They know a thousand ways to kill...and zero ways to love.
As a Battle Bunny, honed in the fires of hell, Bailey fights every day just to function. Blind since birth, the skills he learned to protect himself after years of torture at the hands of a sadistic scientist keep him alive, but nothing can protect him from the mate he discovers on a rescue mission.
Harvey Blackstone watched his brother die a slow agonizing death from behind the bars of the cage he had been tossed into. He vowed revenge on those that took his only family, if he survives that long.
When the doors opened and the most stunning man he had ever seen steps inside, Vey is close to death. Discovering the man who rescues him is also his mate seems like a gift from the gods. Claiming Bailey is not the same as keeping him safe. The scientists that kept him prisoner are after them all, and it will take more than a family of Battle Bunnies to keep them all safe. It will take a miracle.
About Me I believes the only thing sexier than a man in cowboy boots is two, or three men in cowboy boots. I also believes in love at first sight, soul mates, true love, and happy endings.
I live in the great Northwest region of the USA, with my gorgeous husband and soul mate, two boxer/collie puppies, one old biddy cats, and three fish. When I'm not being a mother to my six teenagers or cleaning up after my two 70 pound lap puppies, you can usually find me cuddled in bed with a book in my hand and a puppy in my lap. Or on my laptop, creating the next sexy man for one of my stories.

A bunny shifter and a gargoyle..how cool is that! This was a super cute mate story with a little action to go along with. It definitely hit the spot and was just how I like my mate stories.
The concept of ninja bunnies tickled me silly! I mean it even sounds cute - "Battle Bunnies"! I liked that small prey shifters were portrayed strong and in charge even after enduring much in life. Too many times it's not the case.
Bailey is a blind battle bunny shifter. He is the youngest and he constantly feels the need to prove himself to his brothers. And then he meets his mate Harvey who is a gargoyle captured by scientists to experiment on. As mates they have super crazy chemistry and mesh well except when Harvey aka Vey becomes overprotective and a tad too possessive. But they find the compromise.
Whole book is full of danger, escapes and near death experiences. We get a little glimpse at who is possibly running the show behind those nasty labs torturing paranormals. I really liked this book. There were funny and sarcastic moments, plenty of S*E*X and sometimes sweet romance. It's an awesome start for a new series. But then I just dig battle bunnies! I mean how adorable that is!!!
There is so much wrong in this book that I don't know where to start!
Is this a retake at the comic Daredevil? A blind bunny who is a martial arts expert
This book is the first in a series and I think it shows. A lot of characters are introduced, but none is really fleshed out properly, not even the MCs.
The concept of nonthreatening bunnies going to battle is intriguing, but it does not follow through. With a weak first book I'm uncertain if I'll continue the series at all.
Hmm, I can do possessive, but this was a bit much for me. Vey's favorite sentence was, "I will not allow that."
But besides that this had too much plot and too little relationship development for me. The idea of bunny shifters rescuing shifters that are experimented on is interesting though. But I won't be reading the rest.
You have to love it when two great authors work together like this!
This is book one in a series and so it does a bit of world-building. There are 5 “Battle Bunnies” – a litter of bunnies who were sold to a lab and experimented on (aka tortured) for years by an evil scientist and now (after having escaped) they have some extra special powers and a vendetta to rid the world of labs that experiment on shifters.
In this case, Bailey, the runt of the litter, blind at birth, finds his mate in a lab where he and his brother’s are on a rescue mission. Vey (aka Harvey) is a Gargoyle and he’s been tortured to near death and forced to watch his brother die in the hands of the scientists.
Now, Bailey and Vey have to navigate the world as a couple and do so while continuing the Battle Bunnies mission to save shifters.
** This book is fun and sexy, sweet and funny… it pretty much has it all! Vey is a typical alpha male who wants to protect Bailey, but Bailey refuses to let him.
The other brothers find their mates in this book as well, so I look forward to learning more about their characters and mates in the next installments.
To add to the yummy goodness of the book, bunnies can get pregnant! So… in addition to worrying about his sweet little bunny shifter, we get to watch these guys go through Bailey’s heat cycle and pregnancy too!
I worried that a series by the name of 'Battle Bunnies' might be written a little hokey, but Stormy Glenn and Bellann Summers didn't disappoint. This was a wonderful beginning to a new series and I'm definitely looking forward to more.
Bailey is a wonderful main character, as is Vey, although I'm not telling what kind of paranormal Vey is. You'll need to read the book to find out. All of the brothers are unique and I'm excited about each of their future stories. I'm most curious about Barclay and the duck. What's up with that? LOL
This book was a surprise. I really picked it because I couldn't figure out how bunnies could become warriors. I had a great time reading it though. It kind of reminded me of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I was okay with that. To me, it made the book more fun yet because it made me think of when I was young and use to watch them all the time.
