The rule journalists live by? Never become the story. And whatever you do, don't sleep with him!
Diana:
My life's changing so fast I've got whiplash! Two weeks ago, the only reporting I did was for the website... Cute little league stuff - yeah, I was that junior.
Now I'm in Barcelona, Spain, reporting on the biggest signing in US soccer history - the tanned, ripped, and outrageously cocky superstar striker Alex Rodriquez. Suddenly my career's not just going places, it's flying there business class.
Fast cars, late nights and loose women? Alex is any journalist's wet dream. He's my one chance to show that I'm more than just a pretty face. And I'm going to snatch it with both hands, even if that means sacrificing his career to send mine to the stratosphere.
I'm supposed to be the new face of WBC Sports. But I don't even recognize the girl staring back at me in the mirror.
Alex:
I'm more than just a bad boy. It wasn't easy growing up in inner city LA, and I didn't just make it out, I made it to the pinnacle of my sport - playing offense for the world's best club in Barcelona! But that Diana b@tch is painting me out to be no better than a ghetto gangbanger!
I hate her. I want her. And I'm going to take her.

I make my bad boys jump from the frying pan into the fire, and straight into the heroine's bed. I like 'em bad, foul mouthed, and with eyes for the only woman in their life.

My Review:
Tackle is an epic tale of what happens when you know better than to open your legs to the wrong guy for the wrong reasons and do it anyway. Likewise the male hooking up with the female just to prove a point to back up his ego.
That right off of the bat got on my nerves. The back and forth in the chapters from the different perspectives is really what aggravated me most because you get a better exploration of our h/h's thoughts and the ones I read didn't particularly impress me.
Another thing that kind of confused me was the triple Epilogue. None of them really felt flush with the direction the book was going in my opinion. Also there were a few moments I wasn't quite sure in some of the conversations whom was talking to whom but there are some entertaining scenes.
Even though Tackle wasn't one of my favorite reads it was still interesting to see what Hart did with it and I respect the thought and effort she put into her work because its very evident all the way through.
I received an e-ARC from RedCape Romance PR in exchange for an honest review.
It was really enjoyable in the beginning. Alex's adventures as football star in a country where the other football is more famous were really fascinating. He is every girl's dream man. With his killer looks and even more of a killer body and a cocky attitude. And whose reality was it?
Diana's.
From the start, I didn't like her, for reasons I'm not too sure about. She seemed like the kind of girl that isn't afraid to tell what she thinks, but at the same time, squirms under the watchful eye of the society.
And as much as wanted to love the story, it was impossible for me to picture them a 21-year-olds. Achieving something that great at such a young age is something that I haven't witnessed in my life. And the love story between Diana and Alex had no chemistry and even though their feelings developed quite quickly, it was killed with all the sex that they could think of.
But I have to hand it to Ms. Hart, the sex scenes were absolutely, surprisingly wild and loved every bit of it!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Tackle is a well written story about two young adults from somewhat similar backgrounds, who are solely focused on their career and being the best at what they do. When Diana is sent to report on Alex, the young 1/2 American, 1/2 Columbian, who is drafted to play for Barcelona, their lives collide in an unexpected and nasty way. The instant attraction that they feel helps them overcome the negative encounter and their passion flames unencumbered. We see the love and support of Diana help Alex become the mature professional that he needs to be in order to deal with a career-ending injury and ultimately his future as a soccer player. Tackle is a romantic, feel good book about love, commitment, and growing up. I was surprised to find myself unable to put this book down; a definite must read!
Tackle is a fun soccer romance story. It was a breath of fresh air for myself. But yes there is some drama that accrues with Alex and Diana. Along with the strong, intense, lust and heat of passion. Which makes for an interesting story. This book seams so steady and developed I can't wait to read more books from this author!
I was into this book BUT it too a lot for me to get into it. There was times I was confused between the H/h thoughts. They at time was going on at the same time and it got frustrating and I had to put the book down and walk away. It was an ok , nice story , uh ...that is interesting type of book for me. But sadly it fell short for me.
