For Susan, Christa was the one who got away. No, worse. Christa rejected Susan for another woman. Heartbroken, Susan left town to care for her dying mother.
Two years later, Susan is back, and one of the first people she sees is Christa. Christa is single again and wants to rekindle her relationship with Susan, but Susan isn't so eager. Why open herself up to being hurt again?
As if that dilemma isn't enough, Susan's daughter, Ellen, has become engaged to a violent, homophobic man who refuses to accept Susan's lifestyle.
Will Susan give Christa another chance? And how will she deal with a son-in-law who despises everything she stands for.

Judy’s books are lesbian romance but most include important social issues, such as, lesbian domestic violence, family incest, forgiveness, ghostly happenings, online dating, older women finding lesbian love, homophobia, childhood abuse, a young girl’s acceptance of having two moms, a female war vet with lasting physical and mental issues. Judy prefers to write with characters in their mid-thirties, with the oldest being sixty-nine and seventy years of age.
This book was worthy of a 5⭐rating… but the anger, sadness & betrayal I felt after finding out about Keri— the bitterness just wouldn't allow such a travesty of tragedy to be celebrated or sanctioned…
Now, aside from that…
Although not as amazing as the first book was, this book was still enjoyable— even if its due to the familiar & beloved characters & good writing style rather than the actual plot & storyline developed.
The ending resolutions just seemed to wrap up more than a "lil bit" too nicely, conveniently & efficiently with a conclusion that felt insufficient for the torrential emotions, drama & energy involved.
Still, all in all, I would readily & confidently recommend this book. Cause I still can't wait to see where the next installment of the series will take us.
This is a very well written tale about getting a second chance at love. The characters are well developed and the storyline flows from the pages. Sometimes secrets can damage family dynamics beyond repair, and sometimes tough decisions must be made. What would you do if you had a second chance at love with the one that got away?
Really liked the story. The author tied up the loose ends from the previous story Second Chance. I'm glad everyone was able to work out their issues effectively. Well done
