Corinne was young once. She did everything—girls, boys, drugs, toys—and did it in high funky fashion. Reese wasn’t her first lover, but he was the first to submit to her. For a while they had something special, but it ended badly.
She’s a little older now. And the wealthy businessman who just bought the company she works for bears little resemblance to that boy. He’s commanding, domineering, and seems hell-bent on pushing her past her limits.
In a flash of anger, she falls back into their old pattern—and Reese falls right in with her. Before she knows it, she’s testing him. Then tasting him. But she can’t afford to get involved again. Her life is complicated enough without throwing in a slew of kink.
Now if only Reese would stop making her feel like the goddess she used to be…and showing her who’s been the boss all along. Then…and now.

Megan Hart has written in almost every genre of romantic fiction, including historical, contemporary, romantic suspense, romantic comedy, futuristic, fantasy and perhaps most notably, erotic. She also writes non-erotic fantasy and science fiction, as well as continuing to occasionally dabble in horror.

Megan Hart is "best known for writing erotic fiction that sometimes makes you cry", and that is what keeps me coming back to her books. Beg for It didn't make me cry, nor did it make me sad as some of her other books did, but I still liked it. Truth be told, I didn't pick it up looking for a good cry, but to see if Megan Hart's books with BDSM elements work for me or not, because that seems to be the direction her newer stories are taking. The verdict is that yes, they could work. I liked the really sad, vanilla ones better, but this was all right, too.
Beg for It is the love story of Corinne and Reese who were a couple when they were younger. A happy couple in love who in the bedroom were Ma'am and boy. BDSM-wise their relationship was DS. No SM, for which I was glad. They were happily in love, but life took them in different directions. Corinne wanted a career right where they were living, and Reese wanted to get as far away as possible, which he did. She got her career, got married, had children, got divorced. He became a successful businessman. After many years he came back to his hometown, and in Corinne's life. The anger they had towards each other showed its ugly face, but so did the attraction that was still there. Old flames were reignited, and Corinne and Reese were once again Ma'am and boy, only older and wiser that hopefully wouldn't repeat their old mistakes.
Almost all the books by Megan Hart were the ones she wrote for Harlequin MIRA, and to me those were stories about women's lives with romance as one part of it. Beg for It was mostly focused on the romance. We learn about the other parts of Corinne's and Reese's lives, but romance is in the spotlight, and we get to read about both heir past and present relationship. I like it when stories alternate between past and present, and Megan Hart does it especially well.
Megan Hart's writing skills plus second-chance romance equals a winning combination.

How do you slay me, Ms. Hart? Let me count the ways. As per my standard protocol, I did not read the blurb for this story. Why would I? All I need to know is that Ms. Hart wrote it. It is an automatic read. I did make sure I had enough time between the last time I read her book to when I read this one. Because I can only take so much emotional trauma at one time. This story hit all my inner emo-like goth buttons. I tried so hard not to shed a tear reading this story and utterly failed. Ms. Hart's writing always moves me. She is a master at tugging my heart strings and this book just reaffirms it.
I loved the characters in this book. Both Corinne and Reese pulled me in. Corinne is divorced mother of two. She put herself through college and worked her way up to the top at the small family owned company in her hometown. Things are falling apart in her life both professionally and personally. Still, she tries her best to get through the day. With all the solitude, she has plenty of time to regret and yearn for her lost love - her boy - the man she loved with all her heart. Reese is now a multi-millionaire. He buys up companies and either fixes them or breaks them apart and sells them for more. One could say, he possesses Midas's touch. He never settled down with a woman after he left Corinne. For him, she was always the one even if he could not have her.
When it comes to complicated relationships, Ms. Hart excels at creating them and giving the reader perspectives from both sides. In this love story, the issue isn't that they don't love each other. It is that they are the right people at the wrong time. And it may never be the right time because they want different things. They know how good it is to be together and yet due to their careers and where they want to be, it seems to be irreconcilable differences. This seems to be a no win situation.
