Author of sexy, small town romance. Lover of banana Laffy Taffy, 80's ballads, 90's rock, and road trips. Location: Wisconsin. Sign: Sagittarius. Religion: Coffee and naps.
For God's sake!!! What twist was that at the end?? I didn't see it coming... This book was really good, but i think it hurt me a little bit near to the end... In here, we had to do with a friends to lovers story... Those two worked me out very badly, then they broke my heart and theirs of course, and the last page gave me a little hope for them, but damn! The blurb of the second book frustrated the hell out of me... Damn!!! And now what???
Well, Colton and Taylor were best friends for ever... The last seven years, they are apart a lot but their connection are remaining strong as ever... In my opinion, they always had a thing for each other, they were just in big denial... Colton was always so strangely possessive of her and Taylor was always secretely jealous of him... So, isn't it obvious???
Colton was a big star in motocross FMX races and his fame was rising even more as the time was passing, but unfortunately, he had to make some sacrifices in his life to succeed his goals... His only weakness was Taylor... His best friend... The person that he loved above everyone else... The person that he wanted in his life more than just a friend... But Taylor deserves too much and he doesn't want to hurt her... ever!!!
"There's something special about Taylor, I won't deny that. But I've never touched her, nor have I given her the slightest hint that I've wanted to either, because I don't know if I do. She's my best friend and I'm not stupid -getting involved could destroy everything that's already so good between us."
Taylor had more difficult life from Colton's. Because of a brain damage of her father after an accident before three years, she had to abandon her dreams and to return in her hometown to be near to her parents... This small city and this kind of life is suffocating her... She needs to take the reins of her life in her hands and to go back in track for once again... Colton is her best friend in the world, so why her heart is stummering when she is close to him and why her body is heating up when he is around???
Well, as you can see, the sexual tension between them was too thick all the time and in some point it drove me nuts!!! They were so in love with each other, but they preffered to pretend that they were not because they didn't want to ruin their friendship and that was so frustrating... And when they were managing to take one step closer to each other, something was getting always in their way and that was such a shame!!! They deserved to be with each other, but Colton's carreer was a bitch who wanted every single part of him and that led him to do the only thing that he didn't want to ever do... To hurt his Taylor!!!
"Friendships like ours are special... Too special to screw up by playing around like that."
So there is hope for these two??? Their feelings are real or just an infatuation??? Can their love bring them together??? Can they end up winners in this ugly shit that've been played upon their backs??? And what about their friendship??? It's ruined already or they can put the broken pieces back together??? Well, i'm dying for those answers and i honestly need something good for those two... The surprise at the end of the book took my breath away but i'm so sure that for once again our heroes will create a mess!!! And God damn you, Colton!!! I liked you but i was on Taylor's side with that crazy suggestion of yours!!! Gawd!!! I wanted to kick your ass!!!
Before i close my review, i would like to say that i didn't like at all Liz and i hated even more Bria... God, what an awful bitch!!! Both of them!!! But Bria a little bit more!!! I also wanted to tell to Matt to stop being such a bitter guy and as for Taylor's dad??? Damn, his situation is a difficult one but he was behaving like a total ass!!! Oh! And Trey, you are such a disgusting person!!! How could you do this shit???
Damn, I need the next book... I'm so curious of which will be the development of Colton's and Taylor relationship... Please, please, let it be good!!!

Taylor and Colton have been best friends for years but somewhere over the years, she fell for him and he fell for her, and they fell hard. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed. I loved Taylor but Colton really annoyed me. I found him to be immature and careless. In addition, the book is the same old thing over and over again. And because of the lack of originality, it loses a lot of points.

3.5 - "You're my best friend. Nothing will ever change that." Stars!
Molly threw me for a bit of a loop with FLY, and be warned if you are expecting River Bend with Motocross bikes thrown in you are in for a bit of a surprise. Although the writing is still very much in the author’s usual style, the characters, settings and story-line most definitely aren’t.
There is plenty of drama and angst in this book, as you would expect with a group of twenty-somethings, living it large. Taylor is stuck at home in Maribel, working a dead end job and watching her dreams float by in the distance while her best friend of fifteen years, Colton Wade makes a name and reputation for himself on the Motocross circuit. The lifestyles they both live, are pretty much at opposite ends of the scale.
I need more Taylor in my life, but I don’t know how to tell her.
There are two things that become pretty apparently, pretty early on in this book and that is Coltons lack of interest in taking responsibility for the situations he gets himself into, a lot of them you as a reader can see having Car Crash written all over them in Neon lights from the get-go, also that him and Taylor are very much on the cusp of stepping from BFF territory into something including a whole lot more naked time together.
