The Dentons are the ultimate crime family, involved in drugs, sex, illegal fights, gambling, and much more. They’re vicious, but yet there is a rumor that whispers of a deeper legacy than that of their crime heritage. It is said that a Denton will only fall for a woman once, and he will fall hard. They will not settle for any other woman, and those that do, end up breaking hearts.

Jacob never believed the family stories, but the moment he sees Louisa Moore, he knows the tales are all true. He falls for her instantly, but there’s a problem—she wants nothing to do with him.

Lou is shocked when Jacob Denton takes notice of her. No matter how many times Lou tries to push him away, Jacob will not stop. He wants her, and he will do whatever he can to get her. With her twin brother, Riley, on his side, Jacob knows he will win Lou’s heart.

However, what will happen when tragedy strikes? Will Lou give herself to Jacob, or will she cut him off? For the first time in his life, Jacob has something to fight for, but will he win?

Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound.
She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.

A Meh Story

It pains me to say anything negative because I like this author. Sadly I strongly disliked this book. So many grammatical errors and poor structure. The dialogue was lousy, cliched and juvenile. Lou and Jacob were likable but cut from the archetype patterns of a zillion characters from other stories. Trope, trope, trope sludge everywhere. The plot was predictable. It was so hard to enjoy this book. The best thing about it was the emotion in the writing. This story has heart but fell flat everywhere else.

This is a good book, the hero is crazy possessive and once he see's the heroine she is it for him. He doesn't even look at other woman(win) but they both talk way too much about his past and the fact that he has had many woman in the past. I get it if you are with someone you should know these things but after that lets move on. We know your past is your past and you won't apologize for it but I only need told that once. This wasn't horrible but after the second and times after that I was like lets move on. This is the start of a nice series we have a family full of boys that I'm sure will get a story(again win). I will say there is one scene that I found very hard to read and may be hard for others

OMG THIS BOOK, MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! To say I LOVED IT doesn't even cover it!!!! It was unputdownable !!!
Sam Crescent never ever disappoints me, I am such a huge fan of her books!! Yes, I love myself some good contemporary erotic romance from time to time, who doesn't?
The story is awesome and even if the blurb may sound a bit cliche well it's not, or to say it in a more fitting way: it's a very good type of an almost cliche. This book has everything in order to make it work for the reader: awesome plot, action, humor, hot sizzling attraction, some sexy times ( yep i am a sucker for those) awesome side characters, power, lovely and strong heroine and the sexiest and most lovable alpha hero ( yep I am a sucker for alpha heroes too, go figure). It also has some tears and a just a bit of a sad time, but that gives the story even more depth and no worries we have a brilliant HEA ( i'm also a big sucker for those).
The length of the book is another big plus, short but not extremely short, it has the perfect length for a light, relaxing and why not sexy time.
I absolutely love the hero's family and I want to have the stories of every single one of his brothers like RIGHT NOW!!!! Oh, I would like Frank's too. SO yeah I can't wait for the next in the series!!!!!!
You just have to grab this and read it ASAP! You will not regret it and I'm sure you'll finish the book with a smile on your face. So what are you waiting for? Go and read it!!!!

Jacob Denton was a bad man as all the Denton men were, but it took one women, Louisa aka Lou Moore to make him believe in the legacy that bestowed all the Denton men. One look or could I say just hearing her voice, Jacob knew that she was "the one." As his father, Maddox had told him so many times only he would know when the right one was for him, but his father neglected to mention that the woman would not see the love at first sight point of view. Oh, no because Lou had heard all the rumors of the Denton boy and none of it was good!

She first meets Jacob after her twin brother, Riley Moore age 25 had been beaten to a bloody pulp by the youngest Denton, Landon (16 year old) in a underground fight. Their strange first meeting was short but she left a very lasting impression with Jacob as in one word - MINE!

I really love their battles among themselves as well as their inner dialogue. Jacob was annoying at times but Lou saw that he was more that just a bad man. He kept his family close and his enemies were watched even closer! Everything seem to come easy to Jacob until Lou walks in this life... so he actually had to prod his parents, mainly his mother on how to bring Lou around to caring for him like he cared for her . So trying to plan dates with his sassy lady love wasn't easy...so ... Jacob had to work like never before and that he really did.

