Skildring af hvordan farvede mennesker i 1900-tallet er blevet beskrevet i tegneserier og hvordan det på forskellig vis afspejler den kultur, som serieskaberne befandt sig i. Man følger udviklingen fra udtalt racistiske billeder til nutidens mere nuancerede billeder.
Fredrik Strömberg is a journalist, author and historian. He is editor of Bild & Bubbla, Scandinavia's most prominent magazine about comics and President of the Swedish Comics Association. He is professor at the Comic Art School of Malmö and is on the editorial board for the International Journal of Comic Art.
Among the books he has written are the Eisner nominated Black Images in the Comics, The Comics Go to Hell, Swedish Comics History and Comic Art Propaganda.
Strömberg is a founding member of NNCORE, Nordic Network for Comics Research and also founder and one of the editors of SJoCA, Scandinavian Journal of Comic Art. He is at the moment writing his thesis at Malmö University.
