About the author

For as long as she can remember, Katie MacAlister has loved reading. Growing up in a family where a weekly visit to the library was a given, Katie spent much of her time with her nose buried in a book. Despite her love for novels, she didn't think of writing them until she was contracted to write a non-fiction book about software. Don’t judge a book by its cover.

Actually, in this case the book cover for Dragon Storm is incredibly appealing, so you could say that you can judge this book by its book cover. What I was referring to is actually going into a story thinking you won’t like it because of preconceived ideas. I knew both Constantine and Bee before starting Dragon Storm and I was convinced I wouldn’t like either character. Yes, this was very narrow-minded of me and I probably should have gotten to know them better before judging them. It’s the old…smarty pants reader thinks she knows everything and gets proven she knows nothing, trick.

I finished Dragon Fall a few days ago and was determined to hold a grudge against Bee because of her part in making Aiofe suffer through her two years of torment. I expected to start this story with it all explained and a logical reason given, as to why Bee had let her sister suffer. Unfortunately, I was left unsatisfied until nearly the end, and even then it still felt somewhat unresolved. I’d gone from loving Aiofe and Kostya in Dragon Fall to thinking she was a brat and he needed a timeout. In getting to know Bee, I realised she tends to think of things in the NOW!! Bee doesn’t hold grudges, gets through what she has to and deals with what comes, when it comes. Not a bad way to be in some respects, but it also has the power to hurt those around her. I actually liked Bee in the end, but it could have something to do with the dead dragon.

Constantine’s story started years ago in the Light Dragon Series. To be honest, my memory ain’t what it used to be and I struggled to remember who and what his story was. Unfortunately, instead of going back and doing a re-read, I just plodded along hoping it would all come back to me. Some of it did and some, not so much. I think Con is misunderstood and carrying a huge burden that only a few people/dragons know about. One other thing....Constantine’s dead.

Bee and Constantine together seem like an unlikely mating. With Con thinking he’s in love with Ysolde (who is mated to Baltic), being dead (sacrificed his life years ago) and his dragonkin hating him for his part in their bloody history, he has a few issues. Bee is an independent Charmer (curse breaker) who had been hurt in a previous relationship with another dragon. When the two meet under unusual circumstances, they’re attracted to each other, but spend most of their time slinging insults. Con also has a bad habit of talking about kinky stuff at the weirdest times, but I think it’s his way of slowing things down, distracting people around him and giving himself time to prepare for a situation. There were some steamy scenes, but there was more talk than action, in the first half.

As per usual Katie MacAlister has provided me with a humorous romance that includes enough action, adventure and Demon Lord havoc to keep me entertained. I loved catching up with the wyverns and their mates, Jim the demon dog and a new character named Gary, who has a similar outlook on life as Jim. Dragon Storm has ended with a happy couple, but there are unresolved issues that the Dragon’s and their mates must face in the future. I look forward to more Katie MacAlister dragon's in the future.

Dragon Storm is book two in the Dragon Falls series by Katie MacAlister. 

I do love me some dragons. Katie MacAlister won me over with her dragons with the Aisling Grey series, about the Green Dragons, from then on I have been in love with the world and quirky characters. Yes, it’s had it’s up’s and down’s as all series do, but I still can’t get enough of these dragons. 

Dragon Storm stood on it's own, but is best if you read these in order. It’s a mini series inside a larger one. Even if you have not had the pleasure of enjoy other books yet in this series or the other dragons, you will fall in love and want to devour all the books.

This novel brought me back to what I LOVE about this series and what hooked me. It's got great fun characters to fall in love with, humor, comedy, secrets, surprises and romance. I love the banter all the characters have and Gary (comedy relief) reminded me so much of Jim from Aisling Grey series. Jim and all the others we have meet show up to add too the fun and surprises. I will say I’m glad someone finally told Aoife off. She needed a talking to. I didn’t love her in Dragon Fall and still don’t, but this story is not about her.

I had fun with these two. Bee and Constantine are a nice pair, fit together, had nice chemistry and are both a little goofy. Constantine is defiantly a favorite. I loved seeing him get his chance and find someone to stand by him. 

