Debut book by this author. I picked it up off of the staff picks from my local library, so glad that I did! I’m not really sure about the ending it was left a little bit open, nit sure if the author plans to write a sequel.

This book will take you on a journey of a sisters. They both have lost their mom or have they? Val and Karen are so different and have very different outlooks on life. Karen is working in a nursing home as a CNA and she has some very interesting patients that she is in charge of. One of these will teach her many things and open her eyes and teach her many lessons along the way. So this book is sort of about Karen's journey in life and you see how she matures and changes. Will the secret Val and her mom had tear the sisters apart or will it bring them closer? How does each handle the death of their mother? I certainly did not see some of the twists that this book takes coming so it kept it very interesting. It did take me a while to get into this book, but I hope you might like to go on this journey of life and you may even learn a few things while reading it.

An interesting read. Keekee (Karen) lost her mama at a young age. She lived with her sister Val. Karen worked in an old age home and meet Jessica. Jessica and her friend Hersel hit it off and started dating. Something that Karen did not want. She wanted HershHesh to herself. She wanted to be more than friends.
Val was over her head in debt. Her mama didn’t pay the bills or mortgage.
Val went off to look for a job for a couple weeks to different town, leaving Karen to watch over the house. 2 thinks Karen found out, the house was in foreclosure and Val was actually her biological mother.
Events leading up to Karen finding out are heartbreaking. The author did an amazing job telling the story. Would highly recommend this book.

The best part of this book was watching Karen's maturing through her time with Ms. Blout, which helped her relationship with Val. At the beginning of the book Karen was a self centered, immature person, not someone easily likable, by the end of the story you're rooting for her and cheering her on. What wasn't so great about the book was that the author seems to miss or gloss over details from time to time and those might have improved the story, and the ending suddenly became rushed, here's another shocking twist, the end. Left this reader thinking what was that?!?!

Moment of Certainty is Pamela Towns debut novel. I didn't know what to except as she is a new author and I was not disappointed.

Val and Karen are sisters who have lost a key part of their lives, their mother. The loss was not expected but even more so unexpected were the secrets and debts that the sisters gained from this loss. There is a clear difference on how they want to proceed with the situation; one wants to find everything out and one wants to stay in the dark.

The story takes you through their journey as sisters and sees them grown and change along the way. As a debut novel Pamela Towns did a great job. The only thing that I would say could use some work is paying more attention to some details.

Pamela Towns has a winner in her first debut novel. A story of overcoming all odds and finding the truth to be set free. Karen and Val have lost their mother but have gained her debts and secrets. When a letter is found in the floorboards, the truth comes out and it could ruin what Karen and Val have known. Karen is determined to uncover the truth and Val does everything to keeping it hidden.
The debut novel is well written and a page turner. The characters in the story have been written with just enough mystery to keep you reading. I think like others who have read it, the ending seems left open. This story is well worth the read. Well done Pamela Towns. I look forward to more from you.

Karen and Val are sisters and they lost their mom. Karen is working at a nursing home and taking care of their patients. Karen’s talks with Ms. Blout helps with her relationship with her sister Val. Val is hiding a bit with bills from her mom’s house. There’s events that bring the girls closer together. Some of the events are more shocking then others. These two work through their troubles and come out with a stronger bond. This is a great read and so different from others I’ve read. A page turner that you don’t want to put it down.

Karen and Val had different up bringings even though they lived in the same house. Karen got away with so much but her sister Val always got the punishment.  There mother dies and takes a secret to her grave, well that is what she thought. Karen find the letter her mother wrote andnher world geta turned upside down. This book takes you on a journey of discovery, suspense and finally love. Great story. A little hard at some points but worth the push.

This book was about an angry woman who had to make a lot of changes, but the hurt caused her to struggle. The author described the characters and they seemed so real. Full of suspense, secrets, hurt, and about a family going through a struggle. The changes that Karen goes through changes your perception of the book as you read. I like that the author can change your emotions on a dime. Great book.

Karen and Val sisters through everything but just one secret could change it all. Karen a bit of a wild child takes a job in an assisted living home but meeting one of her cares changes a lot of her path along with her sister Val. The story took me a bit to get into but it picked up and changed my mind about a lot of things.

I have never read anything from this author before and I was pleasantly surprised by this story!! You get two female protagonists that are quite interesting and they both have quite a story to tell. The story line was well done and easy to follow. The younger sister Karen shows a lot of growth throughout story and it's very refreshing to see. Humor, secrets and a big old twist at the end keeps you invested in this story from start to finish.

I really like this story. From the first chapter through to the last, Karen and Val's stories were gripping and very moving. Val, a victim of terrible abuse and Karen the unknowing daughter, raised as her sister. Karen's behavior was terrible towards everyone until a resident of the care facility she worked at befriended her and helped her see how her behavior was a detriment. Truly a great book. The ending seemed a bit rushed but the story was a page turner for sure.

Author Pamela McAfee Towns brings us the story of sisters Val & Karen. Val is quiet & really withdrawn but, you find she is going through something & has been for quite some time. Karen is the spunky, outgoing sister but also has been irresponsible her whole life. Now that their mother has passed, it's time for Karen to grow up & she's learning that daily. But there are secrets between them and Val is determined to keep them while Karen is digging to uncover them. What will happen when Karen finally finds the truth? This book had me so confused on the last page. What you think is just a simple secret turns out to be something else. I read the last 2 pages again to be sure. There has to be more to this story. So even though I'm unsure of the exact ending 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ -Lee-
