I'd have devoured the content in a couple days if not for the fact that: (A) I like to mediate/think through what I've read & utilize some of the quotes and such within the chapters right away; and, (B) I read multiple books at the same time, and keep my mind very fresh by moving from 1 to another to another.
These 8 attributes are skillfully illustrated by Mr. Taylor's adroit choices of historical and contemporary figures, his citations from various other books, and his own life experiences.
Easily can recommend this book to anyone. A very worthy follow up/through to the original/volume I.
I usually don't read this kind of books, but I have to admit that I was inspired by it, and I'm sure I'll read it again in the future. I received this audiobook at my request and I voluntarily wrote a review.
Wonderful uplifting encouraging stories of pain, struggle and victory. I need this at times. It makes my journey look simple and not so tough as I imagined.
Story: This is the second part of "8 Attributes of Great Achievers", hence the book concentrates on attributes 9 to 16. (Which can be sometimes a bit confusing, as far as the numbers of chapters go.) Apart from looking at the important characteristics of a good leader, each chapter offers quotes and examples of those who made it and lived to enjoy the success of their inventions or ideas.
We learn of Christopher Columbus' never ending determination to sail west, even when his crew had a reached a point where they were prepared to kill him, and the ideas of the man behind Walmart. There's the life of George Washington to inspire you and the man who "refined" television (as Farnsworth didn't invent it, but was the first to transmit an electric signal). We learn of the importance of "Thank You Notes" and why it's a good idea to keep a gratitute journal.
Narrator: Benjamin Fife is a very good narrator. His pleasant voice kept me hooked, which isn't generally the case for me as far as non-fiction books are concerned.
Overall: I always treat non-fiction books with a certain kind of scepticism, there's just too much stuff out there which makes your skin crawl. 8 Attributes of Great Achievers was really a pleasant surprise. Well structured and with interesting biographies throughout, the author offers good ideas and explaines why the certain attribute is so important in a plausible manner. The narration is excellent and I really hope, there will be a third part, I for one am looking forward to it.
This is one of the most inspirational, uplifting books I've read in a long time. It reads like a motivational speech that gives you steps and ideas to help you to build a more productive and fulfilling life. His advice is simple, but takes motivation to put into action. With each character attribute that will lead to greater achievement, he shares a vignette featuring wisdom from some of the most positive and productive people through history. Some were so enlightening that I had to read them twice. It is presented in clear, concise language in terms that are straightforward and understandable. If you should need a reminder of your purpose in life, I recommend that you page through this book, taking in the words and insights of some of the men and women whose character shines. The narration is expertly done by Benjamin Fife.
This self-improvement book does a great job taking the stories of great achievers and sharing them in such a way that leads the reader to their own conclusions about how to become such an achiever. With hard work, good networking skills, and treating their fellow man with respect and admiration- these traits become obtainable.
The stories shared in this audio book provide hope for a better future without negating the effort it takes. Cameron C. Taylor advocates for working smart instead of working hard by cultivating these traits that enable regular men and women to become something greater than they are. While this book is not much more than stories- each story has been carefully chosen to illustrate the chosen point in an easy to understand and enjoyable way.
Having read a couple of Cameron Taylor's other books, I went into this one knowing that I would find good information, imparted with sincerity and a desire to do good. And I was not disappointed. I found the anecdotes, both from Cameron's life and from important historical figures, to be poignant, relevant, and inspirational. A person could go very far by adhering to the principles and attributes spoken of here.
Aside from one minor technical glitch, which I'm sure will be cleaned up in the final production, the narration was very well-done, and only served to increase the professionalism and importance of the message.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to better themselves in any aspect of life.
This book is great a chapter/attribute at a time! Each of the attributes are shown from real people in history and more present times and I really appreciated the insight given around them. Many stories jumped out and were very memorable for me- like Irena Sendler's with her saving thousands of children during World War II and the amount of courage she had and I would add strength as well. Really a great read and the narration was well done.

Please note that this is Volume 2, and it covers attributes 9-16.
Cameron C. Taylor is a writer, speaker, and entrepreneur. In this volume he has provided wonderful biographies of several people that demonstrate attributes of courage, mastering fundamentals, gratefulness, and innovation.
It is simply written but will inspire and motivate you. I felt it was a terrific read but could have used a little more depth.
Detailed life stories of achievers from inventors (How Neef Grigg [ tater tot], Philo T. Farnsworth [television]), athletes such as Roger Bannister the first person to run a mile in under four minutes, and more. From these engaging histories attributes are gleaned to help us with the noble goal of being "filled with the joy of gratitude" and being a humble "servant leader".
8 Attribute’s of Great Achievers, Volume Two was a great read by Cameron C. Taylor. This book has many great and inspiring stories from some great achievers. These people are part of the past and present. I really enjoyed reading these books and I can’t wait to read more in this series.
This tome is even more inspirational than volume 1. Principles taught through the stories stir the mind to how one could mimic the attributes of greats throughout history.
What incredible stories and examples for everyone to follow! Power of Thank you notes. George Washington, Christopher Columbus what humble and yet powerful men.
A must read for those in authority. It was inspiring and empowering to read. I just thank the author. I got this book from storyline and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Furthering my pursuit in positive personal development, I instantly picked up this book after finishing Volume I. Cameron C. Taylor outlines another 8 attributes of successful people; courage, love, master of fundamentals, hardworking, grateful, servant leader, innovator and mission driven. Taylor then applies them to some truly great people such as Irene Sendler (rescued Jewish children during Nazi regime), Paul Allen & Bill Gates (founders of Microsoft), George Washington and Philo T. Farnsworth (invented the television).
The stories of these great achievers were just as empowering and uplifting as those in the first volume. I loved that there was variety, Taylor made examples of different achievers to the first. The examples were more detailed in this volume. The most informative section, in my opinion, was about the servant leader and the comparisons between a humble leader and a pride driven leader.
My only issue was that I felt that there was less of Taylor's own words in this volume. It was mainly excerpts from sources.