I love the whole mpreg aspect of the book. It is rare that I don't like a book with male pregnancy in it though. It is just an extra dynamic that I usually find amusing.
I also liked that Bailey was blind. His ability to pick up on sounds that his brothers couldn't enhanced the team. I think it was a little questionable taking someone blind on raids. I had to suspend common sense to get through that. I enjoyed it and liked that they explained his ability to get around in a new place because of all the information they gathered. It was a stretch, but I still had fun with it.
I Think what I liked the best about the book is the author's ability to catch my attention and keep it. There is never a dull moment and I didn't want to put the book down. I know because of that alone, I'll be checking out the rest of this series.
I absolutely love the battle bunny brothers. The whole concept is just fabulous and the characters are so interesting. I can't wait to read all of their stories.
My only disappointment is I went to order physical copies of the whole series for my collection and they went out of stock. Big cry. Please bring them back because I seriously want to physically own these!
I've been waiting a long time read this series and this story in particular ever since it was announced as a Work in Progress. I have an affinity for blind protagonists and it also helps that Stormy Glenn is one of my all time favourite gay romance authors, along with a newer though no less exciting author, Bellann Summer. What a combo and I was not able disappointed.
Bailey and his litter of Bunny brothers were cruelly experimented on for many years by evil Human researchers that didn't spare pain or lives. When they finally escaped they made it their mission to help other shifters get out of the clutches of similar monsters. In order to accomplish this, the brothers had to train like soldiers and incorporate the mercenary and merciless tactics that were practiced on them, in order to attack the scientists' laboratories and free other shifters.
Like another set of mutant sewer dwellers these legendary Bunnies seemingly disappeared after each disruption and rescue. But during one fateful coordinated attack on a research / torture lab, blind Bailey whose other heightened senses helped scout out the perimeter guards and locations of entrapped souls in agony, discovered an intriguing scent he'd never encountered before.
What he'd found was so shocking, he hesitated. A mate scent? It just couldn't be possible, especially for a defective shifter like himself. A mate was something he'd yearned for, but never never imagined he'd be lucky enough to find him. With trepidation he moved forward. And was overwhelmed by the smell of death. Was he too late?! No! Now that he finally found what he'd always imagined was impossible. And why couldn't he distinguish what type of shifter his mate was? While Bailey hadn't been too late in finding his mate, he still almost lost something even more precious, his own life.
This is a rip roaring, rooting tooting, action filled book. Yosemite Sam couldn't have said it better himself. Bailey has four brothers who are just as skilled and reckless as him. All dedicated to freeing captured shifters and blowing up facilities. Their hatred of the researchers keeps them going. The intense pain they'd experienced made them determined to find the head scientist / sadist that had enslaved as babies, and practiced such cruel unethical experiments on them.
The brothers have a bond stronger than most. They can communicate with each other telepathically, which is extremely helpful as they tackle the task of rescuing hurt shifters and shutting down or rather destroying desolate research facilities and the mad scientists running them. They are very protective of each other, but especially of Bailey. This meant even against his mate. They took their roles of protectors seriously. Including bringing the rescued shifters to a secret location that thus far their bitter enemies have not been able to discover. Here the injured received medical attention before sent home or to another safe haven.
I can't wait to read about the other brothers finding their mates. I've already purchased the other four books in the series: Baxter, Beaumont, Barclay, and Basil. These action jammed packed shifter stories should be at the top of anyone's To Be Read pile. So many books so little time.
“Battle” and “bunnies” is not a combination that I have ever even thought of before. With bunnies being little fluffy things, the idea of them turning into black-ops-type battle ninjas is just a little off – apparently off enough for Stormy Glenn and Bellann Summer to take it, make it their own, and run with it. The result is a very entertaining first story in a new paranormal series, set in a world that promises fun, surprises, and adventures of the oddest kind.
Bailey and his brothers have been through hell. Captured when they were babies, sold, and used for cruel experiments by so-called scientists, they have finally taken life into their own hands. They are now a fighting unit out to free other shifters from labs all over the country. It just goes to show how even the meekest creatures can become dangerous when they are tortured to the point of needing to fight back – or die. Bailey is determined to carry his weight in their operations, never mind that he is blind. He was born that way and has learned to more than compensate with his other senses; he is an essential part of the “Battle Bunny” attack force.
Harvey – Vey – is a rare shifter type, and has been captured and tortured by evil scientists. Bailey frees him, much to Vey's amazement since he never thought a blind man could be as useful as Bailey turns out to be. But there is more to their story – Vey soon figures out that Bailey is his mate, and goes all possessive on him. Bailey won’t stand for it, and the ensuing battle of wills – all while they try to get to safety - was as intense as it was entertaining.