Their is no shortage of adventure, plot twists, surprise, suspense and romance in Dragon Storm. This was one fun wacky silly ride. This novel is best for those that like a little quirky with their paranormal. I couldn't put this one down and will be adding it to my must own list. I can’t wait to read more.

Woohoo! Dragons! Gah I love their cocky asses. And Constantine...oh what a fine ass he had. lol

The quick of it is that dragonkin have a problem. They've been cursed so that none of the dragon septs are able to talk to each other and they've got to find a way to break this curse. Enter Bee...A Charmer. It's her job to unravel the curse. Only things go askance and she gets trapped in Abaddon (hell) in the process and rescued by the aforementioned dragon of the fine ass...Constantine who's a kinda dead dragon spirit and determined to save the dragons. It's...complicated. There's a talking severed head in a hamster ball too. *nods* Complicated.

I had fun with Con and Bee. They bicker and have a little grrr arg at each other but they were a good time. Had nice chemistry and are a little goofy. Constantine is definitely a favorite. He's rather ostracized from other dragons because of, well, he'd say ancient history, but it's left him lonely. I loved seeing him get his chance and find someone who was in his corner. They were a nice pair and fun to be around. Plus...Lots of sexy toy talk and severed head adoption and demons and dragons. Dragons everywhere. Ahhh!

The suspense, well, it's best to have read these in order. Really this is a mini series inside a larger series (each color of dragons has had 3-4 books). There's a complete HEA but the suspense storyline does carry over from the previous book and continues on into the next. Bottom line. The suspense was great. Demon suck. One in particular needs to be run over by a truck. Hopefully we'll get to that next time. lol

Dragon Storm was a wacky silly ride. If you love paranormal romance with a little quirky fun and have a thing for cocky dragons...this one's for you.

The dragonkin have been cursed. They cannot communicate with the other dragon septs. This keeps them from uniting against their common foe, the Demon Lord.

Constantine, a renowned dragonkin warrior, finds himself sent to a hell realm to retrieve a magical item. He discovers Bee, a charmer, imprisoned in a demon dungeon. Due to unfortunate circumstances, Constantine becomes her reluctant rescuer. Setting in motion a series of hilarious, action intense, sexually charged situations that will pull you right into this marvelous read.

I don’t think there could be two magical beings more perfect for each other than Constantine and Bee. Their humor, quirks and oddities are easily accepted…making for great humorous reading in seriously desperate situations.

There isn’t anything better, in my book, than an awesome urban fantasy with dragon shifters…add in a talking head and a very snarky demon dog with amnesia and it’s just icing on the perfectly delicious cake and all that is packaged in a majorly yummy cover.

This is the follow-up book to Dragon Fall and this time it's the turn of the eldest sister Bee to step into the spotlight. Bee is a Charmer which essentially means she has the ability to negate curses. Now for the past two years the Dragons have been subjected to a spell that prevents them communicating but it's Bees task to find an artefact to help remove the curse. Slight problem though as Bee is trapped in Abaddon( think Hell) but luckily a rather obnoxious Dragon arrives also searching for a way to end the curse and it's obvious that working together is their best bet.
Constantine has to watch the woman he loves with someone else as she is mated to another Dragon. Nevertheless he will do all he can to save his fellow Wyvern's and if he can score points against his rival well that's a huge bonus too! What he hadn't expected though was to find himself attracted to the mortal Bee. Yes she has a comely body that could satisfy even the most picky Dragon but her attitude is anything but respectful. So why does Constantine find himself wanting to protect her and just how are they going to finally get even with the Demon Lord who has cursed them all?
I wasn't that happy with Bee in the first book but here we get explanations and if honest she acquit's herself very well. She feels bad that her sister suffered and helping the Dragons is one way to make amends. Bee is brave, snarky and definitely no push over but that arrogant, irreverent Constantine is pushing all her buttons!
What can I say about Constantine? I loved that he delights in winding up the other Dragons and his way of scoring points is hilarious. Also I must point out that guy has sex on the brain morning,noon and night! His ideas when it comes to wooing Bee with toys just tickled me. What's really lovely though is his easy acceptance of Gary who stole every scene he was in. No spoilers here but getting Gary a truck was the funniest thing I've read in a long time.
Ok bottom line this series is probably best read in order as characters from previous stories feature heavily. It's a fun light hearted read but it's about to get even more complicated I fear. Well written and a must read for Ms MacAlister fans.