"I know what you’re packing… And frankly it’s not that impressive. If it were I would’ve had you naked a long time ago."
But you can also see that with the bigger picture neither of them are really ready for a steady commitment. Him due to his lifestyle and the truck load of baggage he is carrying around, and her due to the fact she is struggling to face up to and deal with issues at home and with the other guys in her life.
"I want to share more than phone calls with you."
Although not my favorite book by Molly, and I think this is more because of the nature of the plot and characterizations, especially considering I am not a massive drama/angst addict, it was still a relatively easy read. Nothing was dragged out to the extent that it got annoying, and although both of them make poor decisions about almost everything as it progresses, they are both for the most part a likeable pair.
Be warned FLY does end on a massive cliffy, and although I was expecting it to end up in the air, I was not expecting how it would be handled. Not too long to wait for Flight though, and I am interested to see how Molly handles the second half of this couples story, with all the threads that are needing to be tied off in it.

Alright, I think someone cursed me.
The last few contemporary books I’ve read, oh my gods, they’ve been such a bummer. I’m speechless.
And this book was no exception to the curse.
I started reading the book pretty excited. I rather liked the female lead and I thought things were going to get better but shit just went downhill. I didn’t like the relationship between the characters, I didn’t like how the author sold this amazing friendship when it was everything but that. I didn’t like the writing style and the author spent the whole book throwing situation after situation with no background or context whatsoever. Things happened/were happening just because.
Like I said, I didn’t enjoy the characters at all. Not only the MCs, I disliked the minor ones too, and the plot is something I’ve already read before.
I’m getting tired of the “small town, I need out” trope. And I’m getting tired because it’s not being done well so all I got is whiny ass characters and cliché after cliché.
It was not a friendship, it was ownership.
For a moment I thought I was reading FSOG, not because of the sex but some scenes looked suspiciously familiar. If you’re going to steal something, at least steal something good.
At the end of the book I still didn’t know shit about Colton [main lead] and how/why he doesn’t really spend time with his family when in town and how/why he got to the circuit and how he was Taylor’s best friend. Everything was almost obsessive when it came to her. Their friendship was really toxic and I despised how the book ended.
I won’t be picking up the following installment. This is how NA contemporary should not be written.
PS: Women and men can be friends without having romantic feeling for each other *gasp* I know, shocking.
Colton made it out of their small town. He's an FMX rider flying high becoming a star. He's been on the road for the past few years while Taylor's been stuck in their small town because of her parents. She's had to put her dreams on hold because of an accident that's left her dad with a brain injury with no control of his emotions. She hates to leave her mom behind to go after her own dreams. She also doesn't mind taking care of Colton's home while he's on the road.
Colton and Taylor have been best friends for 15 years. They talk everyday. Taylor's the first person he calls after a show. Taylor's the first person he calls when he's not sure about something his agent wants him to do. Taylor is always there when he needs her. Everyone keeps telling Taylor that Colton is selfish and taking advantage of her but Taylor doesn't see it that way. They are best friends and that's what friends do for each other. Until one day the lines get crossed. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas?
I loved Colton and Taylor. They had amazing chemistry and I could feel how much they cared for each other. But I did feel like Colton was a bit immature. The whole thing with the ad model didn't sit well with me and for sure pissed me off.
Will Taylor finally put herself first and finish college so she can live her own dream? Did they both piss me off toward the end? Yes! Was my mouth wide open at the end? Hell yes! What a fucking cliffy!! Will I be reading the next book that's suppose to release in May? Hell yes! I can't wait!!
I think I've read a few books by this author before and hopefully I will find more that I will enjoy:))
The story is incomplete, it's a cliffhanger, folks. Now that is out of the way because SIGH, here's my personal opinion.
It clearly states this is book 1 but I felt lost as all get out in the beginning as people and relationships are thrown at you with no context or explanation. The hero and heroine supposedly have this epic friendship, but other than it being said over and over, I see no evidence of it. Every dude wants the heroine, every woman wants the hero and he likes to partake, heroine is the hero's emotional crutch, and hero likes to throw money at heroine.
This was almost 200pgs of the hero and heroine wanting to make a move on each other but scared the other one still just wanted to be friends. Which could have worked wonderfully but that was the only depth to our characters. The heroine has a little bit background with her father having a traumatic brain injury but even that wasn't fleshed out too great. The hero's fmx bike career somewhat touched on, the author has a brief scene listing a bunch of tricks and the over and over mentioning of hero having women throw themselves at him.
