Not recommended. The subject matter is of great importance to me, but this book was just not well-written. It jumps from topic to topic, and completely leaves out important parts that I thought would have been present in a SIMON AND GARFUNKEL bio, for example the state of their relationship during the 1993 NYC performance run. Also, where have you gone, 2009 S&G tour in Japan and Australia? The last chapters are so rushed...blink and you’ve missed a decade.

Art dates Penny AND marries his wife IN THE SAME SENTENCE. The author doesn't mention Art's walks because he finds it boring. Ummm, excuse me but why are you writing a bio about them, then? Readers of biographies are looking for interesting back stories and tidbits about the musicians. This book does not have anything enticing. And there are mistakes too. Everyone and their dog knows Paul did NOT take 9-year old Harper to Graceland. The reunion tour was in 2003, not 2004. And I wonder how Robert Hilburn would feel, being adressed as Kilburn.

After mentioning the 3rd single from an album, I do not care anymore about knowing whether a number made it to number 19 or 31 on the charts. I don't need to read the author's personal opinion on their solo albums. And I could definitely do without the digs at both Paul and Art, without the author adressing the reader and without having to read about his bad experience with other audience members at a Paul Simon concert.

The bibliography consists of eight books. Eight. That is including his own previously written work on Paul from 1973. Please. No student would be able to graduate with eight books in their master's thesis' bibliography. Failed your classes, Spencer.

Anyway, next.

Mereciam uma história mais bem contada. Mas entretém. Um "tesourinho" para guardar perto dos vinis e do DVD do grande concerto no Central Park de 1982. 🙊

Save your valuable time and don't waste it reading this book! Horribly written and poorly referenced. My only question, where was the editor when this was in the works??
