How can you imagine forever with someone who's leaving everything behind?

Callahan, a former army sniper, wants to make an escape from his past and everything he experienced at war, but most of all, just not feel. Feeling leads to pain and he’s suffered enough. When he inherits a house on South Carolina’s Kiawah Island, he packs his bags, lured by the peace and seclusion he thinks it will bring. But, Callahan never counted on meeting anyone like Trinity . . .

Trinity has always been the cute, and funny one, who most guys overlook in pursuit of her "hot" friends. She became used to being everyone’s pal, until the day the young man she was attracted to, was drawn to her in return. He became her first great love, and first crushing heartbreak when she found him in bed with one of her closest friends.

To move forward, and to carry out her commitment to helping those in need, Trinity enlists in the Peace Corps, but not before returning to Kiawah for one last memorable summer. She just never imagined it would be so unforgettable.

Callahan doesn’t want to get close to anyone—let alone Trinity. He finds her perkiness insufferable and her attempts to entice a smile distracting. After all, he’s in Kiawah to leave all feelings behind. But when it comes to Trinity, who feels everything, it's hard not to feel something.

Neither expected to fall in love. And no one could have predicted how inseverable they’d become.

Absolutely fell in love with the heroine, Trinity. She's this funny, assertive, quirky woman that doesn't let Callahan, the hero, ignore her how his broody mood wants him to. That sounded better in my head lol She is selfless. She is dependable. She is fun. She is loyal. She is persistent. Did I mention she was funny? It bears repeating. I definitely had a few good chuckles. Callahan tries to fight her very magnetic pull but who the heck can resist her? I can't! Lol He's muy sexy. He's honest. He's caring. Careful. The writing is great. The dialogue feels natural. The plot was interesting and engaging. I found myself hooked and charmed by the characters. Their personalities unique and complex. Looking forward to the next! Safety: No OW/OM/Sharing. h is dealing with ex drama. No condoms. Neither were Vs. No rape/abuse.

This book is the quintessential summer romance novel! I almost took away a star for the cover but it is BETTER than that dammit.

It is the last summer before the real world, and the friend gang is all gonna depart featuring Trinity, Becca, Hale, Sean, and Mason

“Hey,” he says, examining the bottle. “That's some classy shit there. Hey, Mace, 2014 was a good year, wasn’t it?”
“It was, Sean,” he says, rubbing his jaw like he’s trying not to laugh."

description

And we are not worried at all! I'm sure they all gonna do great…

The Characters

I honestly loved how relatable and well written these characters were! Each was unique with their own story about why they were at the beach and what the next year would be. Half of them had nothing figured out and I was just like *yushh mah people *

This is a book that is relationships and character focused instead of the usual action-drive book. It was an adorable beach romance break and I honestly love these characters so much: secondary and main.

“Poor Mason is beside himself, standing with his hands out as he tries to talk down a crowd of irate women demanding he make them some Hurricanes. “Beer!” he says. “I can only pour beer. Doesn’t anyone want beer?”

Becca the best friend was an amazing character. I just finished a book where the friendship was very basic ~hello, enter pep talk, goodbye~ but as a reader, you didn't feel the friendship. Becca and Abby was the opposite of that. They are two crazy girls just enjoying their summer and stick up for each other It had a sense of real to it where you could feel the friendship in their casual interactions and references to past fun adventures.

description

“She kisses my cheek and pats my ass as I walk off since that’s the kind of friend she is. A real one”

Trinity, our main character and mi amor. <3.
Trinity has the most amazing personality I have ever read and that's saying something. Trinity’s point of view literally had me bursting out laughing several times and at one point I had to actually close my kindle because I was rolling on the floor crying from laughter

“By now I’m sort of shimmying as I run and sing (no easy task, mind you) so I’m not sure which part he’s talking about. Shame he’s not impressed by my moves and coordination.”

description

Its true, it really is no small feat. She grew in the South and has the cute lil drawl to prove it. The book follows her point of view as she works with the rest if the hilarious friend group as life guard at the beach so saving people and shit.

Our love interest solider Callahan is just super hot so its all a win win.

Trinity finds that making Callahan laugh or gape in shock to be her new favorite past-time!

“You know what I mean by ‘it’?”
With an agonized breath he opens his mouth, closes it, and finally mutters,
“Yes, Trinity.” He snatches his glass and takes several big gulps.
“Good,” I say, nodding. “It would have been rude to say dick.”
I whip around, trying not to lose it when he starts choking on his juice.”

description

This is a book of relationships- with friends, summer before "growing up", cheating, betrayals, fake friends, the whole enchilada! Things everyone understands and this book perfectly captures

“Insecurity is a big old bitch, who whores around and likes to have puppies”

I mean how could Callahan ever resist her? “But every so often, I’d catch his eyes on me when he didn’t think I was looking, and the barest hint of a grin tugging at his lips when we ran”
description

She pops up everywhere and starts to get under his skin. After a while, he can't help but laugh whenever she is around with the latest crazy notion.

description

There's nothing in the whole wide world like a southern boy. *dreamy sigh*

descriptiondescription

But after that little confusion, they have a family dinner and Callahan accepts his fate:

“We step onto the terrace where her father’s sitting at the table . . . cleaning his shotgun.
For the first time, he smiles when he sees me. “Hello there, son,” he says. “How you doing this evening?”
“Fine, sir.” And please don’t shoot me in front of your daughter.”

if I had the describe the vibes of this magical book, it'd be this gif:

A solid 5 star romance, beyond fun to read! The writing was well paced with a hilarious point of view, summer romance, and friend group. Definitely Recommend!