I think that I am just too old for these books now. Certain expressions are beyond me...*and* my 22 year old niece. While I found the part about "Twatter" funny, I found the endless dialogue about the blow up sheep and the "filling the cream filled doughnut" to be a bit childish and not funny.

The seemingly never-ending sexual dialogue was annoying as was the disembodied head.

It seems that Katie may have just reached the end of her rope and is grasping at anything to try to keep these fresh. I've been reading her books for over a decade now (maybe more?) and I have seen a lot of evolution in all of her books and especially the dragon series....this book was just not a good one. And this is unfortunate since I really do want to see what happens with Rowan.

If you want something chaotic and slapstick funny, yet a little more tasteful (? I'm not sure that is the word I'm looking for, but it will do for now) - try "Noble Intentions" by this author, I think it was one of her best.

I read the first book in this series. It was not memorable enough for me to remember hardly anything that happened. Although I like Katie MacAlister's quirky style in both her historical romance and contemporary romance, her Dragon series are too out there for me. Without the constraints of any reality, these just go way over the deep end in absurdity and raunch. I will not be continuing this series but I will read more by the author

My English review

I do not necessarily read a lot of paranormal romances but when it comes to Katie McAlister, I never ask myself many questions. This is an author who has an undeniable talent to present her readers with something a little different with always a big touch of humor that is really appreciated! I also had a great time with the first volume and I did not wait long to dive into this one to find out what the author would present us again. Did I say that there were dragons?

We therefore discover Constantine, the ghost of an ancient dragon, wandering like a lost soul until his former girlfriend, Ysolde, offers him a new quest: the ability to break the curse that keeps all the dragons. Attractive, is not it? Except for this, Constantine must travel to the demons’ world to try to recover an ancient talisman and thus regain its former glory. However, things did not really go as planned and that starts with his meeting with a Charmer, Bee, who is prisoner by the demons but with the same mission; or meeting with Gary, the talking head. Yes, you read it correctly, a talking head. I also loved that character, he is completely crazy, pretty boring it must be said, and he loves ranting about all sorts of topics! His scenes are always so fun to follow. But back specifically to the main characters. We therefore follow Constantine, who, it must be said, has an oversized ego but that is seen fairly quickly. He does not hesitate to speak his mind whenever he wants to and it was pretty fun to see him evolve around Bee. In terms of the young woman, I appreciated the fact that she resists him initially despite the advances of the man and it is true that I also liked her gentle and determined nature. In short, a pretty cool duo as you can see.

Returning to the story, the two will have to team up to try to understand what exactly is happening with this curse that ultimately seems more complicated to break than expected. Moreover, Constantine will face the demons of his past he thought he had left behind long ago.

You will therefore understand that once again the author presents a very nice story and I was very happy to have the opportunity to discover it. To see what happens afterwards with such purpose.