I really enjoyed this soccer-themed bad boy romance. Although I am a big sports fan, I must admit that I'm not very knowledgeable about soccer. So I found it interesting that the author went into some details about the rules, strategies, and training involved in the game – it made in that much more enjoyable and realistic to me and helped me better understand for the game. This story was set in Barcelona, Spain, which was described very beautifully, and gave a feel for the language and culture of the area. It also made it clear how much the game of soccer is loved in Europe and their sports stars treated like gods. And I couldn't help but laugh that our hero, Alejandro Rodriguez, a Columbian/American player who grew up in the United States, liked to be called Alex, which, in effect, made his name Alex Rodriguez, just like the popular baseball star. (Coincidence? I don't think so...) Anyway, our Alex has just been signed by the Barcelona team. He may be the best soccer player in the United States, but in Barcelona he is merely a small fish in a large pond. Making 5 million a year. Alex may not be well known there yet, but he is a confident and arrogant man, and has no doubt he is the future of the team. He works and trains hard and it's no coincidence that he's so good. Our heroine, Diana Lopez, is a first year employee for WBC, a sports television station in the U.S. that covers international sports. There has been an increase lately in interest about soccer, and Diana, beautiful and bilingual, is given the plum job of moving to Barcelona, specifically to cover Alex's career. The station manager made it clear that he didn't care about soccer news - “according to him, there were only going to be two people watching: men who cared more about ogling (Diana) than listening to what came out of her mouth, and women who just wanted to see footage of the stunning Alejandro Rodriguez.” The main advice he gives Diana: “Don't sleep with the boy, whatever happens. Yeah, like we all pretty much know that's not going to “not happen”. Diana first meets Alex by chance the day before the first game, when she's checking out the stadium. Alex pretends he's just an ordinary employee and strikes up a conversation with her. She's not about to let him know she's a reporter – this might be her chance to get some inside scoop and make a name for herself! He lets a few things slip that could make for a juicy story, and Diana can't help but try to capitalize on it. When she pushes the issue at her first press conference, Alex is furious. But as can be guessed, it doesn't take long before these two are falling for each other. And then into each other's arms. Diana is terrified she's going to be “found out”, and loose all her credibility, not to mention her job. The ups and downs of what happens to them on the way to their HEA makes for an interesting, very hot, and sometimes sweet and romantic story, which takes them though bad times as well as the good ones. Both Alex and Diana mature quite a bit through this book, as they learn what love really is and what it means to be there for each other. This was a really good story, which I read through very quickly and easily. It held my interest and for the most part was realistic enough. I'm not quite sure why it needed three Epilogues, but all's well that ends well. A worthwhile read! I received a free ARC of this story for an honest review.
Holly Hart’s “Tackle” was a fun read. Taking place in Barcelona, every aspect of the story is told in a manner that I felt as if I were there watching it happen instead of reading it. Diana Lopez is an up and coming reporter sent to Spain to report on the happenings of Alex Rodriguez, one of the newest members of the Barcelona football (soccer) team. As I’m sure you can surmise, this IS a romance, so sparks fly.
Overall likes: the depiction of the fever associated with football from the rabid fans to the players; the overall sexist behavior for women working in sports reporting; the very real rivalry between two of Spain’s biggest teams; the characters—both the leads (Alex and Diana) and the lesser characters who helped to round out the story; the romance and all it’s drama.
These are my own personal views, but on the dislikes, I didn’t see the point of titling the chapters by whose point of view it was nor did I see the need for three epilogues. It seemed weird but it was ignorable. The line that ground me to an absolute halt, really glad it was all the way at the end in epilogue 2, was, “…I filled with a mixture of schadenfreude and pride as I saw him appreciate just how comprehensively I’d outmaneuvered him.” It was so outside the story in terms of language that I was left wondering how many writers contributed to the story. And while I could overlook many things in the story because of the overall excellent storytelling that killed it.
*Of note, I received an ARC with the request for an honest review after reading it. And yes, I do recommend it.

More details: This book was nice, entertaining, but not enough edge to get me excited, and some of the drama that did happen didn't do it to me.
It had some weird moments, for example, Diana had 2 conversations and 1 night of hot sex with Alex, and still referred to her SMS to him the following day, that they shouldn't continue seeing each other, as a breakup, and then referred to Alex as her ex. A bit delusional on her part... but I just went with it.
Oh, and Alex was more of a good kid, than a bad boy, but again, I just went with it...
I have to admit I was reading this with a little Mona Lisa smile on my face. If the man+boys in my life knew I was reading about Barcelona Football (Soccer) Club, their favorite soccer team, they wouldn't leave me alone until I disclosed all the dirty details. Non of the team members names were real in the book (yes, I know them), but I still I had a certain player in mind :) Thank god for the cluelessness of the men around me...
