I almost didnt buy this book when I stubbled upon it in Topping and Company (a fantastic independent bookshop in bath, a must visit!), because I already have been keeping a sketchbook/art journal for 6 years and this seemed a basic book. But Im so glad I did! It is so inspirational: showing pages from many types of sketchbooks, giving fun suggestions such as drawing at night and prompts on how to get started. But most of all it instills the idea of habit and using your sketchbook each day and really living in it! Since getting this book I have worked in my sketchbook everyday. If you are an artist run out and buy this!