Ich liebe die Drachenreihe (und somit auch jeden einzelnen Band der Unterreihen) von MacAlister. Für diejenigen, die es interessiert, die Reihenfolge ist wie folgt:
Aisling Gray/Dragon Love Reihe (4 Bände)
Silver Dragons (3 Bände)
Light Dragons (3 Bände)
Black Dragons (3 Bände)
Die Silver Dragonsreihe fand ich zwar etwas schwächer, aber ansonsten haben mich alle Bücher sehr begeistert.
In diesem zweiten Band der Black Dragons geht es nun um Constantine und Bee. Endlich kann Constantine seine unerwiderte Liebe zu Ysolde (Baltics Gefährtin – siehe Light Dragons) ablegen und findet seine eigene Gefährtin. Ich mag Constantine als Charakter sehr und er hatte wieder einiges an Humor mit in die Story gebracht. Seine Obsession, was Liebesspielzeug angeht, wurde sehr sehr witzig rüber gebracht. Die Liebesgeschichte entwickelte sich in einem angenehmen Tempo, war sehr humorvoll, prickelnd und sexy. Mir gefiel es wieder sehr gut. Bee ist eine Fluchbrecherin und passt sehr gut zu ihm. Sie lässt sich die Butter definitiv nicht vom Brot nehmen.
Die Haupthandlung der Drachenbücher geht hier auch um einiges weiter. Es wird ja nach dem Talisman gesucht, um endlich den Fluch zu brechen, der auf den Drachen liegt und sie daran hindert mit einander vernünftig zu kommunizieren. Dementsprechend spielt Abbadon (die Hölle) hier auch wieder eine große Rolle und die verschiedenen Demonennfürsten ebenfalls. Alles wird wieder angenehm spannend und sehr unterhaltsam geschrieben.
Der Humor ist aber wieder das Kernstück des Ganzen. Besonders witzig war Gary. Ich möchte hier aus Spoilergründen nicht sagen wer das ist, aber er macht Jim (Dämonenhund von Aisling) wirklich Konkurrenz was Humor angeht. Allein für ihn hat sich das Buch schon gelohnt zu lesen und auch wie Constantine und Bee mit ihm im Laufe des Buches zusammenwachsen und ihn behandeln. Einfach göttlich.
Ich kann diese Reihe nur jedem UrbanFantasy-Fan empfehlen, der auch auf Humor viel Wert legt. Aber lest die Reihe wirklich von Anfang an, da sich die Grundhandlung über all die Unterreihen hinwegzieht und man die vielen Charaktere nur verstehen kann, wenn man alle Bände gelesen hat. Es lohnt sich aber sehr.

This is another zany fast paced look into the Dragon Fall world. Granted it took me a while to warm up to Constantine as he was rather stiff and Bee was a little too caustic. I couldn’t quite figure out how they became attracted to each other. Once they did they changed and I really liked them. Of course they’re surrounded by the dragons and other magical folk that we met in book one. I loved the fun story but wish that the characters would get a little warmer so instead of just laughing and enjoying the story, we grow to care about them more. That being said, I am more than ready to read the next installment to see just where the story is going and what new strange people we’ll be introduced too. It should be fun.

Rolling with the 2 star reviewers on this one. Generally I'm happy enough with a Katie MacAlister book, but this one was just... lacking. MacAllister has written a dozen-ish of these "dragon" tales, and usually she adds a new twisty element to each story, but that didn't happen here. The chemistry wasn't there between Constantine (The Bland) and his mate Bee. Plus... I kind of hated Bee, she was such a smug know-it-all twat (there is this ultra-crappy thing she did to her own Sister which she manpologizes for... "I'm sorry YOU feel that way, I did as I thought best, I don't see how you can possibly blame me" ... it was a truly gag-inducing scene). Bee managed to get on my last nerve. The sex scenes were still pretty good, but the plot was tedious. Even if you follow this series, you can skip this particular book and be missing very little. The only new addition was Gary, though he mainly comes off as a second Effrijim. I'm not planning to give up on the dragons just yet, but I am hoping she steps it up, and soon.

I must be burning out on PNR as I find my faves lacking! This was repetitive and there was hardly any plot, again. I even got fed up with the replica romances and the characters that look like photo copies of each other. I'm wondering if an author can't create new characters, wouldn't they be gpbetetr off if they stopped writing?

Despite all my complaining, it was still a decent read and I'm sure to read the last installment. Let's hope it'll be a pleasant surprise.

Loved the H/h and their initial bickering but after a while it felt inappropriate at times.

They would be talking about something serious like deaths in their family and then talk sexual kinks in the next breath.

It was hard to take any of the danger seriously when the humor was so unbalanced.

As a ghost, sort of existing between the two worlds, the hero lives to annoy the mate of the woman he's vowed to love forever. But inside he's grown listless and feels adrift from other dragons. Then he's asked to travel into hell to retrieve a talisman that will end the curse handing over the dragon kind.