More context needed and less NA cliche been there done that. I also almost lost an eye rolling it so hard at the ending cliffhanger.
Holy cow, this ended on a nail biting cliffhanger and the 2nd book doesn't come out until May. You've got best friends that grew up together that both have felt something more but never acknowledged until they can't deny it anymore. Their interactions as they start to realize their feelings was actually very cute. Colton was adorable with his behavior towards Taylor. But then you got Brea, the girl who wants Colton for herself and will stop at nothing to keep him close. The last half of the book is pretty angsty with the a nail biting ending. This is one of my favorite reads but I admit I'm nervous for the conclusion. It might get worse before it gets better. It's gonna be hard waiting two months for the next book!

This is the story of Taylor and Colton! Two best friends who after years of innocent friendship, feelings start getting in the way.
I totally loved this story! I loved a book about the love of friends that becomes something more. The writing was really nice and the story was said by dual POV. The plot was moving fast and there were small twists here and there. I've laughed and cried with the interactions of Taylor and Colton! It's amazing how nice two friends are communicating and Ms. McLain put it beautifully on the paper!
Taylor is an amazing heroine. She has a difficult time due to the accident of her father. She has actually given up her life for her parents but she wants to change that. I admire her! It takes lots of courage to make her choices and to deal with the hell she has to deal with! She is an amazing friend to Colton (and the rest of her friends) but she feels something changing among them. And I respect her even more for being honest to herself all through the way.
Colton is a boy that is coming from a small town and suddenly is in the middle of the glory and fame. I have to be honest and admit that I didn't like him. There were points that I thought highly of him but I honestly didn't like his selfish side! In my eyes, he was acting like a small spoiled child thinking that with a nice smile and a nice gesture can get away with anything. He is the reason that the story lost half a star. I cannot stand someone who his ego is so big that doesn't realize how he hurts the others. And I cannot wait to see how from a boy he becomes a man, if he will become a man!
There was so much tension among Taylor and Colton...! It was really fantastic to read!
The end of the book was heart breaking to me in some many ways! It stopped with a cliff hanger that really put me on edge! I cannot wait for the next book to come to my hands!
I definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves a strong, New Adult story!
I requested this book as I liked that the hero Colton is a Motorcross rider but we don't really read much about his Motorcross life. The book is told in alternative POV between Colton and the heroine Taylor but I found that their 'voices' sounded very similar other than the author writes a few swear words into Colton's POV, obviously to try to make him sound 'manly'.
This story was entirely predictable and completely unoriginal. I saw the plot developments coming a mile off. The final scene that ends in a cliffhanger just had me laughing at the predictability and unorginality.
I have just read some of the negative reviews for this book and yet again, I see 'fangirls' slating a reviewer because they didn't like what she implied but they went a bit further by insulting the reviewing style. A note to the author: 'fans' like this do you no favours whatsoever. It has put me off reading the concluding book in this story.

3 "I wanted that kiss." Stars
My first Molly McLain story and I now look forward to reading the next in the Velocity series having finished Fly. Colton and Taylor have been best friends since childhood each grappling with growing feelings towards each other that are much more than friendly. Each of these characters has charisma, charm, and wit I found very refreshing to read. I suppose this is New Adult-esque due to their ages and I found what each of them was internally fighting with fit for the time frame. Colton struggles with keeping his best friend safely tucked away from the prospect of another man while he finds fame. Taylor caters to Colton's whims waiting for it to be her turn all the while wanting to escape small-town blues. As flirting and possessiveness ramp up for both characters their friendship is sent into a tailspin neither saw coming nor do they know how to react to the changes.
I definitely enjoyed Fly. It was fast paced and entertaining with interesting characters and a story I feel invested in reading. There's not a lot of layers to the story and it was a little on the predictable side in terms of the romance but I never felt disengaged. McLain writes in the first person point of view alternating between Colton and Taylor. As Colton is a Motocross racer we get a little bit sports plot but the main story line is these two figuring out what's more important their fondness and friendship or the risk of being so much more. Secondary characters played well into the story also, both as friends and foes alike. I look forward to finding out the next part of Colton and Taylor's story in Fight, the ending left me hanging nicely on that cliff reeling for more.
Colton Wade is at the cusp of becoming a superstar in the world of motocross. He has everything he wants: fame, money, and (of course) woman. But their is something missing in his life. He misses his best friend Taylor. But while he's been living the high life, Taylor has been back home in their small town. Taylor is the one that always fueled him to be better. And he wants to be better for her. But he has had to sacrifice his feelings for her in order to get ahead in his career that DEMANDS every part of him.
