Stan Brock is a most remarkable man !
As a young man he became a cowboy in Guyana, not an easy thing to do for an English kid.
I loved reading about his life experiences in Guyana. As a cowboy he befriended the local "cowboy" Amerindians.
He decided to do something about the near complete lack of health care available to these Amazonian people. He wound up founding Remote Area Medical which today busily operates in the USA providing health care to people in need !
He is in addition a wild animal lover and conservationist, Mr. Brock became extremely well known in the USA thru the Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom TV show. I used to love watching that !
This guy's SOUL is monumental !

Very fascinating read about a man who became an unconventional missionary of sorts. It was interesting to read of his interactions with the indigenous people of the region and of the lifestyle of people living off the land. Stan Brock lived in my hometown of Knoxville, TN and recently passed away. His legacy long lives on through his Remote Area Medical organization that continues to provide free healthcare to so many people living on the margins.