When he arrives in hell, he finds the heroine in prison. She had the same idea, to secret into the demon lords quarters and steal the talisman. But she got caught and becomes infuriated when he first declines her demands to free her. Then the hero overhears the guards talking about killing her, so he reluctantly returns and breaks her loose. Together they barely make it out of hell alive but they do succeed and with the talisman. Problem is, the demon lord they targeted isn't actually the demon lord who cast the spell. No, that demon lord is the mother of all demon lords and the hero's estranged evil father who murdered his wife and tried desperately to murder his son.

Up until the point of discovering the hero's secret, the heroine thought his to be sexy yes, but rather shallow and without any true substance. Then is all changes. She sees within him vulnerability and goes from vowing to never again become involved with a dragon to starting an affair with one. Also, she finds herself standing up for and protesting against the manner in which other dragons treat him. When they find the correct talisman and succeed in ending the curse, they are overjoyed.

The heroine has single handily saved the entire dragon race from extinction. But it's not that easy and their problems aren't over. There's still the manner of the evil demon lord being free to walk about causing havoc as well as the relationship issues to be sorted out between the hero and heroine-mainly concerning whether or not she is his true mate.

I found this book to be exhausting. Very one note and without much in the way of emotional or storyline layers. It was a cookie cutter romance, very much like all the other book in the series. I don't know why I enter into these books expecting anything fantastic because I'm always sorely disappointed. Once again I found myself reading a basic, no substance and intensely annoying book with one dimensional characters who talk way too much about absolutely nothing at all and for far too long.

It's almost like the author is just using filer to try to make a story that could realistically be about 150 pages into a full length book. That peppered with horribly awkward conversations about sex toy and such made this book particularly cringe worthy. It just didn't do anything for me, sad to say and as such I think it's best I take a break from this author for a while.

Maybe some space will do us good.

First book I read in the Black Dragon series I enjoyed but felt just a wee bit lost. This time around, I could care less about that lost feeling because I LOVED Dragon Storm! Daring adventures, lovable characters and lots of laugh out loud moments had me devouring this book as fast as I could.

Constantine. Wyvern, charming, dead(?!) he’s lonely and forced to watch they woman he loves be mated to someone else. Until, an opportunity to reverse a deadly curse on his kind presents itself. All he has to do is go to Abaddon, steal an ancient artifact and reverse a curse. Easy peasy! He just didn’t expect to meet a Charmer that would turn his world upside down.

I haven’t laughed so hard reading a paranormal romance in I don’t know how long. It all starts with a deviant sexual aid in the form of a deflated blow up sheep in fishnet stocking. That right there hooked me in. A blow-up sheep? ROFL!!! It belongs to none other than our very hero Constantine. Between Twatter, ladyplant, talking heads in gerbil balls and sex toys shaped like a U, I pretty much read this whole book with tears of laughter in my eyes. Constantine I originally thought was a bit too smug. However, that quickly changed to dragon with a heart of gold, and a wicked sense of humor, although I wasn’t always sure if he was serious or just being funny. Bee was quite the saint dealing with Constantine and all the things that came out of his mouth (”I am wise in the way of Oprah…”) without bashing him over the head. The sticky situations they found themselves in were both amusing and adventurous. Do they get a happy end? Yup. Was it what I expected? I’m not sure. Did I find anything about this story predictable? Absolutely not. And I love every minute of it!

I word about the secondary characters. Outstanding! In the previous book, we had Jim for our comedy relief who was a dog, who was actually a demon. This time around we have Gary the Knocker. Actually it’s Gareth but no one can remember that. He’s cheery, funny, lacks a filter and has a crush on Constantine. He also happens to be just a head. Yes, the very head in a gerbil ball. If you think the things Constantine said were funny wait to you get a load of Gary! To make things more interesting, characters from the previous books all make an appearance. Because of them and all their hilarious discussions, I am now officially a Katie MacAlister fan.

Der Silberne Drache Constantine von Norka tristen seit ewiger Zeit sein Dasein als Geist. Aktuell wohnt er bei Baltic und Ysolde und langweilt sich dort eher. Das ändert sich schlartig, als er mit der Beschwörerin Bee einen persönlichen Gegenstand von Asmodeus stehlen soll, um seinen Fluch zu brechen.

