"Responding to questions from his students at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education on how to process methodically in the practice of sadhana, the author was inspired to undertake the work of providing a handbook which dealt with the essential facets of the Integral Yoga."
A very useful handbook it is indeed to identify, develop and bring light to areas of consciousness that need to be brought on board the sadhana. The insights, approaches and perspectives are delivered in a cheerful and clear manner with a sweetness and endearing sense of encouragement and hope.
There are lots of quotations from Sri Aurobindo and The Mother throughout, anchoring the text in their spiritual depth.
I found this a really great read, very insightful and a tremendous help in my practice of the Integral Yoga. A second run through revealed further depth. This is one I will return to again.
I don’t think I have enough words to describe just how indispensable this book is for any earnest spiritual aspirant. I have had almost a million questions ( related to my journey towards the divine) answered simply by reading this book. I had a million questions regarding surrendering to the divine and literally no one could give me a clear-cut answer for this. So many doubts got cleared simply by reading this book about how to help a sadhak understand what it really means to surrender to the divine and how the mind tricks us into believing that it is a helpless state or that it isn’t worth it. There are many nuances that has been pointed out that are beyond indispensable for something who is earnest seeking the path of truth even while living in this world. It is a much much recommended book for any sadhak. There are so many pitfalls a sadhak will invariably have to confront throughout life and the book lays bare all of them. I felt like the author had read my mind as he went on to describe the delusions that stifle the progress of both novice and veteran sadhaks.
