A very quick read. Sujatha excels in describing the trauma of a rape victim and that of her loved ones, with lot of empathy. The end was a cop out though.

a story psychological struggle of a rape victim. how a women suffers mentally after rape, along with the psychological struggle of the rapist. combining these two things in single story shows the geniusness of the author.

One of the most original stories of rape victims. Runs interesting fully but the climax was unsatisfactory.

Couldn’t complete. Not an interesting read. Could have been, at the time of writing but not now. Agree with the previous reviews

Average book. It could have been written better but lags here and there. The core plot is amazing but the sub plots needed more and more care.

This book written by sujatha revolved arnd the character babu and paal kundu who turn up to be atrocious and harmful to society raping a lady in public place and so forth. Actually the book is nicely crafted at the end of few pages insisting strongly that, for people who becomes a threat for society due to poverty or starvation, they can't be reasonable or blamed for it. The so-called govt needs to nourish these kids by providing education or chances the mediocre born child experiences. It is suppose the govt who needs to provide knowledge for destitudes and society also plays a bit role by not avoiding them as if they are aliens. Eventually, the story ends saying that, society can't be confined in a cell.

A very good novel with an anti climatic end. Describes the traumatic events that follow in a couples life and also highlights how anti-social elements evolve in a our countries. The story is a direct reflection of our society during the 80s. A good read.