Ich habe jetzt schon länger keine Bücher mehr von der Autorin gelesen, kenne aber einige der anderen Drachen-Reihen von ihr. Auch bei der Black Dragons Reihe bleibt sie ihrem bekannten Muster treu. Constantine ist der typische Drache, selbstverliebt und total überheblich. So werden eigentlich alle Drachen in ihren Büchern beschrieben. Die Liebesgeschichte steht im Mittelpunkt der Handlung und das ganze wird sehr humorvoll beschrieben. Meistens bekommen die Charaktere irgend einen komischen Partner dazu, in diesem Fall ist es Gary, der nur noch aus seinem Kopf besteht. Diesen Humor muss man schon mögen, um die Bücher der Autorin gut zu finden.
Die Black Dragon Reihe ist dahingehend anders, dass in jedem Teil ein anderes Paar im Mittelpunkt der Handlung steht. Bei diesem Buch handelt es sich um den 2. Teil der Black Dragon Reihe, den 1. Teil habe ich gar nicht gelesen, weil ich mich mit der Reihenfolge vertan habe. Das macht jetzt aber nicht wirklich etwas, weil ja in jedem Teil ein anderes Paar die Hauptrolle spielt.
Der Klappentext ist übrigens völlig falsch, Bee ist eine Beschwörerin und keine Gestaltenwandlerin. Außerdem will sie sich sehr wohl befreien lassen, denn sie soll ja den Fluch brechen und gemeinsam mit Constantine den persönlichen Gegenstand von Asmodeus suchen.

Leider liefert die Autorin nicht wirklich etwas Neues und das Buch erinnert stark an die anderen Bücher. Ich denke nicht, dass ich weitere Bücher der Autorin lesen werde. Von mir gibt es 7 von 10 Punkte.

These dragons are something else I love them, "Constantine, being a male, and having natural instincts and urges common to those of his gender, couldn’t help looking, but he realized almost instantly that congratulating Bee on her nice breast wouldn’t be appreciated, and instead pretended not to watch when she swore and wrestled herself into what was admittedly a very feminine bra." Constantine is so full of himself, “your jealousy pleases me, although it is not necessary. I will not betray you to another woman, or even a pair of women, no matter how comely they are.” Constantine amused me, “again with my a**,”he said, trying to capture one of my nipples in his mouth. “I am beginning to think it is an obsession with you. You may admire my a**. You may touch it. You may even rake your fingernails across it, because that is pleasing, and does not make me uncomfortable. However, that is all. Please accept the fact that I do not desire any further action therein. And while you’re at it, stop squirming so that I can love you the way I wish to.” I loved this book the men are always demanding and bossy and the women give it right back to them.

Same comedy & thin plot as first book in series. The plot here is centered around the male and female protagonists accepting one another as mates. The curse aspect of the plot from the first book in the series (Dragon Fall) is resolved, but the larger Bael problem remains. Like book 1, there is a comedic sidekick and their banter often hinders the pace of the book. And quite frankly, the characters act in such stupid ways sometimes that I want to smack some sense into them. I mean, if you are sneaking into Hell to STEAL something from the demon lord, how idiotic is it to TELL a chatty person what you are doing??? Ridiculous. Glad I checked this out from my library and didn't pay $7 for it.

Well, it's a quick read. I keep reading MacAlister's dragon novels because I keep hoping some of the original freshness and inventiveness of the Aisling Grey series will return. I continue to be disappointed. "Crap on a cracker"??? Really? Bee imitating Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan? Gary, and the last sentence of the novel are the most original parts of this addition to the series, and Gary is a pale imitation of Jim.

The chemistry is sorely lacking from the main couple. The female lead is too much like the ones from previous books, such that I feel she is trying too hard to be everything. Desire was not built between these two. I kept reading because unlike other books lately, I don't hate it.

This formula is getting a bit tired and it felt like the author was sort of bored with it too. The heroine was totally one dimensional and wile some of the heroes in this series are delightful, this one just didn't do it for me. Hope the next one is better.

