With the fourth issue and the closure of the first cycle, a small review.
This title is fun, full of splatter, blood, spit and murder. And severed heads. MacLean gives us something that seems to come out of a collab between Mignola and Stokoe. Give it a go, you'll have some laughs along with Agatha Blue Witch and Norgal.
Well, no sooner than I sang MacLean's praises for HL #3 celebrating his brevity, than he comes up with this rather chatty latest offering. Still wonderfully illustrated with Mac's crazy style, but I could feel myself slipping beneath the surface of the bog, dragged down by the baggage of the story, emitting bubbles of the troubles too often heard before. I sincerely hope he'll shake it off in future and resume telling his tales with the economy that worked so well in the first three collections.
