The art presented here is beautiful, and there is a wide variety of art styles on display, so you are sure to find something you like. My only complaint is that the text is printed in gray ink, so at times it was difficult to read when lighting conditions were not ideal.
Those who expect a detailed guide to sketching will be surely disappointed here. However, this is actually a very nice collection of 50 different artists which all give insight into their sketchbooks and approach to sketching, when they do it, why and with which tools. Probably ideal for those, who already know their way around th ebasic techniques and want to solidify their routines and habits.
Fantastic book with a wide variety of artists and styles, images very clear and I could spend hours pouring through it. There's text from each artist as well talking about themselves, their work, and where they draw inspiration from. 10/10 would recommend.
The book is packed with a bunch of awesome and diverse artworks, sketches, tips, and cool artists. I stumbled upon some really amazing new artists in there. But to be honest, I was hoping for something more structured to really help me sketch characters from my imagination, when I bought this book. Instead, almost every double spread introduces a new artist, including general info and a written introduction by them + a selection of their work, leaving only limited space for actual tips.
Another minor complaint would be, that some of the shown art pieces, weren't really sketches, in my opinion. Clearly a lot of time, effort and details went into them. Which is cool, but it's not what I have in my mind when I think about the work "sketch". I was hoping for more "skeches" , so more loose, unfinished, and quicker stuff.
But hey, despite my nitpicks, there's still plenty to appreciate in the book. It's a treasure trove of creativity and talent that's definitely worth exploring.
Great book for inspiration! The artists that are featured in this book are all very different in art style and very talented! This book also gives a little insight on each artist’s thoughts in character design and their art tips and inspirations.
It’s interesting if you want nice art in various styles.
I was hoping for more advice about drawing from the imagination. It’s interviews with artists asking their history with art, preferred mediums/tools, and what’s their inspiration, with a tiny bit of advice sprinkled in the mix.
Its a good book for reference and stiles but it gets repetitive way too quickly, wish it very sad. I don't know if i would recomend this book for advance artist or even for very young creator bcs it dosent teach u usefull ways or insight ways to create.