A deliciously fun, sultry and heartwarming story I couldn’t put down!
“She’s my brightness, my light, even though I never intended her to be.”

After eight years of service to his country as an army sniper, an emotionally distressed Callahan has gone back stateside to the island of Kiawah wanting to get away from everything and everyone, craving a solitary life avoiding all types of emotion. But everyone knows what they say about the best laid plans though, because Callahan didn’t count on the perky Trinity who is intent on demolishing all his walls with her lack of filter, unwavering empathy and “intolerable” sunny disposition.
“I don’t want to feel anything. Maybe that’s why Trinity pisses me off more than she should, around her I feel… everything.”

Following a broken heart by the only guy who’s seen her as other than a little sister or best friend, and because of her upbringing traveling to help people in countries crippled by war or poverty, Trinity has enlisted to serve for two years in the Peace Corps but not before one last summer spent with her very best friends before they go forth and face the real world as adults. After meeting Callahan however, will she still go through with her plans and leave him behind?
“We all have our gifts, and if mine includes making others smile, I can’t complain.”

This is my very first Cecy Robson book and it certainly won’t be the last. She drew me in from the very beginning with a shocking prologue and kept me engaged with its loveable characters and touchingly sweet story.
“I confess, that while it was his appearance that first made me want to know him, it’s the man beneath all this muscle that makes me want to keep him.”

Trinity is one of the best heroines I’ve ever met, I totally wanted to be her friend. Besides being cheerful and fun, she’s absolutely selfless, reliable, sympathetic and won’t take no for an answer. She made me laugh, smile and even cry. I loved how exuberant she is and how she didn’t back down from the moody, taciturn ex-soldier.
“Are you lonely?” He lifts his head slowly, pitching me with such an intense stare, it holds me in place. “Not when I’m with you,” he whispers.

Callahan tried his best at not feeling anything for Trinity, he fought his attraction to her, but she’s an unstoppable a force of nature. Once he accepts her in his life, he’s loving and gentle with Trinity despite all the violence he’s lived through for the past years. He’s complex and absolutely swoony.
“Trin’s one of those rare and genuine young women with a smile so sweet you’d think she was made of honey. She shimmied, that’s right, shimmied her way into my life.”

The attraction between Callahan and Trinity is electric. I liked how their relationship developed, it has some angst but mostly lots of heart, I highlighted so many laugh out loud and swoony moments, almost the entire book looked yellow. Even if the way they resolved their biggest problem did feel a bit rushed, I enjoyed the writing, pace and flow of the entire story.
“I was lured to Kiawah by the desolate silence and peace I thought it promised… Instead I fell head over heels for the loudest, craziest, most in-you-face human being.”

The secondary characters are also very well developed. I loved Trinity’s parents and all her friends. Ican’t decide whose book I want to read next, whether it’s Trinity’s brother or her BFF’s or any of the guys in the gang, they’re all equally loveable. But whichever Cecy Robson decides to write next I’ll be sure to one click it.

Inseverable is book #1 in the Caroline Beach series by Cecy Robson. It’s a standalone, contemporary romance full of fun and sexiness, told from both points of view with a gushingly sweet happy ending.

I just loved this book. I am really new to Cecy Robson's writing, having only listened to one other audiobook before starting this one. I loved the first book that I read from this author so I was really excited to get started with this one and I must say that it lived up to every one of my expectations. It was a really great story and the audiobook production took everything to the next level.

I knew from the very start that this was going to be a different kind of romance. The book opens with Callahan in the middle of a mission which was a bit of a surprise. It was a really quick scene but it gave me a whole lot of insight regarding the things that he had seen and the things that he had done. Trinity is spending one last summer working with her friends after college before heading off with the Peace Corps. Callahan is working as a bartender where her Trinity likes to hang out with her friends and there is no going back after their paths cross.

I loved Callahan from the very start. I must say that he was a bit of a grump at the start of the book but that just made me like him more. What can I say? I just love a grumpy Hero. Trinity was really perky and at the start of the book, I thought that she might be just a little bit too much but she quickly grew on me. I thought that both characters had a lot of depth and had been through a lot. I felt like these two belonged together. They had great chemistry and seemed to be exactly what the other needed.

I thought that Tara Langella and Lucas Webley did a phenomenal job with this audiobook. They put a whole lot into their performance and I enjoyed the fact that the audiobook was more dramatized than the average book. Tara Langella performed all of the female voices even when the chapter was being read from the males point of view and vice versa. I have only listened to a couple of audiobooks that use that format but I think that it is quite effective and helps the dialogue feel much more natural. There were also a few well-done sound effects added to the book. I thought that both narrators had voices that were easy to listen to for hours at a time.

I would recommend this audiobook to fans of contemporary romance. It was a great romance featuring two characters that I couldn't wait to see reach their happily ever after. The audiobook was a fantastic experience and I do recommend trying to listen to this one if you get the chance. I can't wait to read more from Cecy Robson.

I received a review copy of this audiobook from the author via Caffeinated Services.

