Jack Bennett and Frank Lederman find themselves in the middle of not only a spiritual battle, but a physical one, as they continue to dig for facts in their attempt to thwart demonic forces from taking over the country. Will Emily’s new identity be revealed? Will her mission be in jeopardy? It has become evident to all of them, that they have become the hunted instead of the hunters. Dante Adal and the Sons of Nimrod set their sights on the White House and the elimination of Jack, Frank and Emily.
A frequent lecturer in Biblical Prophecy, Russ brings a lifetime of technical expertise to a story he believes may very well be the substance of tomorrow's headlines. "On the Edge of Time" began in 1994 as a 50-page short story named for the newspaper the protagonist writes for, "Chronicles of the End Times." After a few years, Russ resumed writing with Steve Mamchak and ultimately split the completed novel "On the Edge of Time" into two captivating parts.
Russ's new series HIDDEN THRONES is an exciting thriller pitting demons and angels in a battle for control of planet earth.
In the 1960's and 70's, Russ Scalzo was the front man for The Hallmarks, a band popular along the Jersey Shore, and scored a record contract with Mercury Records. After a life changing decision, he went from performing in bars to ministering in churches and touring the country with his band, Saved By Grace. He has written too many songs to count, including music for several original musicals. He is the co-founder and president of a non-profit Christian theater company based in New Jersey, Lighthouse Stage Productions.
Russ currently serves as a teacher and elder at Searchlight Church. He resides on the Jersey Shore with his wife of 40+ years. He is a father of three and grandfather of five.
Book 2 is always rough, but this is better than most
I know. The second book is where the trouble reaches its peak. Everything falls apart and victory seems far away. For me, it's hard reading a second book with no third book available. I'm beginning to see afresh my wife's practice of not buying a series until it's complete. That's much easier with romances, though.
Spiritually, it just keeps moving along. The evil is more visible. That may not seem realistic, but if the spirit world was visible it might well look like this. We do need to remember that we are involved in a war. Much of what we do has warfare behind it.
It's a fun read, but I can hardly wait for for the next one and some resolution.
This is Book 2 in the Hidden Thrones series. I'd just finished book 1 and immediately went into book 2. The story seamlessly flowed from book 1 into book 2 with very little repitition (which might make it difficult for someone reading #2 before #1). I liked this book too, although it seemed to add a bit more romance than I want in a book about demons and angels. I prefer reading about the spiritual aspects of the story than so much romance. More of the story from book 1 progressed in book 2. The same plot line is playing out with further developments.
This second book in the series, maintained the same problem issues for me as well as the good gospel content.
I would give the difficult parts a rating between 2 and 3 and the good between 4 and sometimes 5.
So I settled on 4.
But I really dislike how quickly the 'romance' parts, always goes to kissing, on the first date and the women are always 'hot' ( I don't mean the author uses that word, but he might as well).
And even more frustrating, is the demon warfare.
Sometimes the heroes make it very clear they are calling on God to fight against the demons
but then....
If the archangel Michael, would not even dare pronounce a blasphemous judgment against the devil, why would humans think they could?
but at times they do in these books!
Here is the Biblical quote:
"But Michael the archangel, when he, disputing with the devil, was arguing about the body of Moses, did not dare pronounce against him a blasphemous judgment, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!” Jude 1:9
Still at other times, I find myself praying or crying because of the Biblical truth.
I fear at this point, the bad part ( the ones I find hard to deal with) are not going to get better....
Just like the first book in the series, this was a fabulous, excellent, read. It started with a bang and kept going. I could not put it down from the moment I started it. And I can’t wait to get the next one in this series. This is great stuff! This is thriller, supernatural/fantasy, romance and suspense all rolled into one. Whoever gets this series will not regret it. The good thing is I consider it supernatural with truth, not written in so much deceit. If there is any deceit in this book which I don’t believe I found any yet it’s definitely, most definitely, not done with intent.
I read this book pretty much straight through without the audio. For some strange reason Audible and Kindle aren't connected on this one. But that's my only complaint. Plot line is terrific. Picks up exactly where last ended with plausible explanations. Timely character additions so you clearly get to know and understand motivations. Battle scenes are phenomenal. Would make a great movie.
It only gets better! I believed the first book was most likely going to be the best of the series but I was pleasantly surprised. I felt engaged completely throughout the second book. I couldn’t put it down! Soaking it up in less the 8 hours. I know you’re going to enjoy this book so much. Highly recommend to all readers!
These 2 books that I have read so far have stirred my heart. My faith has been increased ten fold. They have re-awakened the Spirit in my soul and I look forward to all the rest of the series. This author is a powerful writer and obviously an amazing Christian.
This is an exciting book. The darkness is all around, but the Lord is protecting and keeping his angels at hand. These people are really saturated with the power of God, great reading
I chose five stateside this book continued the intense and exciting sketchbook one.It was inspiring and motivated reader to pray seek the Lord and believe God is with you.
Amazing Story! It's a great reminder of the true battle that is taking place for those who are serious about following the Lord Jesus Christ. A good reminder to pray more and to fight the battle through serious prayer.
2nd in the series is very exciting. There was a thrill around nearly every corner. The characters are strong and engaging and the storyline stayed strong. I enjoy this and will be moving on to the next in series.
I liked how yes angels came around and fought with The dark forces and watched over the main characters if the book. If encourages me to know that it's also happening with is now.
A book full of action, revelations, and the power of the Almighty. I would’ve given it a 5 but it needs a bit of editing and spelling correction. The story is full of twists and turns but they have their place!