They would rather push their feelings aside in order to preserve their friendship. But their feelings can only be pushed aside for so long, and what will Colton do when he is forced to make a choice between his career and the one person that means more to him than anything?! A word of warning, Fly does end on a cliff hanger. And while we shouldn't have to wait to long for Fight (Part 2), if a major chiff hanger isn't your thing, you may just want to wait until Part 2 is released. I am interested in seeing how Molly handles this couples drama in the second book (and I am expecting A LOT of drama/angst).
#TeamTaylor is the only hint I will give to the ending of part 1 of Colton and Taylor's story. I'm hoping Colton can redeem himself to Taylor (and ME!) because he was (most) of my issues with this story. I understand that people have to make sacrifices for their careers, but what he asked Taylor to do is bonkers. No one should ask someone they love that type of question!! NEVER!
Rating: 3.5 out of 5
**I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for a honest review.**
Holy Crap!! Loved, Loved, Loved this story. Yeah, it has a familiar storyline of best friends finally crossing that line BUT this one was really well written and took me on quite the ride of emotions with which I loved every moment of. Nothing like having tears in your eyes on an airplane when reading this!
You have bad boy FMX rider Colton who is making a name for himself and with that fame comes money and women. Does a small town guy know how to handle all of this without turning into a complete jackass? Well that would depend on who you ask. If you ask Colton and Taylor’s friend Matt what he thinks he will say that Colton is just using Taylor and not thinking of what is best for her. After he took off to make a name for himself leaving behind his long time best friend, Taylor to look after his house he bought in their hometown. Not too many people can say that their best friend is of the opposite sex but for Colton and Taylor this didn’t seem out of the ordinary at all. They both have lived through some tough times in their lives and had each other to turn to for support. It was common for Colton and Taylor to talk daily even with Colton away. After all these years people just could not believe that their relationship was as best friend only. Well, that’s the way it was until recently. They were each beginning to have “other” ideas but neither of them had admitted this to the other. They both tested that water little by little not sure if the other person would actually have feelings past their platonic friendship they had and neither of them wanted to ruin that special friendship which they had for all of these years. What if they tried and something went wrong, would they lose their best friend and regret even trying to see if there was more to their relationship?
Taylor had to come back to the small town in Wisconsin after starting college because her dad was in a bad car accident so she put her life on hold and went home to help her mom. Taylor was always there for everyone else; including Colton, but it was beginning to get to her. She needed to get out and do something for herself again so with her making her mind up on trying to see if there was more to their friendship she agrees to go to Vegas to see Colton perform his crazy stunts. She was always a great supporter of Colton and what he had accomplished. While in Vegas Taylor was very proud of Colton for taking first place at the meet. After the meet there was an after party and Colton reluctantly agreed to let Taylor go with him to this party at Trey’s home. Trey was another FMX rider who had met Taylor earlier and had eyes for her and since Colton had always talked about Taylor being only a friend, Trey put some moves on Taylor at this party. Colton didn’t see this coming until it was almost too late because he was busy with ex bed partner, Bria, who was trying to get Colton to commit to making it look like they were still a couple in order to further both of their careers.
During this special weekend that Col had set up for Taylor were they able to take that next step past their platonic friendship or did Trey and Bria throw a big wrench into the Col/Taylor relationship? Were either of them able to get past the events of that weekend or did they ruin their special friendship for good? With all of this, Fly has an ending that leaves you just as surprised as Taylor is at the end. Now how much longer until the second book in this series comes out?! This is one series that I cannot wait to see what the author has next in store for Colton and Taylor. I have just found myself a new author to follow.
This book was provided as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Review by Trinette Dungee Colton Wade is an up and coming FMX rider, while he lives the high live in the spotlight he will always be a small town boy at heart. That small town will always be home especially since the one person who holds his heart is there; but going after Taylor will change everything about their lives as they know it. Col’s career is just starting to take off and he’d love to have Taylor at his side to share it with him; but Taylor kind of has her own thing going on. She’s finally decided that it’s time she got back to her dreams. She’s going to have to leave behind her parents and their issues and focus on her. As much as she loves Colton she’s also realizing that he might be taking advantage of her just a little bit; although he’s not aware of it. She also has to deal with the attraction to her that her other BF, Matt, has.
Taylor cherishes her friendship with Matty as much as she does her friendship with Colton but unlike Colton, Taylor has no desire to pursue a romantic relationship with Matt. This of course causes tension between Col and Matt. Col knows how special Taylor is and feels she deserves nothing but the best. Better than him or Matt but if either of them is going to have her, Col’s determined it will be him.