First I have to say that I love love love Soccer. I watch it every chance I get and FIFA oh man I am attached to my TV and watch nothing but Soccer. So when I had a chance to read an ARC copy of Tackle I jumped at the chance to read it and I have to say that I was not disappointed! Holly brought us the world of soccer with accurate and true descriptions. I mean she hit the nail on the head with this book.
In Tackle we get to meet Alex and Diana. Diana is a reporter just trying to make a name for herself to move up in the news world. When she gets the chance of a lifetime by reporting on the superstar soccer player Alex Rodriquez. She is determined to be the new face of WBC sports.
Alex is a bad boy on and off the field. He comes from the mean streets of LA and fights his way to make a name for himself in soccer. When he becomes a superstar soccer player and becomes a household name he is excited except for one thing the nosy reporter who is reporting his bad things about him. He hates her but at the same time he wants her. She is beautiful and ugly all at the same time and he is not sure what to do.
Will Alex and Diana get together or will Diana's reporting destroy what they could have.......
Diana works hard to be the best reporter she can be. But she's a first year employee, so she gets puff pieces about high schoolers at best.
Until the day he boss realizes her last name, Diana didn't think he knew she existed. It's obvious from their conversation he barely knew of her existence. But he knew enough and now she's headed to Barcelona to cover the new rookie signed by the world's best team. With only one rule, she knows she's got this.
Well, she thought she had it. Alex Rodriguez is a lot to take in. She blew her first chance of reporting gold, but she also stooped lower than she ever thought possible.
Making the most of a bad situation, apologizing seems the best option. From one apology, comes a whole lot of trouble. Diana had thought Alex attractive before but hugging him has her turned on in a very bad way.
One rule. One rule about this assignment. Don't sleep with him. So much for rules...
Tackle is a fun sports romance. I enjoyed it. My family are big Barcelona fans so it was fun to read a fictional story about our team. The sassy report and the arrogant young rookie make a great team.
I received this for my honest review. This is a fun, entertaining story which is a soccer-themed bad boy romance. I did receive Tackle as a free ARC Copy in exchange for an honest review.
The main character of the story, Diana is a young news reporter. She is working in an office, not really feeling the vibe of her hard work. She gets a break due to her last name being of Hispanic in nature. Her boss sends to her Barcelona, Spain to become a correspondent for the soccer team there & report back. What a great chance of course she takes it!
Although, Diana doesn't realize the American she'll be reporting on, Alejandro - Alex, she'll fall for. She told her boss, she wouldn't. But, of course the first time they meet they have an instant spark / connection.
Alex loves being in Barcelona. He has worked hard to come from nothing, as he was bounced from foster home to foster home, to landing such a dream job, soccer player! He loves that he has this opportunity. Diana & Alex don't seem to realize what they have is so very precious.
I really enjoyed this book. Holly Hart has a fast snappy writing style and I have to say I am a fan of it. This is the second book of hers I have read and they were both worth the read. I received this book in exchange for an honest review. It is available on amazon free for kindle unlimited readers or 99p which I think is pretty good.
Diana is just starting out as a reporter and wants to impress. Her career means a lot to her and when her boss offers her first big break she jumps at it. Her new assignment is based in Spain involving the gorgeous Alex Rodriquez, footballer. The problem is he is just that. He’s mouth wateringly good and has all the right moves. Women love him. His boss just wants him to turn up on time. Diana’s boss gave her one rule before leaving for Spain, don’t sleep with the story. The trouble is Alex may also like what he sees.
Okay, a Soccer player and a reporter. Wait scratch that! Just picture a hot and yummy Soccer Player Yeah now put a name to that handsome man your picturing, Alex! Alex is making his dreams come true by playing for the most important Soccer team in the league and in Spain. Nothing can make him not focus on being the best at his game, not even the current team captain. Then he meets the one woman that unnerves him. The one he feels he need s to see. The one woman that has gotten under his skin, Diana. But loving Diana is cake compared to the work he will have to do to keep his dream of playing Soccer alive. This book is exciting because we have, yeah a soccer player, sexy given. We have, Diana is a strong character that will make you proud. Sexy, funny and emotional Your gonna love it!
One goal; to be the best. One job; to bring America the only soccer player from home into the limelight. As they meet and greet with a love of soccer one thing is clear... they both can't get each other off their minds. Learning lessons and learning to give will be hard coming for both characters. We hope they can do it before it's to late. A story that keeps you glued to the page with excitement, heart racing situations and intrigue. Big fan of soccer myself and I would not put this book down for anything other than 'the end'. Hope this author writes more books on this subject. Well written characters, situations and all around fun to read. High recommendation for this read. Can't wait for her next book.
