Description For courses in Basic Electronics and Electronic Devices andCircuits. From discrete components, to linear integratedcircuits, to programmable analog devices, this popular, up-to-datedevices text takes a strong systems approach that identifies thecircuits and components within a system, and helps students see howthe circuit relates to the overall system function. Floyd is wellknown for straightforward, understandable explanations of complexconcepts, as well as for non-technical, on-target treatment ofmathematics. His coverage is carefully balanced between discreteand integrated circuits and his extensive use of examples andgraphical illustrations makes even complex concepts understandable. NEW - Chapter on Programmable Analog Devices ?Chapter 19. Provides students with an introduction to field-programmable analog arrays (FPAAs) and how to program them. NEW - Devices ?Sections on differential amplifiers and the IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor) are now included. Circuit simulations examples and problem sets. Strong coverage of troubleshooting and applications throughout. Coverage of advanced integrated circuits Hundreds of photographs, illustrations, and system schematics. Semiconductor Basics. Diode Applications. Special-Purpose Diodes. Bipolar Junction Transistors (BJTs). Transistor Bias Circuits. BJT Amplifiers. Field-Effect Transistors (FETs). FET Amplifiers. Power Amplifiers. Amplifier Frequency Response. Thyristors and Other Devices. The Operational Amplifier. Basic Op-Amp Circuits. Special-Purpose Op-Amp Circuits. Active Filters. Oscillators. Communications Circuits. It's a nice book with clear explanations for fundamentals, but would need an errata for the problem sections (see the wrong solution for example 5-5).