Initial Thoughts
This was really good. I loved Trinity and Callahan together. At the start of the book, I was worried that Trinity might be a bit too perky and would end up annoying me but she quickly grew on me. Callahan was a big grump at the start of the book and I just love romances with grumpy Heroes. Both of the characters had a lot of depth and I thought that they had a lot of great chemistry. I thought that Tara Langella and Lucas Webley did a great job with the audio. This story was more dramatized than most audiobooks. The female narrator handled all of the female voices even during the chapters told from the male's point of view and vice versa. There were also some pretty well-done sound effects.

What a beautifully heartfelt romance!

I don’t want to feel anything. Maybe that’s why Trinity pisses me off more than she should, around her I feel . . . everything.

Returning from Iraq, Callahan a former Army Ranger Callahan is looking for peace and solitude. What he doesn’t need is an annoying girl bothering him constantly with her chatter, her smiles and her cheerfulness.

Trinity is enjoying a final summer of fun with her closest friends, before she joins the Peace Corps. It’s something she’s been dreaming of doing since she was little, helping others and making a difference. And nothing will stop her from going. But then she meets Callahan, who is so sexy, but so broken with the pain and guilt she sees him hiding behind his gruffness. And suddenly all she wants to do is make him smile, make him happy. Can Trinity save Callahan from his demons? And what will happen when the time comes for her to leave?

“Are you lonely?”
He lifts his head slowly, pitching me with such an intense stare, it holds me in place. “Not when I’m with you,” he whispers.

I really liked Trinity and her upbeat personality. I loved how she was instantly drawn to Callahan, and no matter how surly he was towards her, she never gave up, always trying to make him smile. She saw what a good person he was, and tried so hard to heal him, to make him see how wonderful she thought he was.

War broke Callahan into so many pieces, and the anger and guilt he felt was dragging him down. I loved how annoyed he was at first with Trinity, but also how she slowly got under his skin, making him crave to be near her.

“Why did I have to wait so long for God to bring you into my life?”

The romance was simply beautiful. Trinity was the perfect person to bring Callahan back to life, to bring him back from the darkness he was drowning in. And seeing the broody Callahan going from annoyed by Trinity to wanting her company, to craving her was fantastic. I loved the slow burn of their romance, seeing them fall deeper in love. It was so touching and so beautiful.

I loved all of Trinity’s friends, and seeing how deep the bond between them all was.

This was such an emotional romance, and I loved it. This was my first book by this author, and it definitely won’t be my last. If you’re looking for a romance that will tug at your heart, a broken hero and a heroine strong enough to save him, then this is the book for you.

Okay, wow. I ended up liking this A LOT more than anticipated. I was bored in class and decided to try out the sample of this book and was immediately hooked!

I freaking loved this heroine!! My heroine-i-love shelf has mostly 4 or 5 star books which is quite telling! She had me chuckling quite a bit. I loved how she went after the H and didn't let her insecurities of being every guy's "buddy" stand in the way.

I also adored the H, Callahan, but it did take some time for me to. He came back from war messed up and was in no mood to start anything with anyone but the h just wormed her way into his heart. I usually prefer the H's to do the chasing but Trinity doing the chasing worked so well with these two. He didn't push her away the entire book which was much appreciated.

I didn't start loving this until I was half way through and they finally got together but it was so worth the wait!! I loved them together! They were just too cute.

4.5 stars! Loved! Loved! Loved!

Oh my goodness, I loved this story! Can you tell?

Set up: Callahan is back in the states after spending eight years as an Army Ranger. Emotionally scarred and traumatized by what he went through overseas, Callahan is this stoic statue with everyone and every situation. Callahan first meets Trinity while working at a bar that Trinity and her friends frequent. Callahan immediately hates her. Trinity is like this constant positive tornado. Her and her friends are home after graduating from college. It’s their last summer together before “growing up” and moving on. Trinity sees Callahan and at first wants him, but then realizes there is so much more to him; behind his stoic mask is this intense pain. Callahan won’t give her the time of day, but Trinity isn’t deterred. She is determined to break through Callahan’s walls and help him heal.

Hero: 5/5 stars! Oh how I want a Callahan. And what a great name. Callahan. Troubled, emotionally scarred, rugged, hot Callahan. I want to fix him as much as Trinity does. He was a wonderful character who ended up loving Trinity with all his heart. He was kind of the perfect H.

Heroine: 5/5 stars! It’s hard to impress me with heroines. I usually “tolerate” a majority of them, but Trinity was such an amazing character. There may be some people who won’t like her perkiness and constant sunshine, but I thought it fit with the story. She’s hilarious, a do-gooder, and has a huge heart. She’s not fake at all. I felt like she was completely genuine in all her actions which makes her lovable. I want more of her!

Sex scenes: 4/5 stars! The sex scenes that are detailed are well written and steamy. There are many that are glazed over, and while this is good because it doesn’t make the entire story about sex, I was wanting a little more detail at times.

Plot: 4/5 stars! What a great story. Seriously. This isn’t a heavy read, but still has a little angst, tons of heart, some sexiness, and amazing characters. The plot is basic, but I think that adds to the greatness of this story. Even though the story isn’t complicated, the people are still complex characters. LOVED!

What I loved: Well, almost everything. The Hero? Perfect. The Heroine? Perfect. The story? Pretty damn good. Secondary characters? Yes, please.

What I disliked: I felt like there were some time gaps that the author didn’t explain so they caught me off guard. For example, instead of a chapter starting with “2 weeks later” or something like that, there wasn’t anything. The time gap was in context but at times it took me by surprise. I also thought the ending was a little rushed.

Will I read this author again? Yes, definitely. I’m very interested in continuing this series.