The writing style in this story makes it that much more poignant for me. Ms. Hart compares past and present in a way that gives readers a glimpse into how Corinne and Reese first met. She cleverly parallels the two timelines to show the differences and similarities between then and now. This makes the loss of the love hurt deeper. When you know how good it was, lose it and then have a chance to get it back only to see it slip through your fingertips, would that break you? I think it would break me.
The sex in this book is phenomenal. Ms. Hart is one of those writers who slips BDSM into her stories as easily as it is to breathe in air. It is curious as she does not overtly mention BDSM. Nor does she make this story about BDSM. Instead, it is a personal intimacy between two characters and how they relate to each other sexually. One would assume since Reese is the rich one, he would be the dominant. Ms. Hart adds a couple of twists in here which makes this story more unique, refreshing and appealing. This story is multilayered, rich and moving. Recommended for erotic readers who enjoy lovers reuniting with a what-if scenario.
**Reviewed Previously for Books n Boys Book Blog** 4 DOMINATING STAR’S
This book is different, where the woman takes the more dominant roll, not really BDSM but close. I feel like it’s a second chance romance with a bit of a twist . Corinne finds herself a divorced mother of 2, but she is also unhappy with her current love life. She longs for what could have been.
The company she works for Stein and Sons which is a dairy is in trouble. She needs to meet with the company that is thinking to buying to see if they can turn it around and make a profit. When she shows for the meeting she is confronted with the past. ‘Her boy. ‘ Her past as just entered her future.
Reese knows he is going to see her again. It was only a matter of time and maybe a little. But he also needs a lot of courage to face her, after how he left. But what he wasn’t banking on was how he would feel or that all those old feelings never left. He has the ability to buy and turn the business around to make a profit but he finds himself toying with her just a little bit.
“You want to . . . own me?” – Reese
This book we get Before and Now points of view. I think I would have liked it more if we knew when the Before stopped and the Now takes over. I find myself going back and forth to not get confused. I also feel like we are missing some parts of the story, 12 years is a long time to miss someone and life continues.
The kinky side of this was hot , hella hot really , but a little bit emasculating , even if he never felt that way , I felt that way for him . I don’t begrudge someone there preferences and I believe love is love
“I could own you forever.” - Corinne
I really did enjoy the trust and understanding that came along with this type of love story that was very noticeable and I enjoyed that immensely.
The lack of communication and honesty between these two really bugged me.
On one hand, you have a domme that seems to want it all but isn't brave enough to actually communicate that to him (this is even more annoying because it sounds like she wants total power exchange and that's something you can't just stumble into by accident) and on the other, you have an emotionally immature male sub who verbally lashes out whenever things don't go his way.
Even though the sex scenes were well written, by the end of the book I didn't get the impression these two were going to sail into the sunset. Not by a long shot. And how could they? None of their issues had been resolved.
The 'then/now' narrative style didn't really work for me either, so on the whole, I was mostly disappointed by this highly recommended femdom read.
Megan Hart is a diverse author. I don't think I've read two books, written by her, narrated in the same manner.
This story flips back and forth from present day to events of 15 years earlier. That I could cope with, however the changing from present tense to past tense totally threw me. Past events are told in present tense, present day is spoken in past tense.
The erotic content didn't appeal to me, and I'm all for women taking charge... especially when it involves more than face slapping and a fascination with the guys a$$hole.
You won't find whips and chains, you will find plenty of lube - F/m backdoor play/pegging/rimming.
super angsty & spicy second chance romance between a divorcee domme and her former lover. i was definitely in the mood for angst. i wouldn't normally go for second chance, but i was vibing with it this week.
I find it very hard to focus on this book, my concentration kept straying. It's probably me. But I am not fully convinced for the Corinne and Reese romance. It is my own prejudice, but I find it very hard to imagine Corinne as dominate and Reese submissive.
I am not a stickler with my book heros has to be alpha and dominate, but for this book, I was not fully convinced, and my skepticism made it hard for me to be fully vested into this book.