When Bailey and Vey bond they are in for a major surprise that had me grinning. I’m sure the consequences will show up in the next book, as will a few of the secondary characters. There are some wolves, a mysterious duck, a traitor, and more evil scientists than should be legal. All signs of much more fun to come, or so I hope.
If you like paranormal stories with a touch of humor, if two men who need to find a way to live together despite their different natures are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is as entertaining and funny as it is suspenseful and hot, then you will probably like this novella.
NOTE: This book was provided by Siren Publishing for the purpose of a review on Rainbow Book Reviews.
Bailey has been blind since birth but that hasn’t stopped him from righting wrongs. As a member of the Battle Bunnies, he rescues those being experimented upon and killed. Vey is one such man. He is expecting to die not finding a mate but can he reign in his possessive nature and allow Bailey his independence? Bailey is the first in this new series by Stormy Glenn and I must say it started with a bang! Bailey has learned to compensate for his lack of sight with the enhanced nature of his other senses. When he rescues Vey, he finds himself struggling with the limitations his newly minted mate is comfortable with. I loved how much Bailey was willing to bend but drew the line when his independence was at stake. He has lived and survived this long and understands his limitations and strengths, now he just needs patience while his mate learns that disabled does not mean less than. Vey doesn’t mean any harm. He has lost the only family he has and was inches from death. Holding too tight is the least of his worries especially when the danger isn’t over. I love how Ms. Glenn allowed these characters to learn their boundaries. Bailey wasn’t used to taking someone else’s feelings into account when he does what he does. Vey has waited so long for a mate his fear may cost him the very thing he desires. Finding a middle ground isn't easy but Ms. Glenn makes it appear almost easy between these two characters. I enjoyed this new series and am looking forward to seeing the rest of Bailey’s friends find what fate has in store.
I really started off liking this... and then it fizzled a bit for me.
I felt like part of the plot was skipped over when meeting up with the wolves that help out. The group then goes to a scouted mansion, Bailey has a revolution that he's fertile.. oh back up a sec.... Vey and Bailey had sex, felt threads of soul coming together, Vey bit Bailey...BUT they aren't mated YET... only the knot completes the process.. or IS the process? I found that confusing..
Ok, so fertile, marathon sex, preggers.... and .......................................... Skip ahead, don't blink and think you missed something, but Bailey is almost ready to give birth and is in nesting mode, and then concluse that one of the wolfie boys is on his way for his own bunny (yeah.. saw that coming a mile away)
Conclusion.. a little too much skipped over had a definite impact on my perception of the story. It could have been better with some more filler.
I can't say I've ever read a book about bunny shifters who are ninja-like and super bad-ass. Who knew? In the first book we have Bailey, the runt of the litter who was born blind. He and his brothers are on a mission to free other captured shifters because they were also experimented on when they were younger. During a rescue Bailey finds Harvey (Vey), a gargoyle shifter who has been tortured for months. Oh yeah, and Vey is his mate. And he's very overprotective which drives Bailey crazy. I can see where some interesting things are going to happen with this series and the idea is so unique, I'll probably gobble these up.
Ok, there are issues but it was a fun read. I love these sort of reads. They are "feel good" reads for me. (I love to read them when I need a pick me up.)
So the characters are cute and funny. This is a very typical shifter story. Big, possessive "top" and smaller, submissive but wanting to be independent "bottom". Insta-love and all that that some people don't enjoy. Still the story is cute and warming. It was a good start to a series.
I love my heroes succeeding over adversity and disabilities, Bailey is Awesome. He sees more with his other senses than most see with their eyes. I can understand his frustration with his brothers and their overprotection. Vey blends in perfectly with the Bunny family. An excellent start to this series.
No, I am not an extremely quick reader, I just can't handle the rest of this book. I'm not a fan of "I-just-met-you-an-hour-ago-but-I-know-you-are-my-soul-mate" books. I don't expect to finish this. It'll probably just sit in iBooks on my iTouch for months. I'm moving on to another book in my reading list.
This was Outstanding , great and I can't wait to read the next one I'm going to be watching for it.....A Big Wtg to Stormy Glenn and Bellann Summer outstanding both of them....
This is a really cool idea of a group of Bunny shifters who having escaped being experimented on now rescue others, this first book features Bailey, the youngest brother who is born blind
There are many, many things that bugs me in these kind of stories. But I always compare them to harlequin stories and somehow... I find myself a lot more forgiving for things that would annoy me in other stories. And I can even enjoy myself