In short: A sweet and funny read that isn’t without heart and steam.

Dirty Chai Latte Review of Inseverable

A Dirty Chai Latte consists of 1-ounce espresso, 4 ounces chai tea concentrate and 2 and 1/2 ounces milk. I have broken down Inseverable by these key ingredients.

Milk: Set in a small South Carolina Beach town we first meet a group of recent college graduates who have been friends since childhood. They are all lifeguards and enjoying their last summer together before heading off to college. A nice mix of guys and gals, Robson had me laughing, enjoying their comradery and envying their obvious bonds. I am so excited that this is a series and cannot wait to see which friend’s story we will get next. The story screamed summer and is the perfect beach read.
Chai Tea: The Grease soundtrack of Summer Lovin played in my mind as I lost myself in this slow building romance. Trinity is spending the last summer before heading off on a two-year stint with the Peace Corps. Callahan has just finished eight years of service in the Army as a sniper. He has come to the Carolina Beach to escape and refinish the house on Kiawah Island he inherited from his Uncle. The banter and snark between Trinity and Callahan was absolutely frickin’ priceless. I adored Trinity’s tenacity even as I blushed every time she opened her mouth. The chemistry was of the charts and felt so genuine that I became completely caught up in their story. Robson fleshed out both characters as their relationship progressed past his grumbles. I loved how she peeled back their layers. Trinity may be a little insecure, but she is funny and determined. She has incredible insight and the ability to make me laugh so hard she brought me to tears. I wanted to hug this book.
Espresso: All the feels Robson gave me as I devoured Inseverable provided that book high I am constantly craving. My stomach flipped right along with Trinity’s when we meet Callahan. I felt his emotional pain, experienced her fears and admired her on so many levels. The author made me feel Callahan’s pain and I began to sweat as I realized what the conflict would be in their story. I even stopped reading at one point and verbally talked out my feelings. Robson has this habit of ripping my heart out, and I quickly reached for a truffle. While we experience some angst, she does not torture us.  Although she did have me holding my breath and desperately wanting an HEA. One could label this New Adult, but Robson gave us a swoon-worthy romance any adult would love.

One of the things I've always loved about Cecy Robson is that she writes really great consistent characters. You never have what the heck moments with them and they are always relatable. That makes for good fiction for me because it doesn't put the story too far out of the realm of my possibility. She didn't disappoint with Callahan and Trinity.

Trinity is ridiculous. SO ridiculous I need her to be my friend. #TrueStory. I had SOOOOO much fun reading her and she balanced Callahan very well. Because Callahan has a really serious issue. PTSD. That is no laughing matter, but Trinity balanced him. Her characters made the bad not so bad .... because she was ri.di.cu.lous. LOLOLOLOL (I already want to re-read just to experience her again!)

As cute and humorous I may be making the story be, it really was much more. The story had a really big heart. And at times it broke and at times it warmed but it was always consistent with the end game :) I would definitely put this story in the ALL THE FEELS category and would encourage everyone to pick it up and give it a try!

Trinity was spunky, bright, quirky and sssooo funny plus she wasn't afraid to talk about sex with anyone or anywhere. Callahan was brooding, grumpy and very, very yummy. I loved how their relationship developed, and there was no insta-anything. Her friends and family were so great. I can't wait to read more about them. Nice epilogue.

Girl next door with sunshine oozing out her pores has her sights set on tall, dark, brooding Army Ranger who is hardened from the horrors of war.  Yep, this should be interesting...

Trinity ("Trin" to her friends) is a local on Kiawah Island in South Carolina and has come back to the island after college to work her last summer as a lifeguard with her oldest, best-est friends.  At the end of the summer, she'll be leaving for the Peace Corps, doing work she's done with her parents her entire life.

But Trin gets a wee bit sidetracked one night out at a favorite local bar when she gets a gander at the "smoking hot bartender with the Army Ranger tat inked to an arm as thick as my thigh".

“But ‘sex in a tight T-shirt’ isn’t impressed by her charm, and he sure isn’t captivated by mine. He scowls – as in scowls- which of course earns him a wink from me. Hey, sticks and stones, or whatever, I’m going to get this guy to smile…” - Trinity

That quote says it all.  I don't need to sum up the story anymore than that.

Ms. Robson surprises me this time around with something a little different.  Known for her awesome new adult contemporary romances and PNR, she went in a wee bit of a more humorous route (at least in regards to the character's personalities and wit) and used that humor to help get two polar opposite personalities together, in love... both of them happy with life!

Now, I've been reading and reviewing Ms. Robson's stories for a few years now so I'm sure you've "heard me" say she's a great story teller, she writes well, I love her character's intelligence, the romance is hot, yada, yada, yada...  And again, this all holds true again in Inseverable.  Honestly, with as many books as this woman is putting out, I didn't know she had it in her to surprise me and write an even more favorite book for me to love.  See?  I write bad but you get what I'm trying to say, right?

Okay, maybe not.  I LOVE rom-coms like nobody's business.  What Ms. Robson did was add super hilarious witty zingers and hilarious trains of thought to her signature romantic (albeit slightly angsty) stories and BOOM!  Love, love, LOVED IT!!!

It's a fast read.  It's a great summer read because it's based in the summer (um, duh).  And it has a great cast of supporting characters including a best friend to Trin, Becca, who couldn't name a superhero if her life depended on it ("Green Bumble Bee"?  Wow, that's really out there in left field, girlfriend!).