I kept nodding off, and I am giving up.
This is not a badly written book at all, I think the problem is me...
I received an eARC, from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.
Beg for It by Megan Hart is the story of Corinne and Reese. Corinne and Reese were involved years ago when he was just starting out and she was younger too. In this relationship she was the "Dom" one and he was the 'sub'. Things were going on great but they had a fight and things ended.
Now years later Corinne has been divorced and is a mother of two. Corinne life has hit a boring mark and she constantly thinks of her 'boy' Reese. Then one day she has a meeting with the man that has just bought the company that she works for and who walks in by Reese. Corinne is quickly anger by finding out he is buying the company she works for.
Reese knew that she worked for the company and although he has had other women none have pleased him like Corinne. It doesn't take long for their attraction to take hold again.
This was a nice change from having the man be the more dominate one and giving the women a chance at being the 'Dom'.
It didn't give what it was supposed to give. The blurb is also quite misleading. It talks about Corrine having done everything - from girls to boys to drugs and even toys all in apparent high funky fashion. We get none of that. Corrine is a tired 42-year-old divorced mum of two who is worried about her children and career.
Even in the flashbacks to her past (flashbacks which were quite confusing in the beginning), all Corrine does is work at the diner, study, and pay her bills - the only 'fun' she has is with Reese and just Reese.
I also didn't like how she kept referring to him as 'her boy'. Felt quite gross and a little pedophilic. I don't think anyone would be excited if the roles were reversed and a man kept referring to his female partner as 'his little girl'. *shivers in disgust*
Also.... What's up with the slapping?? Just... No. I'm sure there are other ways to punish someone without slapping them across the face
Their relationship dynamic was pretty confusing too. It felt as though Corrine wanted a servant with benefits and not a fully fledged partner. The ending also made no sense whatsoever
OK so I thought the book was pretty good, it’s nothing I’ve read before- I never actually seen an submissive man in a book… ever in my life so this was something new that I really liked. I’ve been looking for this kind shit for a long time and now that it’s here I don’t know to say-
This book really made my sexual fantasies happy.
Corinne is… I would get on my knees for her. For sure. She’s something. She’s so strong. She did cry like 3 times for “her boy” in the very beginning of the book, before he actually came in, which doesn’t make her weak in any way, but it was just like “okay, call him then if you’re so sad?”. Anyways, she is just 💋 chef kiss 💋
I really enjoyed it until… you know they got to the point where they got to fight over shit that didn’t make any sense. He was being a idiot, she was being a idiot. I did take his side once’s, when she got mad at him for not showing when all he wanted to do was rest after being bullied by his father. And other, more times, i took her side. Because, sometimes he was just bruh so damn rude.
I did not enjoy the “ma’am” shit.
I really like their relationship from the beginning, I thought it was cute and hot. But that damn Reese… he lied about that money he had when that girl was working her ass off while he was there like “oh my freaking freedom “ and then asking her to leave everything behind- her job, everything and I thought that was quite stupid and very selfish of him.
I feel like she loved him way more than he loved her which doesn’t sit right with me because in all of those 15 years, she was in love with him the whole time, she loved him a lot more and you can clearly tell in the flashbacks. Like that one time when they were at his house, she had bought food and when she went up to his room he was being so cold. I just wanted to hit him in the face because he was being so mean!? And of course: About the fact that he forgot about obeying? Which shows further that she loved him more, thought about him more, never forgot him. I also feel like it was pure sexual for him- nothing more, really.
And what the fuck is this supposed to mean 🤨 “There’s one group in particular that both amuses and annoys her. Three, four, five younger guys who seem to have known each other since elementary school, based on the nicknames they use for each other and how comfortable they are with casual, physical contact. Squeezing into a booth, hips and shoulders pressing, arms slung around each other’s shoulders, feet on each other’s laps. At first she’d assumed they were gay and crazily brave enough to flaunt in front of this rural city’s judgment, but they’ve been coming into Triton’s long enough now that she sees they’re not gay. ”
I didn’t like how the dominance flipped in the ending. I hate that :/
The ending was so rusted and did not make sense at say with What was going on between then. Also, we NEEDED A FUCKING EPILOGUE!?!!?
