After being almost captured by the cruel villains, she is rescued by Meldrick Richglow, her night visitor, and she crosses the portal to the Lapo civilization, the land of milk and honey, where she is safe, but not for long.

The evil Xemlix are terrorizing Earth and can only be defeated with Ava’s supernatural abilities, which haven’t yet awakened.

I was really sad to see how short this one is, but I'm glad I read it. This one is also very lovely written. It helped me understand the first book and how it all started. If you read the first one you MUST read this one too and if you still haven't read the first one, GO READ IT! It's amazing! Thank you Ally for this opportunity :)

this is a great introduction as it gives the introduction to the cast of the descendant and what there roles are in the story also how they came to be involved especially meldrick role and how he came to lapo it was interesting to read the background and i am glad this author chose to do this for her readers short but well written

This book was short. But it explained how it all begins and how everything intertwines together! If you've read The Decendants you must read this. If you haven't......WHY NOT!!!! 5/5 stars! I loved reading the backstory of Meldrick and how he came to be on the Lapo Princess and his duty protecting Ava. This is a perfect book to read AFTER reading The Descendant to get a better backstory on some of the characters. This is a very fun, enjoyable read and just as descriptive as the first.