This book, this book….oh yeah, there were so many ups and downs and twists and turns that I couldn’t believe it when I got to the end! The ups and downs were so seamless that you didn’t realize it was an up or down. I’m pretty quick on the uptake and can generally figure out where a story is going, but this one….uh, no. Not. A. Clue. I mean, I thought I knew where it was going but boy was I wrong. You know how you look at the bottom of your e-reader and it shows you the percentage left? Well, when I happened to glance down and saw that I was about 90% done I started to worry. I had to accept that this was going to be one of those books that didn’t end in an HEA; I mean it happens, not very often but it does happen. Well this was worse than not having an HEA…it was a freaking cliff-hanger!!
Now at some point right towards the end, I did wonder if it would be a cliffy but I couldn’t see what it would be. I mean if it was just going to be Col going on living his “celebrity lifestyle” and Taylor trying to fit in, well that wasn’t going to be very interesting. Seen it, read it a million times. And if you know me, I am not a fan of cliffhangers…I’m instant gratification. I want it all right then and right there. But this cliffhanger…..I never saw it coming!! So Ms. McLain, hats off to you, you kept me entertained the entertained and guessing the entire time.
I really liked this book. I liked all of the characters, the storyline, the way the story was told, I pretty much liked everything about this book; I even liked the little love triangle and I’m very curious to see how it plays out in the next book (which I hope will be released soon). So for Fly I’m giving it 4 stars.
I’m breaking. I’m literally breaking right now. Everything in me feels raw and close to shattering. I barely keep myself sane so I can write this review. So, let’s take this gem from the start.
Fly is, except the first book on the Velocity series, the love story between two best friends, Colton and Taylor. Colton is a FMX, aka motocross, rider. He’s living the big life and little by little, building his career. But, there is someone from back home than never never flees his mind: Taylor, his best friend for 15 years. As for Taylor, her life is more complicated and….. tough. She has been through some emotionally hard situations and was forced to abandon her dreams for awhile so she can take care of her family. Though, also, her best friend Colton never never flees her mind.
He held me like he owned me and, in a way, he does.
But soon, their relationship and connection is going to rise into higher, more…… intimate levels. Lovers levels. In one fateful night, at the “sinful” city, everything is getting upside down.
The story may be about the usual “two-best-friends-who-turn-into-lovers” case, but it has nothing in common with its other similar ones. In this one, your heart is getting squished. Really squished. Especially towards the end, where you don’t know where the tornado of all the emotions imaginable is coming from. I got totally off guard with the emotional variety and whirlwind in which my mind, heart and body gone through. Really, the recovery of such attack isn’t easy and if you bear in mind the way McLain reached the finish line of this first part of T and Col’s love, it only gets harder. But, besides that, it worths every damn second I spent on reading and breaking over it.
Molly McLain done an amazing job with this book. Not only she wrote a love story between two best friends, but, more than that, she showed through it that the different realities/lives of two persons can easily form barriers that are not always easy to pass, no matter how strong the love is. She, also, showed that the only weapon that we have against these barriers-enemies is the willingness to fight to the end for what we want. And in this story, this willingness is more than enough and completely heart-warming. Fight can’t get here soon enough!!! I need to see what will happen next with these incredible characters/lovers and in what position they will be placed after they go through the final round of this race for happiness.
Let me start my thoughts on Fly (Velocity #1) by Molly McLain with the for me at this moment most important one …
THIS BOOK HAS A CLIFFHANGER so be warned (sorry but that needs to be said)
Now coming to Colton and Taylor… their relationship is interesting. They have known each other like FOREVER.
But still Taylor keeps stuff to herself that no one guesses.
And sometimes it is almost as if Colton has a “personality disorder” – and I do not mean that in a bad way. It is just that it seems that he is trying so hard to have two different personalities. His working one where he is completely eaten alive by his demanding motor cross career. And his personal secret heaven that is everything Taylor.
Its been a long time since I have seen such a carful yet fragile construct. As a reader you are waiting from almost page one for the other shoe to drop.
Written in an engaging way this book gives you a view into their lives that wants you to slap both of them and you will find yourselves wanting to hammer some sense into them. I guess it’s the outside view that will give you this logic as all their friends also see what both of them can not seem to grasp.
Their relationship is changing and they are the only ones that can decide which direction they will go.
I am not willing to give a final judgement on the book as I need to see how the story will further unfold but the way I see it now – it will be an interesting journey and the end is wide open for now
Honestly, I enjoyed this book. I caught some feels too! I'm looking forward to more of their story in book 2! May can't get here soon enough.