I won't give this new story away but know that it will be interesting to see how the other Dentons: Abel, Gideon, Landon and little sister, Tasmin handle the legacy as well as Jacob did!

Plot: 2/5
Grovel: none
Cheating: none
HEA: yes with babies

Worst Line: H: “Do you know how many women there would be who’d love for me to take them out?”

Personal Review:
I liked the concept of tough guys falling completely for one woman only but the execution could have been better. It just felt like a chunk of this story was missing.

Random Ramblings:
•H was a tad immature during conversations with his parents
•Did enjoy the h attempting to stand up for herself…shame she was called a bitch and then ended up calling herself a bitch
•I liked that the h was a 'big' girl and curvy

The Dentons know one thing, they will find one woman and fall hard. Jacob Denton has finally found his, Louisa Moore. Louisa's family is bad news, with the exception of her twin Riley. Jacob quickly realizes Louisa is completely opposite from the rest of her family members. Louisa wants complete honesty before she will even consider going out with Jacob.

Jacob decides he is going to court Louisa properly. He is completely honest about what he does and what she means to him. Louisa just has to decide if she is willing to take a chance with the man who is quickly winning her heart.

Excellent beginning to a new series. Jacob is an intriguing character, I think he is completely opposite of how I pictured him with Louisa. He still is himself, but he cherishes Louisa like no other. Enjoyed Louisa's back story, fascinating how she dealt with her family. Excellent read.

"Broken Promise" is the first book in Denton family legacy, and the story of Jacob and Lou.
Jacob is 35, and knows about his family curse. Having never found the one he spends time managing his family legacy, and fckng women.
A fight between his youngest brother Landon and his opponent Riley leads him to meet Rileys twin sister, Lou and after seeing her he falls head over heels.
My issues with this story
- I don't get the hero and his family threatening Lou to save the legacy
- I know he wanted to show her who he was but who takes a woman on a first date to a brothel
- Her having to deal with his exes and ow
-
That being said, Sam knows how to write a good love scene and they were honestly smokin!!
Overall, something between a good to average read.
Safe-ish (I mean after they meet, all good)

This is the first book in the Denton Family Legacy series by Sam Crescent. Maddox and Charlotte Denton have 6 sons and 1 daughter, Jacob is the oldest son, Tamsin is the youngest and the only girl. Maddox is also the head of a criminal empire which will eventually be passed on to Jacob since he's the oldest. There is a legacy amongst the Denton men, although some see it as a curse. When a Denton man finds "the one", his soulmate he knows immediately and no other woman will do. He will love her with his whole being and it will be forever. Jacob Denton is 35 years old and he figures the legacy has passed him by and he's fine with that. All the Denton men must participate in underground fighting and Landon (he's 16) is the youngest son and it's now his turn to fight. The only person willing to fight him was Riley Moore, his parents own a gym and his older brothers are petty criminals. Louisa "Lou" Moore is Riley's twin sister and she loves her twin but she can't stand anyone else in her family. After the fight the Dentons throw a party and Lou goes with her brother even though she has no desire to go. Jacob is shocked when he sees Lou across the room and he realizes the legacy is real and he knows he'll do whatever is necessary to make her his ... forever.

Great premise. The men in the H's family fall in love with only one woman and they are determined to have them. Unfortunately, the couple did not have any chemistry. The h was too b*tchy and not likable. She had an attitude problem yet everyone kept talking about how sweet she was. Why the hell would you want to work at a strip club when you don't have to? Plus, this was yet another story about a h with weight/body issues. The story didn't flow and some things just didn't make sense. Lastly, there was a character that was killed off towards the end and it was so random. I might read the next book.

So with all the Legacy thing about the Dentons men loving one woman and being instantly obsessed with them, I was kind of excited to read this book. Unfortunately, the main couple didn't do it for me.

I just didn't feel any kind of chemistry between them. Plus, the hero was a total douchebag. Calling the heroine 'bitch' multiples times was not cool. Definitely not something I enjoy reading.

Also, the story had no flow. And to top it all off, the author killed a kind of important character and I was like 'THE FUCK YOU DID'. Talk about random.

All in all, this was not the book for me. Or maybe I'm still in a bitchy mood. Who knows.

Till the next book!

This was an okay book.. i did have a trouble when they kept saying his past.. yeah he was a huge manwhore... most or maybe all denton boys are...not to steamy..

