About the author

C.G. Cooper

C. G. Cooper is the USA TODAY and AMAZON BESTSELLING author of the CORPS JUSTICE novels, several spinoffs and a growing number of stand-alone novels.

One of his novels, CHAIN OF COMMAND, won the 2020 James Webb Award presented by the Marine Heritage Foundation for its portrayal of the United States Marine Corps in fiction. Cooper doesn't chase awards, but this one was special.

Cooper grew up on a steady diet of Dungeons & Dragons and the travels of a Navy family.

Upon graduating from the University of Virginia with a degree in Foreign Affairs, Cooper was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps and went on to serve six years as an infantry officer. C. G. Cooper's final Marine duty station was in Nashville, Tennessee, where he fell in love with the laid-back lifestyle of Music City.

His first published novel, BACK TO WAR, came out of a desire to link back to his time in the Marine Corps. That novel, written as a side project, spawned many follow-on novels, several exciting spinoffs, and catapulted Cooper's career.

Cooper lives just south of Nashville with his wife, three children, and their German shorthaired pointer, Liberty, who's become a popular character in the Corps Justice novels.

Nicely drawn

Having read the Corps Justice Series completely it's nice to see the graphic design of a cartoon version. Same story with pictures to paint the scene.

This graphic novel is the first episode based on the first book in the C. G. Cooper Corps Justice series. The artists do a great job of bringing the books characters to life in graphic illustration.

You don't need to have read the book Back To War to enjoy this graphic novel. This is Episode One, so it does end in a cliff hanger and is not meant to be read as a standalone. There is a lot of violence and swearing so this not for sensitive readers.

The storyline basics are Cal Stokes and his fiancee Jessica are out on a dinner date. They are targeted by a gang for the initiation of a new gang member. The gang didn't count on Cal being a former Marine and fighting back during the attack. Things don't go as planned for anyone.

I look forward to the future episodes of this graphic novel.

Love artistry from all artists - those who draw and novelist

The original book was written like a filmscreen which made it difficult to sink your teeth into. Great adaptation of the book that started it all rolling....Extremely talented artists. As well as exremely talented novelist, if you like this check out remainder of series, as well as The Patriot Protocol due out by late April 2016!

Different style but same quality product

Never read graphic novel. Having read the book I was still taken in by graphics. Genre does not seem to be an issue for this author he adapts and improvised. A Marines Marine through and through.

This is so much fun!

I have read all the Corps series and can not wait for more. Have not been into comic books for 50 years, but the first chapter was free, so what the hell, I downloaded it. What a great time reading this. More please!

Great Graphic Novel

This is my first graphic novel. Thanks Carlos. This is a great beginning to the series and the graphics make the story come alive. If you are into graphic novels you need the one.

If you haven't read the Corps Justice Series I highly recommend them as well.

Cal as a cartoon

This is a whole new way to look at the Corp Justice series. It's not exactly what I saw in my head but it's a good start.
