Certainty is a fickle thing, and it doesn’t play nice. As her world crumbles around her, Emery Parker must continue on her journey to save those she loves—all while coming to terms with her past and the overwhelming power her family’s secret holds.
Emery’s choice to participate in The Alpha Drive initiative came with its risks and challenges—this she knew. But after confiding in Torin Porter and secretly working alongside the Seventh Sanctum, things have only become more unclear. As Emery fights to maintain control, the grey area between betrayal and allegiance grows larger, and the clarity she thought she had diminishes as the search for the truth develops in complexity. In a time of full-fledged uncertainty, Emery must fully embrace her past, even if doing so may mean losing everything—and everyone—she ever loved.

The Order of Omega (The Alpha Drive #2) by Kristen Martin is amazing! It is book two in the series but can be read as a stand alone. This book is even better than book one and I loved book one! There is great fantasy, mystery, suspense, action, romance, and did I say suspense? Wow! Loved this book. Can't wait for the next one...I received this book for a honest review and it in no way effected my rating or review, this is just a great book! Do yourself a favor and pick it up!
The ending to this book! It was bittersweet but oh-so-satisfying. I think ALL the questions raised in the first book were answered in the sequel, and there was even a tiny twist I didn't see coming!
I think one aspect most great novels have is the "How can the character possibly get out of this situation?" moment. This novel certainly had that, and kept me holding my breath through the final 30-50 pages.
I can't wait to read the last installment of the series!
Wow! This was amazing!! I really enjoyed the first book in this series but the sequel is even BETTER. This rarely happens to me, instead I sometimes find I have a hard time finishing a trilogy as when I get to the second book in the series I often start to lose interest. This sequel did exactly the opposite. It is written in these short, addicting chapters told from multiple character POV's. The different characters POV's made the book just fly by. All the characters, whether likable or not grow in this story plus we get better insight into who they are and why they are the way they are. I also liked that this author did not shy away from challenging her characters or from putting them in intense situations. I am going to keep this spoiler free but I will still say that Torin is still my favorite guy. The world building expands in this book and I found the 7S world to be fascinating. The plot is detailed, fast paced, suspenseful, and smart making this book extremely hard to put down or stop thinking about. This is one author I will definitely be adding to my auto buy list. I feel like her writing really shines in this sequel and I can't wait to read the last book in this series and anything else she writes in the future. I am always super impressed when an author makes me love a story written out of my preferred genre so if you are a Sci Fi/Dystopian fan this is a must read and I can say to anyone who isn't don't hesitate to read this series as you will be missing out!
*Thank you to the author for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review*
Awesome sequel! This book thickened the plot and really built on the story that the first book started in such a great way. Loved getting to see more of Torin, who is probably my favorite character, and I also loved getting to see all the cool technology. The action scenes were especially attention grabbing, and I was again impressed by Emery's badassery. Excited to see what the third book will hold! *I was sent an ARC of this book for review.
I always get nervous about the second book in a trilogy because all too often it turns into a book that gets you from the first book to the second. The Order of Omega had a very clear drive and if you told me it was the finale of the series, I would have believed it because there is a distinctive climax. With that said, I'm curious to see what happens in the third book!
Rating: 4.5 Stars I really enjoyed this next installment of the series. I found it a little hard to get into at first but once the plot started to really move I was hooked and raced through the last third, I didn't want to put it down! I really enjoyed seeing more from the characters we saw in the first book as well as meeting who was an awesome addition to the cast. My favourite character to read from was Torin, he is so awesome!
I will be making a video review for this book on my Youtube Channel in the upcoming weeks :) (I received an arc copy of this book for review)
I enjoyed this more than the first book. It felt darker somehow and way more action packed. Even though I don't love the characters in this series, they each have their moments where they shine and you can't help but root for them. This was definitely another fun and fast-paced installment.
While I think this book was better constructed than Alpha Drive, the pacing and character development still didn't seem realistic to me. The love triangle kind of seemed like it was thrown in just to have a romantic subplot, and I found Emery's interactions with Naia to be forced. Also Victor seemed more like a whining baby instead of a threatening villain, but that may have been intentional.. just not my preference for villains. Like the first book, I still really enjoyed the world and think that the plot was interesting (obviously I finished reading it), but I just think it just needed another round of editing.
Again, I couldn't quite suspend my disbelief enough to buy into the overarching technology at play. The science behind Dormance and the 7S world, how people move from one to the other, taking objects to and fro, etc. My brain just could not compute.