Louisa went to watch her twin brother fight in A underground fightclub, the after party she meets Jacob the oldest son of the Denton crime family.. he already wants her she is his one... and he'll do anything to have her... she agrees to go on a date and learn more about him.. twist and drama around them...drama hits and tragedy happens...

Angst, no cheating, no om but mentions ow from his past, sexy times, secondary chars for the future books, not a virgin

Slowish-insta
Slight push/pull from Lou
Hints of underage sexual assult... lou saved a little girl from getting raped

I really wanted to read this, I like the idea of the Hero finding one women out there for him and being instantly obsessed with her. Sadly the execution and writing failed.

H told her she was being a bitch multiple times and that's just as bad as being called a bitch. He also kept mentioning he was a slut and liked pussy while the h was around!

He had a little black book full of sluts who’d take his cock without any question. There had even been women he called who were in the middle of fucking one man, and they’d climbed right off to come to him.

vomit.

Sam did it again. Another series I'm hungry for. I mean, I wasn't even finished with this one and I already was wanting for the next books. Yes, books. In plural. I desperate not only for Jacob's brothers stories, but his parents and uncles, too.

I love Denton family. And I can't wait to see another one fallow it's legacy.

NOVA Reviews

Okay so i need a couple of minutes to take this book in because I just finished it and I’m still feeling all the loss and the happiness that happened in the last chapters. Seriously, everything happened in the last few pages. People died, got married and lived happily ever after in 20 pages. That’s too much to take in in such a short notice!!! I was WTF'ing the whole time!

Sam Crescent really did a beautiful job with this storyline. It’s not very unique meaning that we all read books about Mafia guys that love one woman only, but this one is special. The whole book you can easily read in a couple of hours because it never gets boring. The author does not sneak in unnecessary things and keeps on giving us surprises throughout the whole story, so when you think you know what’s about to happen, YOU DON’T.

""I told all of you boys that you would find a woman for yourself, a woman you’re not going to be able to walk away from. Once you find her, and you will, the woman you’re with, she’s going to end up hurt. It’s not going to be something you can control. It’s just the way it works.”"

The love story. Oh man, what can I say… Jacob and Lou were extraordinary. It didn’t follow the traditional “I looked at you and fell in love straight away” kind of thing. Well, for Jacob the men in his family tend to fall in love at first sight for one woman only. And Lou is THE woman for Jacob, the thing is that she didn’t fell in love the second she saw him. In fact, she ran away as fast as she could. And all I could say was: YOU GET IT GIRL… RESIST THAT MAN! So, the “curse” is kind of one way. Which is awesome because we get to see a “player” having to chase his woman and making her fall in love with him. It’s great.

"“I’ve not said I’d fuck you.”
“You will. It’s inevitable.”
“Are you really that good?”
“I’m the best.”
“Wow, you really have an ego, don’t you?”
“It’s one I’ve earned, baby.”"

The secondary characters we didn’t get a lot of which I regretted... I whished we got to see more of his brothers and even from the mob side of business. So, if your looking for a book that has a lot of fighting scenes and gunshots and such… maybe this is not for you. This is more for the hopeless romantic that likes a thrill. Me in this case.

Also, I feel like Lou’s parents were a subject that would be great to this story, but we never got to see them for real. Lou spoke about them a lot but when I came to creating problems… there was nothing there. In my opinion it was something the author could have explored a lot and wasted that opportunity and then decided to sneak them in two minutes before the end for the big surprise. No good in my opinion.

One last thing I must mention, and I know it’s not the author’s fault, is the cover. This cover is being used on another book already and I hate when that happens… The editor should have been more careful…

But, putting that all aside, if you’re into sweet love stories that will make your heart race and leave you laughing whilst dealing with a few corrupt people… then you may just love this one.