Also, ich muss sagen, "Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Liebe" aus der Black Dragon Reihe von Katie MacAlister hat mich wirklich überrascht – und das auf eine sehr positive Weise! Ich bin ein großer Fan von Serien, in denen jedes Buch in sich abgeschlossen ist, und dieses hier hat mich nicht enttäuscht. Es ist doch immer wieder schön, wenn man ein Buch zur Hand nimmt und weiß, dass man eine komplette Geschichte bekommt, oder?

Dieses Mal steht ein anderes Pärchen im Mittelpunkt, und das war wirklich unerwartet. Manchmal denkt man ja, man hat den Dreh raus, aber dann kommt so ein Twist und plötzlich ist alles anders. Und ich muss sagen, ich liebe diese Überraschungen! Ich meine, wer hätte gedacht, dass Constantine, diese Nervensäge, die Hauptfigur sein würde? Ich konnte mir ein Lachen kaum verkneifen, als ich das realisierte. War das bei euch auch so?

Katie MacAlisters trockener Humor zieht sich natürlich wieder durch das ganze Buch. Es ist dieses subtile, fast schon beiläufige Witzeln, das mich immer wieder zum Kichern bringt. Ich habe so oft laut gelacht, dass meine Lachmuskeln ernsthaft gelitten haben. Und dann ist da noch Bee, die Gestaltwandlerin – meine Güte, sie ist kein bisschen besser als Constantine! Die beiden sind ein echtes Dream-Team, oder vielleicht sollte ich sagen, ein Comedy-Duo.

Die alten Bekannten aus den vorherigen Bänden tauchen natürlich auch wieder auf, und es fühlt sich an wie ein Wiedersehen mit alten Freunden. Es gibt diese Vertrautheit, die einen sofort wieder in die Welt der Drachen und Gestaltwandler zieht. Man fühlt sich einfach zuhause, wenn man die Seiten aufschlägt, und das ist etwas, was ich an dieser Reihe besonders schätze.

Aber mal ehrlich, habt ihr auch so eine Leidenschaft für diese Welt entwickelt? Manchmal erwische ich mich dabei, wie ich mir wünsche, selbst ein Teil dieser fantastischen Welt zu sein – auch wenn ich wahrscheinlich vor Lachen umkommen würde, wenn ich Constantine und Bee im echten Leben begegnen würde.

Alles in allem kann ich "Wo Rauch ist, ist auch Liebe" nur wärmstens empfehlen. Es ist eine perfekte Mischung aus Humor, Leidenschaft und unerwarteten Wendungen. Wenn ihr die ersten Bände gemocht habt, werdet ihr dieses Buch lieben. Und wenn ihr neu in der Reihe seid, dann ist dies ein großartiger Einstieg! Lest es und lasst euch überraschen – ihr werdet es nicht bereuen.

Dieses Buch hat mich in jeder Hinsicht überrascht, da ich der festen Überzeugung war, dass es in dieser Reihe nur um Kostya, den Wyvern der schwarzen Drachen, gehen würde. Als ich dann die Widmung des Buches in Bezug auf Constantin's Person gelesen habe, war ich vollkommen verwirrt und nach dem ersten Kapitel war mir dann eindeutig klar, dass es in dieser Geschichte wohl ein vollkommen unerwartetes Liebespaar die Hauptrolle spielen würde.
Der männliche Hauptcharakter Constantine, der ja eigentlich ein auferstandener Geist ist, hat mich schon mehr als überrascht, aber als dann auch noch Bee, die Schwester von Kostya's Gefährtin Aoife, als weiblicher Hauptcharakter die Bühne betreten hat, war ich kurzfristig sprachlos. Ich konnte mir so gar nichts unter der Geschichte der beiden vorstellen, weil sie für mich vollkommen an den Haaren herbeigezogen wirkte.
Constantine war bis jetzt mit seiner Art ja nicht unbedingt "mein Fall" und auch seine eigene Geschichte konnte leider nichts an meinen nicht vorhandenen Sympathien für ihn ändern. Meine daher in den weiblichen Hauptcharakter gesetzten Hoffnung, wurden aber leider auch nicht erfüllt, da auch Bee's Persönlichkeit mich leider nicht für sie einnehmen konnte. Trotzdem, oder vielleicht gerade deshalb, finde ich, dass die beiden ein großartiges Paar abgeben und wirklich gut zusammen passen. Der Plot selbst ist ziemlich skurril, mit dem Klopfer Geri, der nur noch aus seinem Kopf besteht, und dem Höllenfürst Bael, der sich nicht nur als Drache sondern auch noch als Constantines Vater entpuppt, aber die Autorin hat mich mit ihrer leichten und lockeren Erzählweise und ihrem humorvollen Zugang wie immer großartig unterhalten, weshalb es trotz der für mich wenig ansprechenden Charaktere 3 Sterne von mir gibt.