And even if I call this a rom-com, this won't be the usual bubble-gum fluff you're used to in a rom-com.  It has a quirky twist/message that teaches us all it's important not to toy with someone's emotions.

CALL THIS ROM-COM ON STEROIDS - THIS STORY HAS TEETH AND IT LEAVES LITTLE LOVE BITES ;)

tee, hee...

Inseverable was a book that I saw a fellow book blogger "Nadene" recommend and I instantly borrowed it from my local library. I have really fallen behind on reading this author's writing. I just loved this book, it was such a perfect summer type of read. I was so drawn into this audio and the I was impressed with how it was done. There was some special effects and ACTUAL singing being sung for song, it just added something more to it. I am so glad that I picked this up through audio. The romance was such a fun one. We have a grumpy sunshine type of dynamic. The hero is tortured, ex military, tortured hero type of man and likes to be left alone. Then we have our heroine who is bubbly and sweet and loves to chat a TON! So it brings together such a fun dynamic between these two. The only real issue that I had was the third act conflict, I felt like the heroine should have groveled more. I know this isn't the popular thing in romance, as most readers just want a big grovel from the hero. But it just felt so unsatisfying in how the heroine lied to the hero till the end and hurt him so deeply and he has to go and find her. I would have liked to see the heroine work for it a bit more if I am being honest. But it had a very sweet epilogue that most readers will find most satisfying and I am so intrigued by the group of friends that we see here. And I can't wait for the other books and already downloaded the second book.

I love the pure raw emotion Cecy manages to put in all of her books, whether romance, contemporary or PNR, they really do all have that emotional connection so many of us crave and love.

She has yet to let me down with one of her books and this series, isn't any different. So glad I finally picked this one up and am kicking myself I waited so long to do so.

Inseverable is the first story in Cecy Robson’s new adult series Carolina Beach. I’ve read a couple of her Shattered Past novels and really enjoyed them, and the plot (and cover!) of this new story appealed to me so I was quite happy to pick it up for review. Trinity is spending one more summer on Kiawah Island as a head lifeguard, before heading off in the fall for a two year Peace Corps assignment. She’s had her heart broken once but it hasn’t stopped her cheerful, indomitable spirit. She’s determined to enjoy this one last summer with her friends and co-workers. She’s not looking for a relationship, but the quiet newcomer behind the bar at her favourite hang out calls to her. Callahan is recently retired from his stint in the army, and using the summer, and the house he inherited from his uncle on the island to take stock of his life. He suffers from PTSD and isn’t interested in making any friends. But Trinity manages to slip past his guard and suddenly the future doesn’t look so desolate anymore. But what will happen when he finds out the woman he’s losing his heart to doesn’t plan to stick around?

Oh my goodness, do I love Trinity! She has to be one of my absolute favourite female characters that I’ve read in a new adult romance. Her cheerful indomitable spirit and unflagging optimism, combined with her friendly and generous actions and attitude made her such a sweetheart! She definitely comes across as the friend you can count on in a pinch and the one you can call when you’re in trouble. She loves everyone and everyone loves her – well, except for Callahan. To Callahan, who is absolutely not looking for any kind of friend as he sorts through his life, Trinity is like this annoying butterfly that keeps flitting around him. It was so funny the way he kept trying to ignore her, and she just kept coming back to coax him out of his shell, going so far as to show up really early on his morning run routes and making it her mission to coax a smile out of him. I just loved her genuine concern and care for Callahan and how she could sense that he needed someone to be persistent in their attention to prove to him that he was worth befriending. As Callahan starts to return her attentions, things heat up between them and a red-hot summer affair is the result.

While the initial part of the story was full of laughs and good humour as Trinity worked her magic on Callahan, it does turn to a more emotional story as Callahan shares his PTSD issues with Trinity (once he trusts her). Your heart breaks for this young man and what he’s gone through in his short life, but at the same time there is the hope that Trinity’s efforts will be a balm to his soul. I confess there were some tears on my end at some parts of the story to mingle with the laughs – but that just goes to show how involved I became in their relationship and how much I was rooting for this couple to succeed. But Trinity, when she realizes that she and Callahan are really coming to care for each other, knows that she’s made a mistake – her friends know she’s leaving at the end of the summer but Callahan doesn’t. Now that he’s found his heart and home with her, how can she rip that away from him? Aagh! So much tension in that second half as you wait for the news to come out and the fallout. It doesn’t seem possible that there could be a happy ending but the author skillfully weaves it all together into a truly wonderful (and sexy!) romance with a happy ending. I loved meeting all of Trinity’s friends too (lots of laughs in this group of obviously dedicated long time friends) and I can’t wait to read the next story in this series! 5 stars for a perfect summer beach read!

Whenever I pick up a book written by Cecy Robson, I expect to be entertained. 🎧︎Inseverable lived up to that expectation. The story oozed of witty banter and undeniable chemistry, and the audio production added an extra level of excitement.

🎧︎Inseverable, book one in Robson’s Carolina Beach series, (This is my second time visiting the series having read Infinite a few years ago), Robson delivered a story rife with emotions, one which will tug on the heart, make one laugh while fanning oneself to cool down from the sizzling intimate moments.