Beg For It by Megan Hart is Corinne and Reese's love story. They've had a past romance back when they were young. They had a relationship where she was Dominant and he submissive. They embraced that their kinks aligned, but then it all fell apart.
After 15 years, Corinne is a divorced mother of two. She's unhappy with her love life, and looks back to her past always trying to figure out how she let Reese get away. Out of the blue, Reese is back in her life by way of purchasing the dairy business she is CFO for. When Corrine finds out he is behind the buyout, she is livid! After all these years, why is he poking around her neck of the woods?
Reese has never forgotten Corinne or how she made him feel when they were together. He's been with other women, but no one filled that void. Now that he is a successful self-made billionaire, he jumps at a chance to see her again by buying the company she works for. Maybe toying with her could be fun too.
Megan Hart's second chance type story is a trope that I usually enjoy, but I had a hard time staying interested in the story. These snippets of before and now give us dual points of view. The back and forth between the past and present took a bit getting used to. Because of that, I don't think I really connected with either character. When we start out, we have no idea how in the past the past is. I wanted to know more about them as people-then and now, not the person they were in a scene. I also wanted to know more about the time in-between. It seems we never really are given the whole story. When the ending is approaching, I was waiting for both to finally spell out their relationship and what it means to them by saying it. I was very disappointed how it unfolded. I felt like I was left at the top without the bravado of a spectacular ending. It wrapped up way too quick and very matter-of-fact. I wanted dialog and resolution. I was ready for an epilogue that never came. I felt like I was cheated out of it all and it left me unhappy.
I have read other works by Megan Hart and enjoyed them so I figured this was a no-brainer. I did like her spin from the norm by having the female be the dominant one and she also did a great job of expressing their trust in each other while doing a scene. I really wanted to like it more than I did. If you read it, it may work better for you.
3 stars/3.5 flames
I was gifted this book by the Jeep Diva for the express purpose of an honest review. The review and rating are solely my opinion and in no way was I compensated.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
A strong 4.5*
I think this is a really interesting, well written story, and I did not want it to end.
You know when you have a long list of things to do, but you persuade yourself that you can just read one chapter and then get on ... yeah, well don't chance it with this book. I did just that and read through till I had finished - disastrous for my to-do-list, but a definite recommendation for this book!
I enjoy subtle, intelligent characters. I enjoy books which engage us in a story which has history, and background and involves us in their past and intrigues us about their future. So this story really worked for me. It was moving, sexy, sad, and ultimately satisfying. Seeing a young D/s relationship, with unusual dynamics as it falters, and simultaneously current day possibilities worked really well. Corinne left all those desires behind when the relationship collapsed, but has never forgotten how fulfilling it was. Reese may have become very successful, but he too has never been so satisfied. Travelling with them as they renew their acquaintance and have to face those feelings again, is rather wonderful.
Book: Beg for it Author: Megan Hart Release date: 14 June 2016
Main characters: Corinne Barton Levy, (heroine with a dominant streak) Reese Ebersole, hero and submissive in a former life).
Why you should read it: This is a delightful quick read. I love the whole domme-sub dynamic, as you so rarely read a book where the woman is in charge. This story had it all - which is what I expect from an experienced author like Megan Hart. Corinne and Reese are a couple with a past, and through a great narrative, you find out exactly how their relationship evolved and then deteriorated. I loved them and I loved this book. As women, we're often taught to put everyone else first and ignore our own needs. I loved the fact that Corinne is in touch with her needs, despite putting them on the back burner for so long.
What you may not enjoy: I can't imagine (and you know I like to play devil's advocate when reviewing) - it was short, (read it in a few hours by the pool) satisfying and oh so sexy.
Rating: 5/5 for another accomplished read by Ms Hart. Let's have more smart domme-sub books please!