Colton is a super flawed hero. He loves Taylor, but doesn't know how to love her the way she needs.
Taylor has hidden her feelings for Colton deep. I mean, they are supposedly best friends. One thing I love is that she has a deep sense of loyalty to those she loves.
At the end of the day, this is an intriguing start to what could be a really good story.
Col and Taylor have been best friends since they were little kids. Even thought Col has gone off to become a rising motocross star, Taylor stayed behind in their small town. No matter the distance between them, they still remain really close. Fly follows both Col and Taylor as the lines between friendship and more blur, while handling Col's raising fame and the demands that puts on him.
Because Fly is a bit on the shorter side and is only half of their story (it's a duology), I will break my review into two pieces.
What I liked: Fly was an enjoyable short story. It has the sweet points where they dance the line into relationship status, it had humor between these two friends who are extremely close and aren't afraid to show their goofy sides, and it had some pretty steamy scenes when these two finally came together. Both literally and figuratively. The friendship and easy banter between these two was really what did it for me though. You just can't help but smile as they rib on each other and send pictures of them making goofy faces at the other. It's just adorable.
What I didn't like: There's nothing original here. I mean, I thought maybe I'd get insight into motocross but I didn't. This might as well have been a story about two young adults in college. I was really hoping for more of the motocross life. Maybe ride the bike with him on his run, what it's like when he's practicing with the guys, what it's like when he's hanging out with the guys, just something. I guess I just wanted more from Col. Speaking of Col, I didn't feel like his character stood out. I liked him, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't overly believable. It seemed like all it took to switch from Taylor's POV to Col's was some crude words and throwing the word "fucking" in every other sentence. And lastly, the drama was something you saw coming a mile away. It's been done a million times before. The jealous ex-girlfriend who doesn't know when to let go and instead hangs around, stirs the pot, and causes unnecessary drama. Yeah, I'm over it.
While there were a lot of issues I had with this one, I still really enjoyed it. Like I said, that friendship between the two of them and how close they really are on a mental level was just perfect. I could almost forgive the other stuff. Almost. I'm hoping that in the second half of their story the author steps up their game and doesn't go the same old been-there-done-that route. I want more motocross, more behind the scenes of Col's life when we are in his POV (not just of him being home with Taylor), less typical drama, and more Col and Taylor time.
Favorite part... Taylor applies to go back to college and her and Col are texting back and forth about it before he has to hit the dirt. This was by far the cutest part of the whole book. It shows you just how adorable their friendship is and how close they really are. I mean, he's probably straddling his bike getting ready to go out and do his thing, and yet is taking the time to be there for her during this scary time and help lighten her mood. It's perfect.
" Sending the application right now, I type and hit send. Damn proud of you. Me, too. Biting my lip, I press submit, just like I did six years earlier. My breath hitches a little when the screen flashes application received, and I take a screen shot, sending it to Col. His reply? A picture of himself sticking out his tongue a la Gene Simmons while he flashes a hang loose sign with his hand. He's wearing his ball cap backwards and a couple days' worth of dark stubble covers his jaw. Dork face, I type. lol You love my face I do. No denying it. Cocky little punk. Little? Thought you knew what I was packing? Oh, the things I get myself into. Like I said...little. Do I need to send you another kind of pic, Tee? Because I will. Oh, God. Eew. Gross. :) Gotta run. Up next on the ramps. K. Fly high, Col. <3 Always do. xo "

OMG .. I almost broke my kindle ! Colton .. you are one the most infuriating, sexy, sweet men I have ever "read" !
Two best friends .. one problem .. a perfect solution on paper.
Colton and Taylor have been best friends since childhood. Their relationship has that easy banter that we all I believe yearn for. One is a hot shot Motor Cross racer the other a beautiful girl stuck in their small town with big dreams of something greater.
Taylor yearns to get out of her current situation, she has big dreams and is determined to one day achieve each and every one. Devoted is a word I would use to describe her. To her friends, family and those she loves. Colton is also determined .. he is hell bent on making a name for himself. To be the best of the best, however that comes with a cost .. one that will test him and ultimately Taylor.
Home is where the heart is they say .. and it's true for both of them. For different reasons and one important joint reason. The development of their relationship is natural but is filled with self doubt, passion and love .. always love.
When Colton makes a proposal to Taylor it is one that will change the course of the friendship. It is a risk, riskier than any trick he has performed.
What happens when you start to see the one person who has always been there for you in a different light? Will the other side of them that you never experienced be too much for you to handle or will it pull you deeper into the promise of a different reality?
Who's dream will become a reality and what happens when those aspirations change?