Robson delved into the tight bonds of friendship while delivering a romance between the unlikeliest couple, Trinity and Callahan. Trinity is bubbly, outgoing and has no filter. The moment she opens her mouth, one cannot help but fall in love with her. Poor Callahan never stood a chance. From the moment she sets her sights on him, he risk succumbing to her charms. Callahan came to Kiawah Island for some peaceful moments after spending eight years in the army. However, he never counted on meeting Trinity, the one woman who possessed the power to turn his life inside out.

Trinity and Callahan were good for each other. They came into each other’s lives at the right moment. Their interactions, which were witty, playful, passionate and solemn add to the story's enjoyment. It was great to see Callahan shedding his grumpy persona and embracing love and friendship.

Now as much as I loved Trinity, I did not approve of her failure to inform Callahan of a decision, which  she made it  before she met him, but would have a profound effect on their relationship. Her action created a small amount of drama, which thankfully was resolved.

The audio was superb, with it outstanding special effects and impeccable narration. This is my second experience with Tara Langella and my first with Lucas Webley. Tara narrated all the female voices and Lucas the male voices. This is my favorite type of narration. Tara did an excellent job portraying all the female characters. She captured every single emotion, personalities and her accents were spot on. Lucas’s low and sexy baritone. was perfect for the voice of Callahan. He also handled the other voices exceptionally well. The sound effects coupled with the narration made Inseverable the perfect listen.

So grab your earbuds/headphones and prepare for a journey of loss, healing and love. 🎧︎Inseverable is perfect for fans of slow burn romance. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

He came to find peace after seeing so much misery and death and she came for one last hurrah with her friends after college is over. They met on the beach...

Inseverable opens with Trinity and her childhood friends all coming to the beach to work as lifeguards and enjoy their last summer before careers, grad school, jobs, and the peace corps, in her case, pull them apart. Trin comes from money, but she's a selfless, happy person with a huge heart. She can't stand to see someone hurting and in need of rescue so she takes the grim, sad-eyed bartender at their favorite hangout as a challenge- and gets a shocker of her own when he helps mend what her cheating ex and ex-bestfriend did to her. But, she's leaving on a two year stint at the end of the summer so just where can their attraction and budding feelings go?

Inseverable was so many things, but it was above all a delightful surprise and perfect for folks looking for a solid romance for their summer beach read. I knew I'd like it- hey, I love this author's writing- and I knew I would get the feels mixed in with a few tickles to my funny bone. What I didn't expect was the feeling that this was a whole new world. Unlike some authors, with Robson, a new series means a new series and a fresh start not just same story that got a white-washing. I think I loved that most of all. I love her other series, but I love that each is unique and special in its own way.

So, the story actually started out a bit rocky for me. I was not impressed with Trin. To be frank, I thought she was a flake and a pushy do-gooder all rolled into one. But, I trust the author, so I hung in there and tolerated the weirdo heroine much like Callaghan until I got to see past the surface into the heart of Trinity. Ah, there's the smart, attractive, and adorable woman that all her friends glom onto and need at the center of their group. But, even when I was wincing over her antics, I loved that she was trying hard to get the broken and hurting soldier to get some joy from life and give her a try.
Callaghan had a really bad war. He was a sniper and saw and did stuff that won't let him go. He's trying to stay numb, but he's holding on by a thread when Trinity comes along. I liked that she helped him have better day, but the author didn't make the mistake of pretending that love and a good woman would fix him. It was neat that a surprising late entry to the story found him help and in a way that wouldn't strip him of his pride.
It's always the little things that this author gets very right. Oh, and the truly sexy men and fab women she puts in her romances.

The conflict in the book might seem like its just the act of getting this pair together as hard as Callaghan was resisting and as vulnerable as Trinity gets after she develops feelings when she wonders if she can trust him after what happened with her ex. But, no, Trin is holding something important back and readers will figure out that its only a matter of time when it blows up in her face. It wasn't a cut and dry issue and pain was going to happen. Oh the feels!

In the end, I laughed, shook my head, swooned, squirmed, and felt like I'd had an amazing experience as usual. I can't wait to see what comes next in the Carolina Beach series. Contemporary Romance fans looking for good times at the beach need to pick this one up.

Reviewed for: Where the Night Kind Roam

Ive been on a Cecy Robson contemporary roll as of late. I’ve just torn through six of them back to back and I was still ready for more; however, I’m now out of books. Le Sigh… So anyway, I think this was one of my favorites! Ok so at first I was not on #TeamTrinity she was a bit to “peppy” for me.. But like she does with Callahan she really grew on me until I found her quite endearing and thinking I could totally be friends with this chick. She’s loyal, caring and will do anything for her friends and she goes after what she wants. And what she wants is Callahan and she sets off to get him. She’s a total sweetheart who doesn’t see her outer beauty. She’s one of those gorgeous girls who doesn’t know they are gorgeous. My only issue with Trin, is she doesn’t tell Callahan something very important, but if she had we wouldn’t have had a grand gesture later so I guess I’ll forgive her for it, because I liked the grand gesture. : )

Callahan, man, I felt so bad for him. He’s got PTSD pretty bad. He knows that he does, so at least there is that. He knows he needs some help but he’s not quite ready for that step. He has no intentions of letting someone as peppy and annoying as Trinity into his life. All of his grumbling is quite humorous but little by little she wears him down with her smile and her running in barely there tight workout wear. LOL She refuses to give up on him and eventually she breaks through. You really start to see Callahan come out of his shell as the pages turn. There are even a few moments between Callahan and Trins father that really connect as they are both ex-special forces.

