I'm a private investigator, former Police officer, a writer, a family guy and a fan of crime and adventure fiction.
I grew up watching the TV private eye and cop shows of the 80's, rocking to the music of the 80's and reading classic crime and action stories-some of these were written in the 80's. Did I mention the 80's rocked?
I write as much as I can, but not nearly enough to get all my ideas down on the page. The problem is, time is never a friend for part-time authors.
If you're looking for a literary genius, you've come to the wrong place buddy. But if you're looking for an entertaining time, then hell, come on in...
A fast read, lots of believable action, a contemporary story set in NZ (which was new to me) about an intelligence operation that attempts to locate and capture an escaped convicted Serbian war criminal. The relationships between the people seem well developed, and the scenario is very believable, and while this is my first book in this series that didn't impact negatively on my ability to follow the story. A pleasant change of pace to my usual reading fare.(S/F, fantasy, cosy's)
My first read from author Angus McLean was well-written & enjoyable. Looks to be the beginning of an enjoyable series. In fact, I just put Smoke and Mirrors The Division #1 on my TBR list.
