When I Hurt

Rate this book
When I get mad, I say all sorts of things, even secrets that I’m supposed to keep.

When I get frightened, I find myself lying, doing and saying anything just so I won’t give him a reason to leave me.

But when I get hurt, oh when I really get hurt—

It’s not because I’m crying and hurting over him.

Vassi.

The gorgeous Russian celebrity who’s also my stepbrother—

And now, he’s the man I’ve blackmailed into being my lover.

When I get hurt, it’s only because I was the one who caused him pain.

I was the one who broke his heart.

I did it because I love him, and for that I don’t mind if I keep getting hurt.

DNF @ 68%.

The h pleasures the H with her hand during class. Later, another student notices evidence on her hand and knows what she did. This was so disgusting bc she never cleaned her hand. She just went about her day after pleasuring the H. There was a lot of immaturity with the h as well. Every time she was upset at the H she would pout in her room. When he was upset at her, he would stay out all night. I got tired about this repetitive cycle. Still no sex which was another disappointment. I just lost interest in these immature characters and dull story.

*received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review*

It's a high 4.5 stars for me! Much better than the first one with a more developed plot than a hot forbidden love (not that there's anything wrong with THAT) and the flow was great, starting off cute and mildly naive and 'wtf are you thinking' to 'holy crackers' and 'WTF ARE YOU THINKING'? The ending totally blew me away with that twist and I am so deliriously happy and yet totally heartbroken at the way it ended. I didn't think she'd be able to do it (didn't think she even thought it possible) but her execution was just- WOW -and it only leaves more room for questions, but in the good way. I think.

Seri's love for Vassi gets questioned and Vassi has to choose between logic and what he really feels in order to understand what exactly is going on between them. Sexy scenes were BEYOND hot, and my stomach pretty much tightened at the second scene, which is what I always love when it comes to Tee's books. The added variables (curse you, Max) made things interesting, but on top of it being fun it still bugged me because again, it was a matter of miscommunication, but isn't that how it always is?

Definite recommend.

Where do I start?

Marian Tee's books have always got its own dramatic flair to them and most of the time, her books tend to be unrealistic and over-the-top. But that's Marian Tee for ya. You either take it or leave it.

I don't know why though, this book just did not work for me. It's a little bit outrageous especially with the drama between Seri and her boys.

Will I read the next book? Maybe. We'll see.

Another short book of the trilogy. Done with it in 5 hours...
Let's talk about the drama for a bit.
I think because of the book's lenght, the story since book 1 happens really fast.
But in book 1 young love is like that. F*cking fast. But in book 2 I wanted to read how the relationship transcurred between hero and heroine. There was nothing substantial more than the lust.
At the end I hated the love triangle, as always. That always brings disaster to the table.
And that last chapter? I almost died while reading it.
I'll eat book 3 because I need to understand this two ajajajajaja... and I really really hope for a happy end ♥

3 stars...

Great storyline with unexpected twists. Again maybe because it's different to Marian Tee's other reads or the fact that it's a step romance, it's hard to connect in places, hence the four stars.

The passion and hurt you definitely feel especially with some of the twists. Am hoping the brothers have their own stories. I'd really like to get to know them better. And maybe this story might be the 5 star read I usually give for a Marian Tee story if it wasn't a Step romance. But then if it invokes even the slightest of emotion in that respect wouldn't or shouldn't it be 5 stars? You'd have go read it to make up your own mind

Oh my gosh!!! My heart broke for Seri in this book. At times I just wanted to shake her! The minute she gets nervous or scared, she lies, which always gets her in trouble. When she's caught kissing Vassi, she lies once again to protect Vassi. Only this time the lie causes Seri to make the ultimate sacrifice, her family and Vassi's love......yes, of course you will need tissues. Oh, and when Vassi finally takes Seri's virginity, you'll also need tissues..... but not to dry you eyes ;)

Ms. Tee delivered as usual. I love her books !!!! I'm waiting anxiously for Seri and Vassi's next book. I'm not rushing you Marian, but...........

If i had only thought to read my review of book 1, i would have not read this one yet! This was a bigger cliffhanger than the first one!! But am glad this one was better than book 1. Hope the final book comes out soon!

Well, this book took some unexpected twists and turns. I enjoyed this installment of Vassi and Seri's story, even if I'm not happy with the characters. I am pleased that Marian Tee was able to completely take this story in an way I did not expect. I can't wait for the next part!

Cliffhanger!!!!!!!

I thought this was a two book series. I only buy her books when the series is done. I absolutely hate this trend to piece meal chapters to readers and call it a series. This author could be an auto buy if she would churn out the entire book.

This book is part two in the trilogy. I chugged this book. I couldn't believe what had happened. I love all the unexpected twist that occurred. While Iw as reading the book, I could really feel the passion and pain the characters went through. All I can say, is read on. It will be worth it.