This is the first book in a complete new and different series by the amazing Sam Crescent. The Denton’s are a crime family have their fingers in every pie imaginable and rule with an iron fist. They are considered firm but fair by all and feared when needed to be. They are bad men all over the world the Dentons are worse than some but better than others, they do have some morals and a code that they live and operate by. The head of the family Maddox runs the city and controls the Denton empire supported by his wife Charlotte who is a strong woman in her own right. She would need to be able to look after herself being married to the crime lord of the Dentons, and be the mother to the six sons she shares with Maddox and one young daughter Tamsin. The eldest of the six brothers is Jacob and he along with Abel, Oliver, Gideon and Damian run the city on the orders of their father. Their youngest brother Landon will join the family business when he is of age and finishes high school. Aside from all their criminal activity their family is famous due to its unusual legacy that happens to each and every male of the Denton Line. Some would call it a blessing others a curse but it is only something that they can experience. When they find the woman meant to be theirs they just know without a doubt that she is he one for them, all thought and reason and interest of any other female falls away. But it is not a two way street as Jacob our first brother soon learns when the legacy hits him and he meets his woman the beautiful Louisa / Lou and she definitely does not feel the same way and makes it quite clear. All Lou has in her life is her twin brother Riley, her family are awful and only concern themselves with greed. Jacob has a real task on his hands with Lou but he soon realises just how special she is, Lou may be feisty at first but she has a sweeter side and softness that calls to Jacob. All of this soon changes his mind and shows him how the legacy is the most wonderful gift in the world. The chemistry Lou and Jacob share is delicious and their characters are well written and show feeling, humour and an array of other emotions. The camaraderie displayed by the brothers is great and their banter is as you would expect of a group of brothers. Jacob is a true possessive alpha male and I loved reading this story so very much. How his relationship with Lou blossomed was so enjoyable. I have and would re-read this book again and again and cannot recommend it highly enough. I cannot wait to see the other brothers fall as they find their soulmates. Happy Reading! Disclaimer - I received an Arc of this book for my honest review and that is what I have given.

Jacob Denton never believed the story about finding that one woman till she spotted her. Louisa Moore was always protective of her twin brother Riley. When Lou sees what happened to him after a underground fight with Landon Denton, she isn’t happy. Even more, Jacob is showing an interest in her. Not happening. She wants nothing to do with a Denton. They are bad news. We learn about the Denton clan and the legacy. They aren’t all bad unless you cross them. Jacob has to show Lou he really wants her for her. Riley is a great brother. He protects her but he knows Jacob is the right guy for her. I love that Lou can handle herself. She doesn’t take an crap from anyone. She just has to believe in Jacob. It’s great that he is open her about everything. Granted, he doesn’t want her involved in the ugly side. You will need tissue though. Something happens that breaks the heart. I honestly didn’t expect it. I started the series late and read, “Blackmailing the Denton Girl” first. So now I am reading about all the Denton men. Jacob is hard and cold but with Lou he is loving and kind. Great story.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved that thr female lead was strong and independent with out being in your face torwards people. She had her own opinions but like any human woman, she at times showed her vulnerability. Granted she took her time in learning not to listen to other women's gossip. But it was thanks to that that she took the initiative in talking to him. And their relationship progressed further. I loved that the male lead Jacob. Actually had to work to get her attention. Even though he was arrogant as hell. I enjoyed that he took his time with her.

I like that this author focuses on the plus sized female. But they are more than just sized eighteen. What about fourteen or sixteen? What about twenty two or twenty four? Why don't she just explore?

Another romance fail. Heroine has spread her legs and let another man crawl between them to claim her innocence, to forever sever a primal bond that could have been between her and her soulmate. Instead she will always have the memory of another man breaking her in, grunting and heaving and rutting away on top of he, a part of her will ALWAYS fucking belong to OM. And the hero will always know another man’s penis was inside his woman, that another man claimed a part of her he will never will.

No thanks.im reading romance for the swoon and getting plowed by another dude kills the swoon. Life is too short for this kind of shit. DNF and returned for a full refund.

This was bad, it felt like it had been written by someone who was just learning English - lots of the sentences made no sense. I’m not the grammar/spelling police, because honestly I’m not one to talk but please just read through a book beforehand and make sure it makes sense.

And also maybe listen to how other people talk to each other, because awkward, choppy and random sentences don’t make for good reading - in my opinion of course, because like always it seems I’m one of the few who didn’t enjoy.

DNF at like 20% and that was kind

I'm not a fan of the heroine and the hero turned out to be very ordinary albeit an alpha. But many things were missing in this book. Detailings are crucial to me. They make an average book to extraordinary. Sam Crescent is known to write alpha possessive heroes who takes too much control but this one fell flat. I was not a fan of writing too. Perhaps good word building would have solved all the problems for me.