Read and find out how two friends face difficulties, challenges and a love like non other? Will the demands and selfishness of one be too much for the other
The book ends in a cliffhanger I must warn you and I am dying to find out where the author will take the couple that I have become invested in.

2 stars!
Honestly, I'm confused.
I liked the story, or at least the potential the story had? But that's it.
This story had no background whatsoever. It was like someone had pasted chapter summaries together into a book. No emotional link between the scenes and it was like on a fast forward mode, things randomly happening from one scene to another.
The little story that was there was the usual NA theme, asshole dude that left tiny town, tiny town girl that has dudes chasing her but they are only friends and yeah, friendship turns to love like that
but it needs more, probably two other books to make it solid.
I absolutely loved Fly, i also loved Colton Wade he is perfect BBF material.
Colton is a FMX rider, Colton has hit big time with his riding and modelling contracts but something is missing from his life and that is Taylor his best friend who still lives in his home town.
Taylor has put her life on hold to help her mother with her father, one night completely destroyed the father she knew and loved, this man is the total opposite of the loving father she knew.
One night changes the whole dynamics of their relationship, not to say they haven't tested the water and flirted with each other before this night but could they ever or want to go back to just friends?
Who could get in their way of happiness? ( this character had my blood boiling).
I loved the main characters and the secondary characters, plot was good and i inhaled it in two nights i couldn't stop reading, only downside is now waiting for book two, i have now discovered a new author, excellent start to a new series.

This is my first book set in the motocross business and I really enjoyed the atmosphere in and around it. I even wished that there would be more story set around the circuit.
I really liked the characters, especially Taylor. Her self-consciousness and down to earth character made her a very nice person. Colton had his cute moments too but sometimes he was a bit too over-protective for my taste.
The chemistry between the two was great and I really wish the book had been a bit longer to fully enjoy it. The ending is really mean though I am not so sure if I like this twist, usually I am not a big fan of those.
Still this book was a short but entertaining read with a gripping writing style and I am looking forward to read the second book in the series.
One of the best friends to lovers with a twist books I have read in a long time. Colton. Oh Colton! What I wouldn't do to have a best friend like you. And Taylor's take no crap attitude is awesome! She says what she thinks and stands up for herself. The emotional rollercoaster is a ride that I love and enjoy and thus one is beyond epic!
Okay first off, I couldn't put this book down and second, I was so enthralled in the story that it was like smacking into a wall when I hit the end, because I was completely clueless that it was a cliffhanger. Can't wait for book 2!!
I have to say this novel was super fun! I’ve been in a reading slump lately of books that were good but just missed that special spark and honestly this book brought fireworks! The main characters were fun and, even though had some real issues, tried really hard not to be brought down by them. Colton Wade is a motocross racer who is in for a big career bump. And the only person he can think to share the awesome news with is his best friend Taylor. She has been his rock that helped him weather through all of his storms and now he wants more. Taylor is a wily one who isn’t easily persuaded but this only proves to strengthen his resolve. Can he get Taylor to see how badly he wishes to call her his own? Or will his selfishness get in the way of everything they’ve already built? Taylor Jansen has always wanted what was best for her best friend Colton, so seeing him every few months isn’t that raw of a deal if he gets to live his dreams. But by looking out for everyone else in her life, Taylor loses sight of her own dreams. Big changes are coming her way and not just in terms of her back burner dreams but dreams she never thought to entertain. Can Colton convince Taylor to move their relationship to something that they have only secretly yearned for? Or will external forces conspire to keep them apart for good? This novel is part of a two-part series, that ends in a cliff hanger. It is told in first person points of view of Colton and Taylor. This blurb is so tiny but packs a punch! It gives just enough to be interesting but leaves out all the fun ups and downs of the story!! The cover is different than what I usually see in terms of color and title placement but that’s exactly why I love it so much! Ultimately, this novel has some hilarious scenes as well as heartfelt ones. The twist at the end I did not see coming and I cannot wait to see how all the characters are going to react to it!! All in all, if you are in the mood to read a friends to lovers romance that is fun loving with a side of angst then come check out how Colton can Fly!!!!
Another reader suggested that I read "Fly" by Molly McLain, and after reading the blurb I just knew that I had to meet Colton and Taylor. Who could look at this yummy cover and not want to take a peek inside? I started and finished Fly in one evening and am jonesing for the rest of their story in "Fight" that should be releasing this month. I can't wait to read the finale which I am sure will be just as heart wrenching and scorching as Fly. Colton and Taylor kept me flying high with emotion and tied in knots with my heart doing flips watching their story play out. They have adrenaline surging sexual tension, heart pounding heat, and sweet, endearing moments that melt you from the inside out. I am seriously addicted to Colt and Taylor!