*ARC received in return for an honest review* I liked the bones of the story, and I liked Alex because even though he was full of himself, he was still a nice guy. My problem with this book is that a couple of times I felt the story jumped from point A to point C without going through point B. I feel there are some missing links to explain the plot developments. I also was confused when Diana had dinner and sex with Alex only one night and then said she was "breaking up with him" after having had a "torrid affair" and she referred to him as her "ex". It just seemed odd to me to that one night together was being held out as a relationship. I really liked the other two books I read by this author but this one just left me a little lukewarm.
Recieved an arc for an honest review. While I was in love with this story as much as I was the last one I read by Holly (Hung) this is still a really good love story. I think one of the reason's I didn't get into it as much as I not a huge soccer fan so when they were talking about soccer I lost interest. I also hate how the herione of the story got treated by her boss. For some this will be one of their favorite reads and I can totally see why as the author is good at what she does writing a good interesting story. I will be reading more from this author in the furture as I really enjoy her books. Just hope the next one is a
Holly dose it again with this book. Diana is a sports reporter on the lower runs of the paper she works for until her boss calls her into his office one day she thought she was in trouble with him. she got called into his office because of her last name Diana was sent overseas to follow the football star Alex and report the football games to the USA Diana and Alex at first didn't get along because Diana asked some questions that made Alex mad. Will they be able to sort it out a come friends and more than friends. Received this book for an honest review This is one Author you are going to want to read more of.
* * Copy received in exchange for an honest and Unbiased review**
I really enjoyed this book, Diana is sent to Barcelona to report on one of the hottest upcoming soccer players Alex. Diana meets him by accident but doesn't let her real reason be known to why she's there til they get reunited and the attraction is very hot, and is what helps them move pass the negative start of the attraction. They both face hard choices and decisions but with them both supporting each other can they make it?
I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Diana Lipez is a journalist that gets her dream job. She is off to Spain to report on the newest player on Barcelona's soccer team, Alex Rodriguez. Alex is an American that worked hard for the opportunity to play for one of Europes most popular soccer teams. Diana and Alex are instantly attracted to one another, but their professional lives may not allow for a personal relationship. Great book with engaging and believable characters, and a happily ever after.
3.5 stars! I really enjoyed Holly Hart's style and writing flow, which reminds me of some of my favorite authors. I liked all the characters and the story overall. I gave it 3.5 stars because I felt it the book as a whole was rushed. I wanted more meat with some of the situations and I it would've been nice if she filled in some of the time. I understand authors will skip over parts when there isn't any drama, but part of being a skilled writer is adding interesting situations to a story without the need for drama. Ms. Hart would've done a fine job!
I must start off saying I know absolutely nothing about soccer, with that being said it didn't change my opinion of this story. Holly explains the rules and plays so it helps you understand the game a by more. The game between Alex and Diane however is a real fun game to watch!! I love the European setting since that is where the game is so truly loved. Great book!! Thanks Holly!
I received this book in exchange for an honest review!
I enjoyed this romance story soccer theme. Diana is a reporter who gets a big break to cover a story about the uprising soccer player, Alejandro. Alex who is excited, cocky and raring to play soccer is on top of the world when he bumps into Diana, and sparks fly between the two.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
Hot, Sexy Soccer Romance. Overcoming their pasts and struggles with their unknown future brought two kindred souls together in a beautiful journey of growth and discovery. Awesome journey. I was given this book for an honest review.
Fun soccer bad boy romance. Hot Hot Hot Alex is hot up and coming soccer star in Barcelona he has to prove himself to the team but the fans love him. Diana is a young journalist following her dream, she's in Barcelona to report on the American Hotshot Alex. Sparks...
Going from nothing to a whole lot can make anyone arrogant and this soccer star is exactly that. When things go wrong he learns there is something more than being the best on the field.
This is a really good book! I enjoyed reading how Diana overcome the struggles of being a woman in a male dominated job. I love cocky playboys being blown over by a girl!! One touch and they are ruined for other women.
I really was not a fan of this book. I actually couldn’t finish it because I knew I had a long line of really good books that I’ve been waiting to read and I didn’t want to waste my time.
ARC review For honest review. Alex and Diana their story is of triumph over their childhood and the challenges in their jobs .great story of love and self pride .
