Sam's Dad gives him some wise advice when he sets off to see the world - wash your socks every night, pretend to have a cold to avoid a snake and glue a crocodile's jaws with bubble gum. Will Sam listen, though? A fantastically colourful book from the illustrator of the bestselling How to Grow a Dinosaur and Supermarket Zoo.
Some decent illustrations of animals for Noah to enjoy, but the storyline itself is rather obvious and the rhymes a little too forced. Oddly some rhymes are also dependant on that northern/southern U.K. pronunciation divergence.
Suitable for Ages: 4-6 Book Type: Picture Story Language: English
Sam is set for an adventure in the woods. He is warned by his Dad about different animals but particularly about a Jumbo Bumbo Fly. What happens when he sets out for the adventure is the core story in the book.
The pictures are brightly coloured and the surroundings are detailed. Use of bigger font sizes for expressions provides greater impact. Also, I liked the usage of age old cinema roll with black and white images to showcase multiple images in a single page.