I ended up loving these two together, they just made each other better. A light shines when these two are together and anyone around is likely affected. We also have a strong supporting cast. All of Trinity’s friends are pretty awesome and as loyal and fierce as she is. They band together when things get bad and close ranks. Overall, really enjoyed this book. I devoured it, and I can’t wait for the next one.

5++ stars. This was one of my favorite books in a long time. Maybe it's my mood, maybe the characters, maybe the writing, I'm not sure but I loved every second of it. This story is about Callahan and Trinity and takes place in beach town in South Carolina. Callahan has spent the last 8 years as an Army Ranger doing 4 tours, seeing and doing things he will never forget. Trinity has just finished college and is spending one last summer with her best friends before they all leave to live grown up lives. When Callahan and Trinity first meet, she is so drawn to him but he fells annoyed with her because he came to this beach town for solitude and peace. Now normally I would hate when an h chases the H. It worked for this story and didn't bother me one bit. It had to happen for Trinity to break through Callahan's walls. Trinity is an amazingly well written character who spreads joy to anyone that is around her. She is so adored by her wonderful group of friends and it shows on every page. How could Callahan ever resist her? It doesn't take long until she becomes his light. I won't go into more of the story because readers need to experience it on their own. I adored Callahan even with his walls and broken soul. He deserved so much more than he thought. We not only get to know the two MCs but get to know the secondary characters as well that will have future books. You read about this group of friends and just wish you were a part of it. They all have such a deep love and respect for each other and no matter what always have each other's backs. There is also an amazing epilogue which is the cherry on top for me. I think the next book is Hale and Becca and I can't wait for their story. It's been a long time coming. I will definitely be reading more by this author and will be stalking her page for the release of Eternal.

***** 5 true love stars *****
☆☆☆☆☆

Beautiful, heart wrenching, funny are just a few of the adjectives used to describe this story. True love doesn't always come easy. Trinity and Callihan prove that true love will never give up.

At first, Callihan was a closed off, tormented shell of the man he once was. His uncle left him his house on Kiawah Island and he was content to remodel that house while working as a bartender at the local hangout. He was broody and didn't want to deal with anyone. After serving 4 tours in Iraq, being alone was all he thought he wanted. That was until a spunky little spitfire wormed her way right under his skin.

Trinity was home for one last summer with her friends before she headed off to the Peace Corp. Spunky, loyal, kind and hilarous, Trinity was the center of her friends lives even if she didn't realize it. After her last relationship ended with a betrayal, she wasn't even on the look out for a new one. That is until she sees, Callihan tending bar.

Initially Callihan was a tough nut to crack. But even this tough former Army Ranger couldn't stand up to all that Trinity was. Even though he tried to ignore her and keep her at arms length, he finally gave in. I thought this was on the angstier side of what I normally like but I loved this couple and their friends. Turned out to be such a sweet love story.

-hot broody alpha male
-sweet quirky heroine
-no cheating
-both were devoted to the other
-pushing away by the hero initially
-separation that lasted about 2 months (maybe one chapter of the book)
-her ex that cheated on her came back with his girlfriend to apologize but it didn't cause any problems for the couple
-fantastic secondary characters that I hope get safe stories as well
-sweet epilogue w/ HEA this is the first in a series so I hope we get more interaction with this couple.

Loved this! Heroine is one of my all time favorites- smart, witty, and has a backbone. And our hero- a true hero, wounded soul, broody hot type- yum. On top of all that, really good writing! I will be back for more Cecy Robson.

Review: This review can also be found here at my blog. I just love how Cecy Robson always manages to write stories that have the perfect mix of rawness, emotion and humor.I've been a fan of hers ever since I read her Weird Girls series and her contemporary romance novels are equally great.

As the summary describes, we have Callahan-an ex-army sniper, who has dedicated years in service to the nation and has seen unspeakable horrors that have left him reeling with nightmares and PTSD.He inherits his uncle's house on Kiawah Island and starts working as a bartender hoping to finally get some peace and reprieve. He isn't really interested in meeting anyone or making friends.

On the other hand, we have Trinity, who was raised on the island. She is just recovering from a bad relationship, where the guy she thought she loved, cheated on her with one of her best friends and they never apologized to her.Her family despite being well-off has always taught her to help those in need, so she has enlisted in the Peace Corps and decides to spend one last summer on the island with her close knit group of friends before she heads off.She and her friends work as lifeguards.

When they go out partying one night, she sees Callahan and she is determined to befriend this broody, hot guy.In the beginning Callahan is very disinterested and keeps pushing her away, but Trinity is relentless in her determination and manages to strike up a friendship with him which soon turns into something more larger that neither of them could have ever anticipated. So, will Callahan let Trin in?And what will happen when he finds out she is leaving after the summer? Will it be just a summer fling or a forever thing?Read the book to find out!

I loved Trinity's character!Let me tell you, most people would find such perky,happy-go-lucky,optimistic people annoying.I almost did. But, its really hard not to love her sweetness, concern for others and the goodness in her heart! She wormed her way into my heart just as she did with Callahan. They were a perfect match for each other!Callahan with his demons and reticence needed someone who was willing to push him out of his shell and make him laugh a little. And that's what Trinity does-she becomes the light in his dark days.

Callahan's broodiness also wasn't overdone. He didn't really have that tortured-hero vibe thankfully. He was a realistic hero who was suffering the aftermath of the war that has affected millions.Trinity's friends were also really awesome, especially Becca.Trinity's family also played a large part and I am glad for that.I loved her parents and her brother. The dinner scenes were absolutely hilarious!

