I know that every time I read a book by M.S Parker. My heart will be ripped out. My frustration levels off the scale. I love Jenna's character. So strong, so vulnerable. I need this to turn out ok for Jenna. I also don't want to wait for the next book. Rylan. I love that man! He needs to sort out the mess, created by his family and Jenna's past. He is the only one able to do this. Can he do it before its to late? Will he find out what his sister said? What's going to happen with the FBI? I know before I get the answers to my questions. M.S. Parker will cause me more pain and anguish. Although all will be worth it!
I absolutely loved this book! M.S. Parker has this amazing gift for creating chemistry between characters that makes you feel like you are going through the same emotions they are it's incredibly captivating! This novel picks up where the previous stories leave off with Rylan Archer and Jenna Lang. The relationship is progressing rather quickly between them but the chemistry is amazing this is definitely one steamy story. There are lots of twists and turns for them including a psycho she has to testify against and dealing with his crazy best friend threatening her as well as his crazy family. Despite all of that the two have an amazing connection to each other but at the end Jenna is faced with a challenge and she must make a decision on whether to stay with Rylan or leave because it's what she feels is best for him. This book ends on a cliffhanger and it leaves you on the edge of your seat impatiently waiting for the next novel in the series! If this book is any indicator it's going to be worth the wait and I have a feeling that M.S. Parker is going to take us on a wild and amazing ride.
why are we limited to five stars because DARK PLEASURES is an outstanding read and would deserve so many more, I have never been disappointed by anything that ms parker has written. The story line and plot in this book is so well written, it is a full length novel but you will want to sit and read it all at once. The chemistry between Rylan and Jenna is off the charts HAWT and is pouring off the pages, you will need to stop reading to cool down and change panties because its that hot. But what relationship is perfect and without complications, for Rylan and Jenna its Suzette Rylans step sister and Christpohe who try to destroy their relationship. This book will also show us more into jennas past and help us to understand why jenna is the way she is, I feel so much for her and hope that she will get the happily ever after that she deserves. I will be waiting not so patiently for the need book in this series, loved every minute of this book and didn't want it to end.
I am really enjoying this series. What Jenna & Rylan have is real and their relationship is moving fast but the love they have for each other nothing can come between them. Or does it? Between her always having her past haunt her and Rylan's family not approving and was down right cruel to Jenna, but Rylan loves her and will always be there for her, he is her anchor. Jenna must make a heart breaking decision to stay or to go. I can't wait to read the next installment. I can't wait to see what the outcome will be
Oh wow another amazing book by M.S. Parker. With Jenna still haunted by her past Rylan tells her that she can use him as her anchor to keep the nightmares at bay, everything is going great for them until Rylan wants her to meet his family which doesn't go very well but it leaves Jenna feeling put out. Will Rylan find out what's been said to Jenna, will the FBI get what they are after from Christophe? Can't believe how the book ended and now to wait impatiently for the next one.
This is the 2nd book in the Pleasure Series and should be read in order.
The after affect from the Christophe‘s incident has started to pass, the reality that Jenna knows that she can’t run from her past anymore has crept up. She knows that she’s fallen for Rylan but history tells her that people like her don’t end up with guys like Rylan. Will Jenna be able to move on with Rylan and find her happily ever after or will her past come back to haunt her once again?
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review and all I could say at the end of the book was OMG!! It shocked me and left me wanting more.
Jenna may seem like she has it together but after the attack by Christophe all her insecurities come back full force. She knows that a happy ending may not be possible, but Rylan makes her feel that she can have it all. Her strong will and determination has her working hard to keep what she has but the doubt keeps creeping in. It doesn’t help when Rylan best friends Zeke tells Jenna just what he thinks of her and her relationship with Rylan. This just adds to her list of reasons why the relationship between Rylan and her will not work out and that she was never meant to have a happy ever after.
Rylan knows that Jenna is the one. He loves how she responds to him without thinking about it. Her submissive side comes out with him so easily that to him it proves that they’re meant to be together. The dominant side of him tells him to take her and show her what they can be but with her past he knows that he has to take his time with her. Rylan loves Jenna and knows that she is the only one who has ever made him feel this way. Of course there are few challenges along the way but he doesn’t care what anyone else has to say about it. As far as he’s concerned Jenna is his and he will do everything to keep her in his life.