That being said, the story and the characters are still compelling enough that I want to know what happens next. Torin and Emery are characters that I only want good things for, and I really hope Restitution sees them get those good things.
After reading the first book I was hesitant on picking this one up. I really enjoy watching Kristen's videos. I think she's charming and that's why I wanted to give her books a chance. However, they fail to impress me. The story was merely good but definitely had the potential to be great. Her characters were frustrating and felt forced. Dialogue and story progression also felt odd. I think Kristen has the potential to be a great author, but she's just not there yet.
This book was really good. I felt like most of the questions in book 1 are answered in The Order of Omega. This book had a very clear drive which made me love it even more. I would have thought this was the finale of the series due to the distinctive climax. That said, I'm super excited to read Restitution.
I'm also glad that the answers of Emery's family were answered.
I have fallen for Kristen books. They are amazing, and addictive. Unfortunately I am on the last book and know that it is going to take some time for another book to come out. Kristen please! I need more books!
I have to agree wholeheartedly with Vivien. The sequel tied up the first book neatly, while offering up a series of new possibilities for the third installment! I find myself enjoying this series more and more. It is no surprise that Kristen is an Amazon Best selling author. Great read!
I truly enjoyed the second book in this series very much! Great follow-up to The Alpha Drive and I can really see where the author's voice started to really shine more! I'd recommend this series to anyone! I will be reading the third and final book, and I am so excited to get to it!
This was a great book! It wasn't just a bridge book which most sequels are and it was one I truly enjoyed. It had intrigue and action and all sorts of great movement with the characters! I highly recommend!
It was better than the first book but not enough to get a better rating than the first book, I definitely like the plot line and really wonder where the third book will good.
I'm not a fan of YA and this hasn't changed that. I will finish this series and keep watching her advice videos but it will be a while before I try her other series.
Being this was the second book, I was hoping a lot of questions would be answered from book one and they were! Both worlds, both the real one Emery is from as well as the fake one she has been stuck in are explained in detail more, it comes together nicely. It does have a bittersweet end but I liked it all the same. I'm looking forward to finishing the series and finding out what the end story is for Emery and her sidekicks :)
I really enjoyed this book because of the storyline. This idea that Kristin had was amazing! She gets 2 worlds and combines them into a thrilling story. Although I really enjoyed the events that happened in this book, there were some issues I had with it. For example, throughout the book the characters have to jump from world to world. If you don’t read the book very carefully, you could get lost and have no idea where you went or where you are. Somethings happen way too fast for you to understand and the character’s feelings are not really expressed. I would have enjoyed the book even more if there were more emotional battles and sight inside the character’s hearts. Even though there are some cons, there are big parts of the book where I really enjoyed the connection between the characters. Emery, the main character really appeals to the reader’s feelings by showing us that Emery thinks she is responsible for all of the events that happen. The two worlds, Dormance and 7S, are really interesting. You can see the struggle Emery and her friends have to try to save their world and shut Dormance down. I really enjoyed all of the plot twists even if some of them I thought wasn’t the time, I loved the storyline. The final battle was AMAZING! You feel as though you are right alongside the characters seeing them fight and make sacrifices. The fight was essential to the story and made an amazing contribution to my feelings. There was a bit of character development as Emery’s character in the first book is not like her character in the second book and I think that is amazing. The way Kristen builds and breaks down her characters makes you feel like they are real people.
I have to drag myself through the book, and it's kind of dissapointing. I haven't finished the book yet, and I don't know if I'll be able to get through it at all. Time will tell.
Although the pace evened out a little bit in the second installment, it still felt all over the place. There's something bothering me, but I can't exactly put my finger on it. I thought at first it was that there are too many instances relying on chance, but then reading on it seemed like the characters knew things that only the author would know, or at least lean in the direction of finding things suspicious for no other reason than perhaps some untold details. Along with that, there's a whole lot of telling going on, and very little showing. With the main characters having almost the exact same reactions to things, paranoid, suspicion, and dismissive. It's difficult to stick with.
Although the story is interesting, the execution could have been much better.
This book picks up immediately after the events of The Alpha Drive and we follow Emery as she tries to shutdown the comatose world of Dormance. If you enjoyed the first book, you'll defiantly like this one. The characters and the world are expanded, the multiple POVs used make the story fly by. The ending kept me turning the pages wondering how they'd make it out this time. I'm excited to see where this series ends in Restitution.
The Order of Omega was my favorite book in TAD trilogy! I remember being so intrigued by where the plot went and never knew what was going to happen. I loved reading about Emery's past and trying to rebuild the world, with new bad guys in the mix. Always loved Torin's scenes as well!
