**Even though this can be read as a Stand-Alone, it is a spin-off from the PNEUMA series, so it would mean SO much more if you read that too... hint-hint ;) **

Every mom tells her daughter she’s special.
Every mom treats her like royalty and tells her she’s a princess.
But how many mom’s can admit that what they’re saying is actual fact.

The truth to everything was hidden from me, until it was violently thrown into my face. I was ripped from my friends, my family, my life, and Earth.

He showed me the truth when no one else did.
He’s also the one that took me from everything I loved.
I have to get back. I have to get home.

What happens when I have to depend on the one person that took me?

My name is Gabbi Powell and I will do anything to get back home. Including staying away from it.

I am a Leo. Born August 10, living on the east coast. I self-published my first novel, PNEUMA in 2014, and I have no regrets.
One of my many indulgences is fitting in time to read. My other happy place: having too much to write and not enough hands to type it out. Not enough brains to put the stories together fast enough. Not enough tea or coffee to keep me awake 24/7.

So, like every normal person, I have to take it one day at a time.

My cravings for sweets keep me going, any sort of cakes (especially red velvet), pies, cookies, and ice cream.
I have a cat named Bongo, who loves to get in my way when I'm trying to work but is too cute for me to fight him off.
And then I have my family, who puts up with my endless nights, my tapping of the keyboard, and my ridiculous imagination.

Interesting spin off to the Pneuma series - and you can absolutely read it as a stand-alone and later get into the first series. You are not taking away too much but of course if you can't stand spoilers you should start there.

That being said: Oh my. I love Gabbie's dad, loved him throughout the series, will always do but seriously? Shouldn't he know better? I had to wonder what her parents were thinking, it was so crystal clear something like that would happen sooner or later... and again Serena Kearney takes us on a rollercoaster ride with lots of emotions, happiness and tears, the plot takes some detours and has some lengths but slowly builds up suspense and most important empathy with the characters (like mother like daughter ... and that too should have been talked about in the Powell house early on so to prevent the heartbreak). But what I liked most are the beasts. Fluff, Ax and Tar, the rogue, all of them, they are fascinating animals and I really got to love them.

Now the question is: Will there be more? It's no cliffhanger this time...

So I read this book after the Author messaged me asking me to check out her new book.....and I'm so glad i did! i was hooked from the start and didn't want to put it down!!!

This book is a stand alone book but happens after the events in the Pneuma series...(which btw I've only just started to read my self) but even if you haven't read the first 3 books in the series you can still read this before hand. The pace in the book was fantastic, and Serena Kearney is a fantastic writer!

So if your looking for a book to get you hooked then you so so start reading this!

One of my favorites

Just like the others, this is a great book. It is clean and has the right amount of suspense and romance.

Gabrielle Powell is a quiet girl who is best friends with one of the most popular girls in her high school.
She mostly flies under the radar but it's a mistake to think that she's some kind of nerdy wimp. The fact is, she can kick a bully's butt when the occasion calls for it.
Oh, and she's a princess.
She doesn't know it, but that doesn't make it any less true.
In "Clane" author Serena Kearney has fashioned a high-octane thriller that blends science fiction, the paranormal, and romance into a really nice coming-of-age novel about a young woman who finds herself in one precarious situation after another.
Kearney has given full rein to her imagination in this novel and has created not one but several memorable characters. They range from Gabbi to her best friend Audrey; her friend and martial arts training partner Gage; her parents; and the mysterious, other-worldly beings who become a huge part of her young life.
Gabbi is typical of the kind of female characters often found in Indie novels: No shrinking violet, she is smart and she is dead loyal to friends and family. She is compassionate, willing to put herself in harm's way if it means she can correct an injustice or prevent someone from being harmed, and bold when she needs to be. She is also baffled by her emotions at times, especially when it comes to being in love. That makes her all the more real to me.
My only quibble with the book is the language. No, that does not mean I am offended by four-letter words. Rather, I was a little taken aback because the aliens in this novel have a decidedly American way of speaking. That threw me a little for this simple reason: I know many people that speak English as a second language and even though they have lived in the United States for many years they still have difficulty with colloquialisms. That aliens can arrive on Earth speaking - and completely understanding - colloquial English just seemed a little far-fetched to me.
That said, Kearney has a strong narrative voice and impressive world-building skills. The story sweeps the reader along at a rapid pace and Kearney provides her readers with enough description to put readers "in the moment" without overdoing it.
Nicely imagined, nicely plotted, and well written with interesting characters; I give "Clane" 4.5 stars and have no problem recommending it.

I recieved this book and was asked for an honest review.
The book starts out at an amazingly fast pace Gabbi the main character is a regular teenage girl until she just isn't all of a sudden she is a princess with abilities and not from earth! I loved the story, but feel I would have loved it even more if I had read the original series before this one, however it was still very good as a stand alone novel. I thought gage was gonna be the love in the story and it actually ends up being the guy that takes Gabbi away from everyone she knows and loves to serve a different purpose. Kurn is an interesting name but when you come from the Aldra everyone and everything is different including Gabbies feeling towards her captor. Kurn does something that makes you swoon about three quarters into the book and I personally fell in love with him when he does something that proves his loyalty lies with Gabbi and not his father. So to keep spoiler free I will shut up now lol. Was a great paranormal read I enjoyed the story there is a lot of action and a lot of suspense throughout I rate this book 4 stars hats off to the author!

This book is amazing! I love Gabriella's connection to animals and the Clanes are a great addition to the characters! Gabriella is a very well developed character and easy to fall in love with. I felt tied to her and her well being. This book made me smile, cry, and warmed my insides. I am hoping that in the next book, Estelle takes Gabi to her home planet. I think this book is wonderful as a spin off but could also be great as a stand alone. Readers won't be confused if they have not read the Pneuma series. I absolutely loved this book and I cannot wait to read any future books!

Very interesting start

I wasn't sure where she would go for a spin off four Pneuma but this book really was worth reading , even if I had not read Pneuma I would have been able to understand and fall in love with these characters . Now where do I find one of those "dogs" ?

But even though you can read this book without having read Pneuma you should read it too .
