Arlene also teaches a group of creative women in the coastal town of Tillamook, Oregon how to make interesting things by wrapping string around two sticks. Supporting Arlene in her writing endeavors are her husband, children and her feline companion Lydia.
This book started out slow and rather confusing but it picked up quickly. Deann is part of a quilter group that is making quilts for people who donate 10,000 to a missing and exploited children center. DeAnn is happy her half sister , Molly, has arrived but Molly wants the quilting group to help her figure out what happened to her when she was 5 and who killed her playmate. Lots of twists and turns before they figure it out.
I felt as if there were still a lot of loose ends at the end of the story. I am still confused on why things happened the way they did. What was the motivation? I suppose that may be how it really is with human trafficking.
Human trafficking. Missing & exploited children and the Loose Threads quilters asked to make quilts for major donors to the cause. What happened to Amber all those years ago that Molly can't remember or stop trying to unravel her memory? What will the quilters do to help?
Human trafficking has become a huge problem in our country today. I commend the author for her approach to this issue. The story line of this book got a bit confusing for this reader, fortunately it was cleared up in the end.
This story is one of the most exciting I've read in a long time. The characters seem so real that I get lost in the story, then it's over before I realize it.
Murder mystery starring long-arm quilter Harriet Truman and her quilt group, the Loose Threads. The theme in this mystery is missing children and human trafficking.
4 stelle e mezzo. Un bel libro, con un mistero che non sono riuscita a risolvere ed il solito bel gruppo di personaggi. Questa serie è sicuramente fra le mie preferite.
This was without question the best novel in this estimable series. I was enthralled with the plot, storyline, characters, and adventure. When you read the little blurb on the cover, you think 'ah, well this is another quilting cozy murder mystery.' What you get is pure logical, romantic, and current day issues that happen to occur to a quilting group of friends.
Harriet Truman, owner and quilter of a long-arm quilting business is implored by the half sister of one of the quilting group to aid in finding out what happened to herself and her friend twenty years ago. Molly survived but Amber never was found. Molly is damaged and has become obsessive over the past...leading to her asking the amateur sleuths (quilting group) to help her find the answers. What the group, and especially Harriet and her Aunt Beth finds, is they are now the focus of murderous intentions...but why?
What did happen to Amber and Molly? Twenty years and changes in technology may provide answers if only some one can find clues.
This novel grips you into the world of disappearing persons and children. It re-awakens you to the facts that our world is not insular and crime does happen in the most unlikely places.
An excellent read and I hope the Author is busy penning a new one.
