Montana Wilds #2

Conquering Love

Rate this book
(A Funny Sexy Standalone Romance)

Christie thought escaping to the dude ranch in rural Montana would help her forget. With a past like hers, intimacy is no longer an option, and running seems the only way. But when she meets a handsome and carefree ranch hand, suddenly his touch is all she can think about.

Greg hasn’t given much thought to settling down. He’s happy working the ranch and living off the land. But the troubled yet spunky Christie has his head spinning and his heart aching. He’d sacrifice anything to see her smile.

With Greg’s support, Christie must finally face the fears of her past. To fail would be to lose the one man that made her feel alive again.

A wine country native, I moved to San Francisco for college just shy of a decade ago to pursue a lifelong interest in film. As I settled into the vibrant city, it quickly became apparent that, while I thought making and editing films was great fun, I lacked cinematic genius. For that reason, my career path quickly changed direction. My next goal was a strange childhood interest, conjured at the dining room table while filling out a form. For some reason, my young self wanted to be an Accountant. Thinking on it now, I wonder how I had any friends. Regardless, it was the direction I finally took.

While I could wrangle numbers with the best of 'em, and even though I wore the crown as the most outspoken, belligerent accountant in the world, my mind got as stuffy as my daily routine. It was here that I dusted off my creative hat and began writing.

Willow Summers does it again. I don’t know how she does it, but every time I pick up one of her books, I’m instantly pulled right back into her world like I never left. I absolutely love this series — honestly, I love everything she writes — and this book reminded me exactly why. She has that rare talent where you don’t just read the story, you feel like you’re standing right there beside the characters, soaking up every bit of their sorrow, anger, hope, and laughter.

Christie’s journey hit me harder than I expected. She’s carrying so much pain, and you can feel every ounce of it in the way she moves through the world. Escaping to a ranch in Montana was supposed to be her way of hiding from the past, not confronting it. But then Greg shows up — steady, patient, and so full of quiet strength — and suddenly she’s feeling things she thought she’d buried for good. The chemistry between them is sweet and slow and real, the kind that sneaks up on you and refuses to let go.

Greg is exactly the kind of hero Willow Summers writes so well. He’s not flashy or over-the-top; he’s genuine. He cares deeply, he listens, and he wants nothing more than to see Christie smile again. Watching him fall for her, and watching her try to believe she deserves that kind of love, was honestly beautiful.

The whole story is this perfect mix of heartache and healing, with just enough humor and warmth to keep you smiling even when the emotions get heavy. Willow has a way of balancing those moments so naturally that you never feel overwhelmed — just connected.

In the end, it all comes down to one question: can Christie and Greg overcome the past to move forward together? Watching them try, stumble, and try again kept me turning the pages. Another heartfelt, emotional, wonderfully written romance from Willow Summers.

Good read, interesting storyline; Greg and Christie have been friends for a year and Greg wants it to be more but Christie has issues from her past she can't get over and hasn't talked to Greg about them, he has been patient and understanding, but Christie doesn't realize what she could loose until it's almost too late

So good

It was good to read about Christie and Greg’s romance. The story was well written with some interesting twists and some angst. As always there was great supporting friends and good story beyond the romance. I wanna read about Noah next or even Jake.

Willow Summers does it again in this sexy standalone romance. She captures you with just enough comedy and a bit of everything else to keep you reading. I just love her books.

Annoying wrong word issues. Considering her history, the sex was too much too fast and clearly more for some readers than fitting the story. Liked the characters before that. Low 3

Well i must say that i was really curious what wil happen in this book. I read almost every book from Willow and i enjoyed every one of them. So i had high expectations for this one. And oo boy it was good.
Christy is amazing woman, she has her scars from the past, wich she hides realy well. She is constantly putting on that happy face but there is light for her and his name is Greg. He somehove see through her happy face.
I simply enjoyed this book, i read it all evening and into early morrning. At times i cried and i wanted to punch someone specific in the book, but i laughed as often too. (My men was looking at me like i have two hads, then he just went to sleap ;-) )
I hope there will be another book in this series, i would like to se other characters with their story.
Because i don't want to give any spoilers i will stop, or i will tell too much. If you liked previous romances from Willow, you will enjoy this one.

I love this book, and this series. I am a huge fan of Surviving Love, so when Summers mentioned she was coming out with another book in this series, I was excited! Now, after reading this book, I can't tell you which one is my favorite, because they are both tied for first place. This book had me laughing, crying, excited, anxious, and literally yelling out loud at some of the characters (my husband thought I was crazy). This book definitely deserves a place on my bookshelf!

Oh this story! Take a strong, sexy, sensitive cowboy and just add a hard headed, broken woman and watch the sparks fly! Of course it takes someone else setting her sights on Greg for Christie to realize that she doesn't want someone else to be with him but once she acknowledges that then the real fun begins. I laughed so hard at times, I cried and of course I fell in love!

Great book!!!

I so loved this book. Greg was such a great guy. He and Christie had me LOL so much throughout the book. I loved their banter. Christie was such a strong girl but she struggled with her past. I was so glad Greg could help her overcome her fears and be with him. Just such a great story.

I was really excited for this book because I Just love Christie and Greg. My only complaint was that I felt the whole Paige thing dragged on for too long. Greg and Christie were only together for probably about the last 30% of the book, and I wanted more of that. Overall, it was a great book was enjoyable characters.

Once again Willow Summers has delivered a fabulous read. This is the story of Christie and Greg, and theirs is beautifully told; humour, sorrow, raunchy sex scenes, but at heart of it love. Can't wait to find out which rancher will have their story told next.

This book was such a joy to read. Greg is a patient man who knows what he wants and Christie has a troubled past. You just can't help but root for Greg and hope Christie can overcome that past. The story sucks you in and I didn't want to stop reading.

Very good read! Christi is one amazing woman. She doesn't let you see how sad she is on the inside with the big ol smile she wears on the outside. Greg is one hell of a patient caring and understanding man that i wish all men could be like.!
