CODING FOR KIDS . . . Because it’s never too early to start developing!
Coding and web-design skills are becoming more and more important in our technological world. These concept books will familiarize young ones with the kind of shapes and colors that make up web-based programming language and give them the head start they need.
Help your little ones learn how to specify web-safe colors with this hexadecimal lift-the-flap book, and get them started on the visual patterns and symbols that make up the essential building blocks of the web.
Babies are introduced to the world of web colors and their different values in this advanced lift-the-flap book. Hex colors and RGB values are discussed, along with some basic elements of color, and different swatches are shown with a flap to lift that shows the color’s value.
While this book is incredibly cool and colorful, this is not a book that babies can read. It was made by a web designer to read to his kid, and it seems like more of a gimmick book that is really aimed at adults. Kids would be attracted to all of the colors and the flaps they can interact with, but there would be minimal to no content comprehension.
This was a surprise find in the clearance section of Barnes and Noble yesterday. It's a darling little book about colors-- but focused on how RGB works. I'm planning to use it with my journalism class when we discuss color. Our yearbook program uses Pantone colors, but I want them to understand the basics of how RGB works, so this will be good.
when i first picked this book up, i thought it would be terribly boring for squee, but turns out she loved it! the pop up tabs were nice, but she especially loved just looking at the rows and rows of little boxes with different shades of greens, reds and blues.