After reading 75% of the book, I am done. The plot of this story was to break the curse on the dragons, and that's the part I reached. I debated continuing, because I was so close to completing the book, but to be honest I was so turned off by Bee that I just couldn't bring myself to continue.

I will say I really liked Constantine. He had his flaws to, but there was a humbleness hidden underneath all of the dramatics that made him endearing. Also, he gave off a genuine desire to help others.

I never got a sense of humbleness from Bee, and often her desire to help others felt more or less driven by pride and a belief she is right and that no one else can do anything as well as she can. Also, it was disappointing that one of the details that added some vulnerability to her character was never brought to light (her fear of dragon fire). It's actually really disturbing, because multiple times Constantine uses his flames on her and she scolds him or backs away, but she never explains why she is upset. Admittedly, there is an argument that Bee doesn't have to explain herself; her reaction should speak for itself and Constantine should respect her boundaries. However, part of a good relationship is communication. A scene in which Bee reveals what she went through and Constantine shows sympathy would have been really sweet and added to the romance.

Bee aside, I did have fun with the story for the most part. If the rest of the book had been from Constantine's POV I would have finished the book.

1st Baltic now Constantine has been turned from villian to hero... Nice move in explaining his real connection to Baltic too!!!


I guess Kostya only got one book which is more than fine. And, i felt Bees explaination on what she did to her baby sister (Kostya's mate) somewhat reasonable but not needed cause she ended up thrown into the dragon world the moment she was out of the commited hospital anyway.

Finally Constantine got his own mate even if he too gave his life for Baltic's mate... over 400 years ago. Bee makes a great mate for him too...can't wait to read more of them and i hope they too can create a family together even if he is still a spirit.

Now, the next book should prove to be interesting considering Bee just introduced her brother to the Dragons as their possible warrior needed... i'm surprised that Bee's baby sister had nothing to say on this matter and now she gets to confront her brother too for having her commited the last 2 years unnecessarily.

I adore character banter especially witty ones but this book overdid it. 80% of the time it felt like the characters digressed too much from the main topic they were talking about. They were beating around the bush and seemed to no be reaching any conclusion. There wasn’t really much plot going on. It appears that the kind of solved things at the start only for something to happen so they were back at square one.

A point to note is that, this is the second book in the series which also explained why half of the time I felt lost. But at the same, I wasn’t supposed to be lost because the author kept reminding readers of significant information 🌚 /oh well/

Plus, the sexy scenes weren’t that magical. It felt awkward and they were just toying with each other.

I thought this really had potential but it disappointed me a bit. I borrowed the third book and I think I’m going to try it out to see if I change my mind about the series 😆

Constantine and Bee. Constantine is a dragon who has died and now a spirit but can be in human form. Bee is a mortal who is a Charmer that helps remove curses. They met each other while trying to get a talisman from a demon lord. She was in a cell when Constantine got there. After getting her out of the cell they proceeded to find the object they needed but ran onto a little trouble. Afterwards they tried to lift the curse but could not and found out the demon lord was the wrong demon. While they are figuring out what to do next they gave in to their attraction and was surprised how well they got along. They also had taken a talking head without a body from the demon. What a hilarious situation that is. Now what are they going to do? Seems they have quite a pickle to figure out.
