The book is the blue print and the student-athlete is the brand. The book details how prospects can market their brand successfully to scouts and college coaches. Many high school athletes assume college coaches will come knocking at their door. This only occurs for 2% of the high school athletes. The other 98% need to make a target list of schools and start marketing their brand which is their athletic and academic portfolio. Prepstar is a great tool for student-athletes and their parents to utilize in order to navigate through the complex recruiting process. The book breaks down the recruiting process, explains how high school players get ranked, and how to market yourself. The book also provides answers to all the recruiting myths. For example many student-athletes think if they earn a full ride, they're set for the next 4 years. This isn't true. The full ride is generally a one year athletic scholarship which is renewable at the end of the year. The coach decides if he or she wants to renew your scholarship for 3 additional years. In addition to assisting with the recruiting process, the book also provides a preview of how college life will be once you step on campus as a college student-athlete. Vince D'Writer broke into the sports recruiting business in 2005. His main objective for the book is to simplify the recruiting process and provide the information necessary for a high school prospect to successfully get recruited.

Vince D'Writer was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Purdue University. In 2005 D'Writer worked as a Sports Recruiter, assisting high school athletes through the recruiting process. In search of a less expensive alternative for high school athletes seeking an athletic scholarship, D'Writer began working on a self help guide.The book was released on paperback in 2013. While working on his pet project, Vince D'Writer developed a passion for writing.
