Dead Sure is a paranormal mystery thriller that brings the gangster life of the 1920’s Prohibition era roaring back to life. Jack, a cocky young construction manager, finds himself quickly entrenched in a mystery that spans present to past. A mysterious apparition encountered during a building demolition leads Jack to an old journal that will expose many secrets. The deadliest, being the location of an ancient medallion that allows the bearer to go back in time. Menacing forces are at odds trying to prevent Jack from reopening the past. Going back could lead straight into the heart of a dangerous love triangle, involving control of the Torrelli crime gang and upsetting the balance of power. Jack is taken on a harrowing journey, as he tries to calculate his next move with a fluid past that refuses to stay dead for long. Can things be set right, both in the past and the present?
The characters stories intersect and are resolved in deep, meaningful ways. The antagonist manages to cause havoc both in the 1920s and the present, and it takes ingenuity for the protagonists to outsmart and defeat him.
If mysteries, history, time travel, 1920's America, good literature or all the above interest you, you need to give this a try. You'll enjoy it. I'm 'dead sure' of it.
I enjoyed this story that took me on a mind twisting romp to 1929 and back again. This story was full of strong characters and plot twists that kept me guessing. I definitely felt for Tim, a man who was transported back to 1929 and has to fight to get back to the daughter he was taken from. Especially when the antagonist of this story was such a strong one. His intelligence kept everyone in 1929 and the present in peril.
I do not normally read paranormal stories, but kept turning the page on this one with a lot of heart.
