I hate Abby! I mean...this woman! She’s funny. She’s adorable. She’s compassionate. She’s smart yet quirky and lovable. She’s accepting of all peoples. She’d doesn’t take any crap from anyone. She stands up for herself while she isn’t afraid to laugh at herself. She’s an awesome employee. She says just the right thing when someone is worried about her reaction. She whips out the best, wittiest one-liners ever. She loves with her whole heart. She can turn the coldest, neat-freak boss into a warm smiling, loveable guy. And the real kicker...she gets to be in a freaking hot Sam/Lawson LOVE SANDWICH. I want to BE her, or be her best friend, or just...both. So on all counts of jealous-bitch girl code, I must hate her, right? Right.
So yeah, Abby Warner is probably one of my favorite book heroines of all time, and she’s perfect for Lawson Stone, the ice-cold prince of filming adult movies. The whole porn might make it sound a little tawdry but it’s actually a classy, sweet, funny—while incredibly hot—story. Lawson keeps it incredibly clean-cut, and I mean that literally. If a germ ever dared touch his person or his business, it no doubt shriveled away long ago, apologizing as it fled, after a single dark glare from Mr. Stone himself.
And then Abby steps into his world and all the perfectly-ordered precision in his life goes to hell in a handbasket. If you like opposites attract stories, this is it in spades! She helps the ice-man thaw. And he makes the lonely orphan feel loved. They are exactly what each other need.
While Lawson was amazing and totally meant for Abby, I grew a big ol fat crush on his best friend, Sam. I mean...SAM! You’ll understand when you meet him. He’s just so...Sam!
Anyway, I really, really REALLY enjoyed this book. I mean, more than I thought was possible. It’s a lot hotter than Ada’s earlier stories and may not contain some of the heart-breaking, soul-crushing moments she’s been so awesome for creating previously (if you’re into those). But this was meant to be a bit more on the lighter, brighter, happier, hotter side of things and it delivered all that amazingly well, while still providing enough depth to make it so worth the price of admission. I would classify it under contemporary erotic romance with a breathtakingly happily-ever-after ending.
LOVED IT!
