Second chances don't come easy. Sometimes, you have to fight like hell for what you want. Mandy I didn't want to get married right out of high school like my parents did. But avoiding their mistakes didn't keep me from making my own. Five years later, I'm back home after chasing an empty dream. Brett's still here -- and he's still the only guy I've ever loved. But how can he forgive me for running away from him? Brett I'm a demon in the ring ... but Mandy still owns my heart. That doesn't mean I'm ready to pick up where we left off, though. I don't know if I forgive her, but I'm not letting anyone else near her. She's mine to protect whether she knows it or not... Even if I have to put a baby in her belly and a ring on her finger. Slamming Demon is an HEA, standalone MMA/Bad Boy romance with a dominant alpha hero and a young heroine trying to make her way in the world. Some content intended for mature readers.
This story is told in dual povs. Mandy and Brett are a second chance romance story and all was good but this writer spent too much time on their back story memories. I was ready for them to find one another again. In the end it worked out but it felt a bit rushed.
Absolute rubbish, done more skimming then reading. Was really looking forward to this book after reading the 1st book especially when the author said "read the second book to see more of Chase" which was totally misleading. I was thinking we'd see Chase and Averys wedding, Baby or just more of their life in general but nothing. Chase was mentioned a few times but that was it. Really disappointed and wont be reading anymore from this author, sorry
Meh. This is wasn't as good as the first one. While Brett was super alpha, I was annoyed that almost the whole book is a flashback. Barely anything substantial is built in present day. And I don't get why Mandy wanted to run from him so much. Her reasoning was weak to me.
"I've completely forgotten how fucking deliriously amazing it is to blow your load in a pussy with no rubber on. It’s feels like I stuck my throbbing cock into a molten vice of slick walls that squeeze me, begging for me to blow my very essence into her."
I received this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
We have Mandy and Brett. Mandy is not doing well in History class and Brett is hired to tutor him. At first Mandy doesn't think twice about Brett. He's tall, lanky and kind of geeky looking. Not her normal guy that she goes for. But when she finally does see Brett, sparks fly. Brett agrees to go with her to a party and "act" as her date to keep some other guy from bugging her. The chemistry between these 2 is electric.
The book starts with them many years later, meeting up when Brett and his MMA buddies come into the restaurant where Mandy works. Mandy feels like a failure, not making it in California and having to come home with her tail between her legs.
Way too many spoilers to explain more. I loved the book and stayed up a few late nights wanting to finish it all.
These two characters have a lot of history together! They were each other first love, first real relationship and first everything really! All that changed once stupid circumstances (on the girls part) pushed them away from each other to the point of them not staying in contact for the last 5 years! But when they do meet again sparks fly! And it's just amazingly hot to see!
My favourite thing about this book though is how both authors decided to make the flashback of the teenage versions of these two characters take up most of the book. It made us learn more about their relationship and how serious it was...but also! It was more interesting then other books who would of just had a page or two to give the audience an idea of what they were like in the past!
Amazing, funny, witty, sexy, romantic and sad read that you will seriously enjoy!
Ok so i totally loved this book. First i love how they incorporated the story line of Chase and Avery and I really loved how much history Brett and Mandy had. He never let her go even though she was no longer around or with him. he tried to rid her of his thoughts but it never worked. and one look at her and he knew it would never be over between them. Mandy is so stubborn, but when he finally puts his foot down and claims her again, she finally concedes to their fate. So good. a definite must read for sure.
I received a copy of this for an honest review. I really liked this book. When you start reading it not sure what is going to happen seems like a typical bad boy, man whore book, but then a few more chapters and you get the back story. High school romance with a side of parental divorce and much more tragedy with a side of fear of the future and in all honesty fear of love. Izzy definitely has a knock out with this one!!
While this is a good book, the build up in the beginning took forever. The attraction was long in the tooth. There was plenty about his time apart from her, but not her time apart from him. What happened in California, why did she fail? Did she get along with dads new lady? Where was the wedding? We went from ring to birth of the baby. A little more details would make for a great book!
Mandy and Brett Brett has only ever loved Mandy. She was his first everything, which is a nice mixup. After a scare in high school Mandy breaks up and basically disappears from his life. They say bad things happen in threes. That's the case for Mandy. A series of events changes her life and next thing she knows she walks away from Brett chasing a life she thinks she needs. Most of this book is telling Brett and Mandy's history. It's a sweet story
Just not what I expected. You have two teens that fell hard for each other at a young age. Her parents cause her to break up with him and push him out of her life. He gets pissed and turns his back only to lose his parents weeks after she moves.
Now years later they meet again and have a chance at happiness....
Not a lot of drama. Great friends for support. I think I’m more interested in Grace and Max’s story.
Read all 3 books now and Have to say I loved them, being really honest book 3, I didn't really fancy from the write and wasn't going to bother reading but am I glad I did! As much as I loved the first 2 books Bears book was my favourite 😊 But also the fact that all 3 books meshed so perfectly together was brilliant, it brought so much to the 3rd book! Loved them! 😊
I thought this was interesting and I'm glad I read it. Demon wants a NEW and he thought he had until she ran away. I would have thought since he knew the situation with her parents he would have put it together sooner. I was very happy how fast it was going and how much it kept everything smooth.
Its crazy when you find two people who fall in love in high school, not stay together because of their parents actions. Brett and Amanda were the definition of high school sweet hearts. But what does one do when the love you thought your parents had for one another does not last? This was a great second chance at love story.
I was kind of expecting this to be more like Banging Reaper. I just feel that this spent so much time telling the story of their past that once the present came back around, the ending was rushed. just kind of anticlimactic.
I liked this book. Loved the way the characters interacted with each other. Sweet and sad moments. I liked this part: I am walking out a Champion, and I am holding Mandy’s hand. And this part: “Mine, Mandy. You are meant for me. We are meant to be.”
Is really pretty good, lots of spark and love. Just a little too much blah blah fill in for me, though I guess it does make the story complete. Totally enjoyed the adorable ending!
I love the underdog getting the win. I love the connection between the two characters. And high school sweethearts doesn't happen often. Enjoyed the cute, neurotic insecure emotions with fly off the handle actions
Fantastic!! The best one from the series so far. Story of Brett and Mandy. Brett was amazing and patient with Mandy. At times I wanted to scream at Mandy. He was too good for her. Loved it. Will read again
This was a good book. Not as good as the first book but still good. I don't really care for books in the now then just backwards in years. But it was a fun read.