Rr: Doing a re read spree because for some reason I cannot find myself a good book to read. I'm changing the rating from 4 stars to 3. I feel like the ending was really meh and was much more an HFN to an HEA. I do enjoy second chance romances however the fact she got married and had kids in the time really soured it for me. Also I think the flashbacks were cool but like I wanted the present to be as interesting and hot as the flashbacks and sometimes it was but like idk. I think the book couldve done a lot more than what it did. I don't know what my oringal issue was with that quote cuz it seems fine to me now idk.
They were cute like I enjoyed them the only thing I despised was her fuckimg kids oml
Nothing like the things she’s read about in the few books she bought online, the ones that say you need contracts and safe words and aftercare. Their negotiations have been informal, a mutual give and take. They’re doing it wrong, according to anything she’s ever read, although everything they’ve ever done has only felt right.
Loved the older (40's) heroine, loved that she used to be a dom and that she missed that life after marrying a sexually vanilla man and having kids, loved the back and forthing between scenes of her past with scenes of her present. In the past, when Corinne worked as a waitress, a younger farm kid responded to her bossy ways and became her "boy." But their relationship ended badly, for unrevealed reasons. In the present, her "boy" is now a successful Philadelphia financier, one who is set on buying out the small Pennsylvania company where she works as CFO. Of course, the only reason Reese is interested in the rinky-dink company is because he knows Corinne works there. Watching the unfolding of their relationship in the past, while in the present their resentments gradually yield to questioning, and possibly to reconnecting, is deeply satisfying.
I Just want to start of saying this is my opinion...
First off we will start with the good..
I loved Corinne and Reese as a couple they were so sweet together, they made sense.
OK, so I think it's the fact it was a Domme that it took me a while to even get into this book, But even so Idid.. What i didn't understand was why Corinne was made into a strict domme, when her character was nothing like that?... I love how she opened Reese up and introduced him to new things..
The storyline really did nothing to enhance the book... Thank god for Steamy love making scenes..
As i said it was my opinion, But if you like Dommes, You should give this book a try..
Is this review public? Please comment to let me know??
Tropes/Trigger warnings: BOB. If you know, you know. Also ultra light BDSM, Enemies to Lovers & rekindled love Also office romance. And yes. Of course, there's a millionaire. Also, Dream Book Boyfriend alert.
A very specific book, with a romance around 2 people with a very specific fetish. If you know, you know. If the fetish doesn't turn you on, you might not enjoy the book. The book was very good, but would be even better if the sex was a bit more reciprocal. I loved the push & pull, but the hero broke rank too early imo. The way it's written, with a man so strong in life being so submissive to a heroine who is a middle class employee... Dgmw, l'm sure she's awesome, but her character isn't fully built up much more then her kink, enough to convince me why she's so extraordinary and such a bend worthy girl. The way it's written, the book reads a bit like science fiction. People don't bond over just one kink. I think. NOW- Many romance novels, erotica and smut read to me like science fiction, because no millionaires l know fall in love with ordinary girls. (Or else l would be married already) Money goes to money, And no one l know has such a sexual adventures life. But this book... Is a sweet science fiction dream. Far, far, unobtainable. A sweet escape for a cancer patient recovering from surgery.
TLDR: Though he's fictional, the hero Reece sounds like a snack, he's not treated good enough by the heroine, lMHO, and l'd treat him better. ;-)
I was browsing through my kindle looking for some books to cross off my TBR and came across a Megan Hart book with a femdom plot that I decided would definitely be worthwhile reading material - and of course she never disappoints! It's the story of Corinne and Reese, a second chance romance for a relationship that ended badly the first time around. Corinne is older than Reese and is the first lover with whom he realizes he likes to submit to women. What they have is special but forbidden, and only in their second go around are they mature enough to see that they never would have stayed together before. There are a lot of emotions to work through when they get together the second time - anger, hurt, grief. There are steamy scenes of course, with the DS of BDSM the main theme and flashbacks to their first relationship but this is a romance and there is a happy ending for the couple. I enjoyed it!
