'We find each other in the woods. Under the moonlight in the trees in the middle of Fitzroy, she tells me she is a wolf. It's easy to believe her. When I tell her so, she smiles and her canine teeth poke out between her lips.
I tell her I am made of glass and bones and dust. She nods and we continue down the path together. She sees the crystal shards that grow in my throat but does not comment, their jagged edges poke through my skin in pastel colours that glow softly.'
A story about a girl with no heart who finds a girl who can turn into a wolf in the middle of a forest in Fitzroy.
Wow, this was so beautiful. The writing was lyrical and haunting. I felt sad reading it but also kind of comforted by the end. The idea of the crystal girl and the wolf girl is really amazing. Seriously though the writing is phenomenal!!!
Some hopeful sentiments about love and the heartbreak that may come with it, but also the healing that can come with it too. I liked the concept behind the shifting wolf girl.