This series began with a bang and hasn’t stopped. Jenna had a rough start in life but she’s fought back and has made a life for herself. This shows just how strong she is and with the incident with Christophe is just another example of that strength she has within her. These are some of the reason why Rylan is so attracted to her. These two have chemistry that blows you away. They work great together but when they are alone they draw you in so much that you forget that you’re reading a book. This book in the series focuses on Jenna and Rylan’s relationship and how others around them react to it. The fact that they are keeping it out of the office at the beginning and then decide to slowly let the office know they’re together just shows how much they are willing to work on things. Rylan’s best friend doesn’t take this relationship well as Rylan changes how he is spending his time and Jenna receives the fallout from Rylan’s choice. I applauded her for taking the high road and not wanting to damage their friendship, although Zeke deserves it for how he treated Jenna while Rylan was out. It does upset Jenna that Rylan doesn’t see how Zeke is saying one thing but shooting daggers at her when he turns his head. He’s not the only one who believes she’s not good enough for Rylan and this is proven when she’s meets Rylan’s family for the first time. These doubts that others have voiced are playing on Jenna’s mind as much as her own doubts have and has her wondering if they are right for each other. The feelings these two have for each other is evident but can it survive when others are sent on making sure it fails. I guess we’ll have to wait until More Pleasures to come out to see what happens next for this amazing couple.
I can say that I've loved every book I've picked up by M.S. Parker thus far, but this book just simply didn't do it for me. There was so much focus on her past (and the same parts were hashed and rehashed and rehashed) that I started to think of Jenna as a complainer. No matter how much Ryland tried to get her to open up to him, she refused and it was frustrating that she was so selfish even though he put everything he could into comforting her. Up until this point I've really liked Jenna too and understood the way she was. The first half of the book was basically the same thing, just written a bit different.
However, I'm glad I stuck through it since the second half was more like the other books in this series. We got to see more development in her relationship with Rylan and some of what was going on with Christophe.
Can't say I'm happy with how it ended, but I can see why she does what she does.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.
Thanks Wicked Reads for a free book to read and review.
This book contains scenes of child molestation and non consensual rape.
Tough subject to write about, but the author did a good job at spinning her story. Jenna gets closer to Rylan in this book and the sparks fly between them. She makes sure Christophe is going to jail by testifying against him, which comes from book one and simply continues in this book. The book flowed pretty good and Jenna gets hell from Rylans family and friends. With family like this who needs enemies. She seems to be finally accepting of herself, and Rylan seems to have helped her blossom but at what cost to him. The ending was surprising but families tend to fuck everything up. Can't wait to read more though! Four stars on entertainment.
Omg, M.S Parker it's getting hot in here with dark pleasures. They chemistry and relationship between Jenna and Rylan is heating up in more ways than one. With jenna giving control over to rylan in more and more ways things start to really heat up between them, but will her past and his family and friends come between them and ruin the love that they share. Guess you will have to continue reading dark pleasures and the rest of the series to find out. M.S. Parker you are a goddess in your writing, thanks for bringing a life of fantasy to words, so we can all live through your stories.
Outstanding! M.S. Parker has created a story with so much depth that I feel as though I know Jenna and Rylan personally. The strength and courage Jenna has shown to overcome her past is a true testament of her bravery. Rylan has consistently shown Jenna his love and belief in her. Unfortunately, old scars and fears are difficult to move past. Jenna wants her future to be with Rylan, as much as he wants to be with her, yet will family break them apart! Dark Pleasures is a must read!
Loved it! Could not put it down! Loving this story! How can Jenna be so strong after so many bad things that have happen to her? She is asked by FBI to help them catch other child abusers, but at what cost? Will she ever be safe? Let alone will she ever allow herself to be loved and at home in the arms of Rylan? So hot and sexy! Can't wait for next book!
OMG!! M.S. Parker has done it again!! LOVE this story! The story continues with Rylan and Jenna's relationship. We get to see into Jenna's past and see why she is the way she is. She's so messed up from the things that were done to her as a child, but Rylan is SO patient with her!! Love him so much!! This is a must read!!
As you read this book you can feel how much love Rylan and Jenna have for each other. Jenna has such a messed up past that she is trying to move on from but the past keeps dragging her back. Rylan's family is so controlling they don't think Jenna is good enough for him. Will they be able to fight through everything in order to be with each other or will it be too much?
I love this story it's sad all the pain she has gone through in her life only to still be in pain because of others. I hope that m.s.parker helps her finally find true peace in mind, body ,and soul I can't wait to read more of her story with the man she so truly loves.
Omg I loved this book when I finally had the time to actually read it.....OMG I love Rylan an Jenna an I really hope the lil b**ch Suzette gets hers, I really hate medelling little sisters....grrrrrr can't wait for the nxt one in this series!!!!!!