Taylor or as Colt loves to call her...spitfire has spent her adult life sitting on the sidelines watching her best friend Colt's career soar while she gave up everything to help her family. When Colton makes a few unexpected trips home, surprising feelings emerge and Taylor is left with an urge to soar both in and out of Colton's arms. Can their relationship grow and evolve, or is their bond as fragile as the pages of a first edition Jane Austen book? I couldn't help but like this guilt ridden, obstinate heroine that thirsted for both her best friend and her freedom equally. She is a bookworm after my own heart that craves so much more than a stagnant life in her hometown and a protective best friend.
Colton Wade is equally in love with straddling and flying high on the back of a bike and his long time best friend Taylor. On a surprise trip back home to visit her, he finds that she is as beautiful as ever, restless, and has another man pursuing her. Can he hold on tight to her and his professional career or will he have to choose? Colt or “Country Boy” as they love to call him in the motorcross world is everything I could want from a troubled heartthrob who is living life in the fast lane while his heart still beats for someone back home. There is something about a man who gets to know a woman's heart intimately before he ever touches her body that makes me melt like butter and Colt with his smoldering looks and bad boy charm wasn't any different.
Molly Mclain delivers a couple that has our hearts in their clutches, squeezing with all their might. Taylor and Colt have steamrolled us emotionally and I can't wait to see them reach all of their dreams together in Fight...hopefully. I highly recommend the beginning of Taylor and Colt's story to keep a reader hot and bothered, feeling warm and fuzzy, and begging for what is next. Molly keeps us slightly off balance and holding on for dear life for more of Taylor and Colt! The Velocity series will soon have you cheering and leave you chanting “country boy” and thrumming with excitement!
Oh my goodness I love all of Molly McLain books, an this one is awesome. I'm not really into reading this kind of book, but not only the cover but the expert caught my attention. So thought I would give it a try. It's amazing, I guess you can say I'm hooked on these books now. . Thanks to Molly. .. I'm a very big fan of this author I feel in love with her books in the River bend Series an she hasn't disappointed me yet. This book is phenomenal, she kept me on my toes , love, love, love it. I'm going to tell you now this book ends in a cliffhanger, waiting patiently on next book.
Colton is looking for a way he can secure his future, he is amazing on his bike an if they would give him a chance he would be riding it. He just needs to stand up an say look at me, let's make this happen. Oh my god he is the new hot body, he's Mr. Motorcross.
Now Taylor she has been there for Colton, might as well say forever. She wants more not just professionally but personally. She has waited long enough. There is sexual chemistry is like a mix of gasoline and a match they are hot, one night is amazing but now Colton has to protect her from him., Now there is more there is a high school jealousy, tension hits a high oh wow
This is the first book I have read by Molly McLain and I completely fell head over heels in love with Colton. I mean who wouldn't, he's the american boy next door, except he's so much more than that. And then there's Taylor, the female best friend, the one that's always there to pick things up for him, that will do anything for him.
Fly really caught me off guard, I had no intentions of reading this book. But it kept showing up everywhere and let's face it, the cover is hot. So I decided to give it a shot and I am so glad I did. Fly is def the best read of 2016 so far. It really shook me out of the reading funk I have been in for the last six months. The energy between Taylor and Colton is hot and the drama has just begun and its so intense. You can't help but to keep going, page after page. The emotional roller coaster and excitement just wouldn't let me put this book down. It was so unique, the first FMX book I have read, I def wanted to knock the two main characters heads together and see if they'd realize what was in front of them lol I really enjoyed reading Fly and can't wait to see what Molly McLain has in store for us next.
Fly by Molly McLain was one of those books that completely surprised me. I was stuck, not able to find something new that kept my attention then I stumbled upon Fly. It had been sitting patiently waiting on my kindle for some time and all it took was for me to open and just after the first chapter I was hooked. I love the falling for the best friend story line. They are my all time favorites to read. Fly was just what I needed to kick my book slump. Sometimes you need a slow burn to keep you turning the pages and Fly was just that. A super sweet and fun book that kept me away for most of the day.
The story centers around a upcoming motocross star Colton and his best friend Taylor. They have never crossed that invisible line but lately have been thinking about it more and more. They struggle to deal with the distance and a conniving model that would love to come in between the pair. The story is mild on drama but wait till the end….. You will have a cliffy so beware, but the next installment shouldn't be too long of a wait. At least I hope not. I'm ready for part two like ASAP. I highly recommend this book.