The intensity of Trinity and Callahan's relationship was just perfect. Some moments brought tears to my eyes.It has a little bit of the angsty feel to it, but I loved the mix of that along with the romance and connections that just tugged at my heartstrings. The epilogue was just perfect *swoons*.Can't wait to read Becca and Hale's story.

So, as I mentioned before, if you're looking for a read with the perfect combination of intensity, romance and sweetness, this is it!And be sure to give Cecy Robson's other books a try, as they are beautiful in the same way as this one. :D

So much love for Inseverable, from the first page I knew this was going to be my kind of read.

The storyline was emotional, entertaining with believable, relatable and likable characters.
Callahan was dealing with PTSD and the only way he could get through the day was by shutting down and not feel.
And then Trinity comes into his life...

I absolute loved Trinity/Trin!
She was such a fun and entertaining character, loved everything about her. She was sweet, funny, adorable and had the biggest heart.
I'd love to have a friend like her in my life.

In the beginning I wasn't too sure about Callahan. He was moody, grumpy and not very talkative. He would ignore Trin, he found her annoying and wasn't very nice to her :(
But Trin wasn't going to be pushed away. She could see that underneath this cold/rude front was a good man in pain. Trin was determined to bring some sunshine into his life, something kept drawing her to him.

description

So many feels watching this gruff of a man slowly appear from the mile high walls he had built. We got to see this sensitive, caring, sexing man who loved with all his heart.... *swoon*

description

It was heartwarming watching Callahan and Trin connect and fall in love, they were so good together and for each other.
I had no doubt these two had a love that would last a lifetime.
And that epilogue? I couldn't stop smiling, all the feels!!

What a great start to the Carolina Beach series by Cecy Robson. Inseverable was a beautifully written romance that will touch your heart and I highly recommend this book!

Callahan Sawyer may not have wanted to feel anything, but if you read this book—and you should read this book—you're bound to feel everything. I certainly did. I'm not sure I know how many times Inseverable hit my feels hard enough to spring tears to my eyes; three, at least. More, most likely.

And not just tears of pain or hurt, either. Tears of happiness, too. Of laughter. Because this book had all of those things stitched into its page. I'm a fan of Cecy Robson, her Shattered Past and O’Brien Familyseries two of my favorites, both proving to be equal part heartfelt and hilarious. As a consequence, I went into Inseverable with high expectations, only to find them all met…and exceeded.

Callahan… *Sigh* What a man he was. Broken, alone and yeah, more than a little grumpy, he checked all my Book Boyfriend boxes; he was caring and gentle under a tough, take-no-prisoners exterior, balancing sexy, dirty and strong with loving, vulnerable and needy. He was alpha without ever being growly and over-the-top (okay, maybe there was one, hot growly reference). Above it all, he had a beautiful but shattered heart and soul. And oh, if that wasn't responsible for some of my tears…

He was perfectly contrasted with Trinity Summers, the bright, friendly, girl-next-door, who was deeper and concealed more under her surface than Callahan—or I—realized. I absolutely adored this girl. Her persistent, almost annoying demeanor, the way she forced Callahan out of his shell, was hilarious. Also, touchingly sweet. Her kindness and her openness were beautiful, and she inspired strong friendships with secondary characters (Hale and Becca, please!!) who I can wait to read more about. Oh, and she had a family that was just…amazing—and amusing.

Together, the love that slowly burned and grew between them was something true. Right. And so damn good, I couldn't contain my laughter, or my smile, or even those pesky tears. Which I wouldn't have wanted to. While both Callahan and Trinity made mistakes and proved that even fictional people aren't perfect, they were unerringly human, and completely lovable. This is just the start of a new series by Ms. Robson, and already a favorite. I can't wait for more. ~ Beth, 5 stars

Already Robson was becoming one of my favorite authors but Inseverable is the one that sealed the deal. Inseverable shows Robson's different writing style and I couldn't get enough of this new setting and the new characters that were introduced.

Callahan is back on U.S. soil from spending years being an Army Ranger. He is still trying to find his footing while being back. He first meets Trinity when he is working in the bar where her and her friends come during the summer. Upon meeting Trinity he realizes she is like no one else and is a mini tornado. The more he ignores her the more she puts into trying to get to know him. Every time he looks around she is their and Callahan isn't sure how to handle her.

Trinity just graduated from college and this is the last summer with her friends before real life sets in. When Trinity firsts sees Callahan she wants him but she knows there is more to him.

I really loved Trinity and Callahan separate and together. Trinity was a positive person yet a little quirky. She was determined not to give up on Callahan even though she was just recently hurt by her ex. Callahan is the scarred hero who wants to be left alone but I loved how after meeting Trinity he starts to find her cute but still annoying and looks forward to spending time with her even though she does all the talking.

I felt this story had the right amount of sex scenes that balanced out the romance between these characters. Some were more detailed then others but you pretty much got the drift as these two started to become more serious about one another.

As far as the story goes I liked it a lot. Robson made it different but I really enjoyed how everything flowed together. I even enjoyed getting to know Trinity's friends throughout reading and really loved how close they all were.

Overall the ending was just okay for me. It felt a little rushed but I loved getting a look into the future of Callahan and Trinity. It also started the set up for the next book in this series and after reading about those two characters in this story I can honestly say I can't wait!