I'm truly broken... one of the best books of this genre I have read... but I'm broken
This is one of those book series where I have become so involved and in love with the characters that I feel like they are real... or I am living this whole relationship with them. It takes an extremely good writer to give their characters and plot lines such depth that you become so completely immersed.
OKay.. so lets just get the sex out of the way. It's hot and there's lots of it... but it's not grotesque or uncomfortable, it's beautiful and sensual. With Jenna's traumatic past and the struggle she has had with turning sex into something she wants to enjoy instead of something that quenches a need, Rylan is so thoughtful, caring and incredibly understanding that with every passionate encounter that they have, you can't help but fall in love with him. Damn... that girl is sooooooo lucky!
There's part of me that completely understands why Jenna is hesitant and fearful about giving everything to Rylan. Her background, her past and her lack of love throughout her life up until this point is enough to make her sceptical... almost cynical. Love! What is it? She's never known it. She's never felt it. She's never had it... so how can she know what to do with it?
Jenna is so confused. For the first time... she finds herself feeling, having and wanting love. No one has ever made her feel the way she feels about Rylan. He is perfection. He makes her feel safe. He makes her feel wanted. He makes her feel... loved. As much as she tries to deny her feelings, she knows that he is everything she has ever dreamed of. Her White Knight. So why can't she trust herself to think that she is enough for him.
Despite the bumps and the ups and downs that her past has continued to throw at her, Rylan refuses to let Jenna fall back into the darkness that had once consumed her. There is so much compassion, understanding and acceptance in Rylan's behaviour towards Jenna. Nothing could possibly turn him away from her... not even his families objection towards her. It doesn't matter to him what anyone else thinks... his heart belongs to Jenna.
Sadly, no matter how much Jenna loves Rylan, the only thing that drives them apart is Jenna's insecurities about whether she will ever be good enough for him and those insecurities are only compounded when his family accuse her of wanting nothing but his money. Rylan and Jenna know that's not the truth - but convincing Rylan's family and close friends seems near impossible.
They think that Jenna will try to trap him into marriage by getting pregnant, so when Jenna reveals that this is not possible due to her infertility she thinks that will be enough to stop the accusations... but when given the opportunity to twist the knife deeper, Rylan's spoiled little sister grabs it with both hands... driving the only wedge between them that could pull them apart. Jenna feels she has nowhere left to turn. If she wants Rylan to have the perfect life her dreamed about, she has to let him go because according to his sister, the one thing Rylan wants is the only thing Jenna will never be able to give him.
Devastated.... that's how this book has left me. Angry... at his family but also at Jenna for not talking to Rylan about how he feels and just taking his sister at her word. I can't wait to read on to the next few instalments because I need to know that they will find each other again. That they will work everything out. And that against all odds, their love will win.
Fast flowing good read, I love Rylan and jenna, the chemistry is good, not so kine on Suzette and Zekke but I'm sure there will be more about them in the next book,

I thoroughly enjoyed this novel from the first page until the very last. It has been a very rare occurrence that I could just pick up a book and read it in one day; but, I was captivated by these characters and their amazing love story instantaneously.
Jenna Lang now knows that after many years of running away from her past that she can't do it forever and now that it has finally caught up to her she isn't exactly sure what to think. After being involved in an incident with Christophe a former co-worker at Rylan's company Jenna has a choice to make, the fact that whilst she was younger she went through what you could call hell and that her mother didn't exactly treat her like a daughter but more like a puppet just so she could get money, now she has to make the choice of helping others that are in the position that she once was or to just stay away for good so that it doesn't come back to haunt her.
Her boyfriend Rylan has been very supported of her and is taking great care of her because he knows what it's like to be hurt even though they are complete separate incidents, he has a connection with her that no one can explain. He has fallen in love with her and it scares the hell out of her, but what also scares her is that she has let Rylan in, she knows that normally he wouldn't look twice at a girl like her but the fact that he does shocks her.
Rylan doesn't want to see her hurt so he tries his hardest to make her see sense, but one night whilst he was working late Jenna got a surprise from Zeke his best mate and he wasn't exactly thrilled that Rylan now had a girlfriend because he felt like she was taking him away from him so Jenna is left with a compromise in order for her happiness.
Will Zeke manage to get through to Jenna and make her leave Rylan or will she finally realise that she has got someone who cares about her deeply and not give up on that. Also what will she do when it comes to helping children who go through what she has, will she do It or just bury it back into the past again.
This story has been amazing to read, and I'm enjoying every minute of it, but as well when your reading it you feel connected to the characters and how they are feeling. I would recommend you to read it because it's that good.
