Rick Remender is an American comic book writer and artist who resides in Los Angeles, California. He is the writer/co-creator of many independent comic books like Black Science, Deadly Class, LOW, Fear Agent and Seven to Eternity. Previously, he wrote The Punisher, Uncanny X-Force, Captain America and Uncanny Avengers for Marvel Comics.
There's something almost masochistic about how Remender always deliberately crushes hope - but I think at the very least he doesn't just present grim situations, but shows how people struggle with hope, and that is thematically strong enough to give this series quite a lot of weight. But let's hope the series doesn't just become some kind of sadomasochistic emotional pornography.
Well, I thought this was the hopeful ending rather than another advent of a hardcore nihilistic brute getting his jollies by destroying hope ending with a too be continued. I love the art style and setting but it almost feels getting deliberately sadomasochistic
