Though I held a claim over him, Dane Bax owned me. Possessed me. Call it whatever you wished, he had become my world. My lifeblood. Someone and something I couldn't exist without.

Ari cannot live without Dane. She lives him, breathes him, and aches for pleasures he gives her night after night. But not all is safe in Ari's world. When a group of vicious men hell-bent on ruining Dane shatters their bliss, Ari is left alone and bereft, save for her best friend Kyle, who has loved her since he first laid eyes on her.

Kyle knows that Ari's heart truly belongs to another, but he will still do everything he can to protect Ari...and hope that he can seduce her as he does. Kyle is loving, kind, desirable, and completely someone that Ari could fall for. Flash Burned is the second installment of the Burned Deep Trilogy and starts off where it last left off in the first book. In this installment, the love story of Ari and Dane continues. They are both highly aware that they are madly in love with each other. Their love was consuming, tangible, palpable, and intense. It was a love that could burn them. And in such, their love ignited a fiery passion but in the backdrops unexpected surprising plot twists that could destroy their love. As Ari's best friend, Kyle enters in the picture, will he be able to show Ari that they can love her like no other?

Calista Fox continues to spellbind her readers as she engrosses them in a fiery love story like no other. With her intense and passionate prose, Ms. Fox captures our hearts as she keep readers on the edge with a love that will set reader's hearts ablaze. All I can say is that I look forward to the final installment and what awaits Dane and Ari.

ARC received for review

Starts off right where book one finished and then ends with a cliffy. There was lots more hot bedroom scenes plus a bucket load of tears and the bad guys were still at it.

4**** stars from me

Flash Burned is the second installment of Burned Deep trilogy, the beginning of this part had really slow pace but later got really interesting and you certainly couldn't get bored. This part was really intensive, one shocking event after another ....it had huge surprises.

It had almost everything secrets, twists, hot steamy scenes and a wedding....the second part certainly raised the level higher i truly wonder what is going to happen in the third, if the second was intensive the next will probably blew our mind away. I definitely recommend it and can't wait to read the next one.

This book is the second book in the Burned trilogy. This continues the story of Ari and Dane. When a group of men try ruining Dane, Ari is left alone except for her close friend, Kyle. Her heart belongs to Dane but Kyle hopes to change that. This is a contemporary romance. I received this book from the Goodreads Giveaways for an honest review.

When I read Burned Deep, there was no indication that it was the first in a series. It wasn’t until I read the Epilogue that I even suspected that there was more to come for Dane and Ari. In fact, the author ended the book in such a way that left their story open for more, yet was complete enough to stand on its own. But when I saw the Goodreads listing for Flash Burned I KNEW that it was the next book in the series – again, it was not marked as such (at the time), but Ari and Dane’s presence made it clear to me that it was the sequel. It was both a relief and a bit bittersweet when I marked Flash Burned as “currently reading” on Goodreads today because I learned that it is indeed the second book in the trilogy. I was torn between “Yay! There’s another book coming.” and “Boo! There’s only one more book.” Upon finishing Flash Burned, I’m still not sure which way I’m leaning because this installment was an action-packed thrill-ride and as much as I want to find out how it all ends, I don’t want it to end.

Even though it’s only been four months since I read Burned Deep, in my world that’s well over a hundred books read since then. So I thought it best to reread the last couple of chapters in book one to refresh my memory of events and re-immerse myself in Ari and Dane’s world. This turned out to be a good thing because, oh my goodness, I forgot what Ari had endured at the hands of Dane’s enemies. It also made it so easy to be gripped by the panic and fear of her nightmare that the book opens with. Aside from Ari’s nightmares, the first part of Flash Burned is actually such a relief after what she and Dane endured in Burned Deep. The preparations for the opening of 10,000 Lux are going smoothly, with Ari’s return to her position as event planner and the end of the sabotage attempts by Dane’s enemies. Of course, Kyle is not happy that Ari has returned to Lux and Dane, but he believes it’s only a matter of time before Dane messes up and Ari will need Kyle’s support and friendship. Unfortunately for everyone, Kyle is called upon after tragedy strikes and rips Ari’s entire world apart … again.

Because Flash Burned and the Burned Deep series are firmly within the romantic suspense genre, I can’t say much more about the story itself (and I consulted the blurb to make sure I didn’t reveal anything that wasn’t already alluded to within it). I will say that Ari is once again taken on a rollercoaster ride of emotions with far too many hills to climb and drops to endure. Fox does a nice job of balancing out the happy times, the sad times, and the terrifying times, within the framework of the elements of suspense (vague enough for you?) that are hounding the couple. Dane continues to work on bringing the “rogue” members down via legal channels, but they prove once again that their reach is long and deadly. Although I don’t like Kyle’s frequent attempts to discourage Ari from Dane, I did appreciate the friendship he offers her. He more than proves his loyalty to her several times over the course of the book, and I really hope that he finds someone (not Ari) to make him happy because he deserves it. There is so much more going on in this installment that I just can’t talk about – and that ending! However, I loved Flash Burned and cannot wait to get my hands on the final installment in the Burned Deep trilogy.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Review Courtesy of Romance Junkies

Flash Burned is the next installment in Calista Fox's Burned Deep Trilogy. She continues this intense, passionate love triangle with the beautiful event plammer Ari, the sexy and powerful Dane who has Ari in all kinds of knots, and the designer who is in love with his best friend Kyle.

Dane is everything to her. She trembles for his addictive touch that leaves her breathless night after night. He is the drug she just can't quit. But the dangerous group of men are still after him, they are prepared to ruin everything he has to get him out of the picture. The aftermath of their attack leaves Ari alone and shattered, can she make things right with the help of her best friend Kyle?

Ari couldn't help when she fell in love with Dane. Just when she thinks her life couldn't get any better, everything falls apart. Ari is faced with having to be strong, to survive now that someone is counting on her.

Kyle has always been there for Ari no matter what, ever since the two met. Even though her heart belongs to another, he can't help but love her. Kyle is charming and desirable, any women would be happy to be at his side. He is someone that Ari could love and care for, but her heart is set on Dane and she won't give him up.

There is talk about this trilogy being the new Fifty Shades of Grey, to be totally honest I do own that book. However, I couldn't get past the first chapter of the book, so I have never finished reading it. Frankly, what I have heard about that particular book scares me. It's not something I would jump on to read. Do I think it is the next FSOG? No, since I was able to read past the first chapter. In fact, I found myself loving this Contemporary Romance book.

During certain parts, I did find myself on the edge of crying over all the things the character was going through. I am not going to state exactly what happened to avoid leaking spoilers, but I will say that there was a lot of twist and turns. At one point I would turn to my fiance and tell him about everything the author was doing to this poor character. I was more than happy to learn that not everything was as it seems.

My personal opinion Calista Fox's story is better then Fifty Shade of Grey. It had me hooked the whole time

It was a great honor that I got to read this book, I think that Ari and Dane are perfect for each other. Their characters fit perfectly, and I loved Kyle is was so charming and supportive to Ari. Secretly wondering what kind of relationship Ari and Kyle would have if she was in love with him instead.

Review:

This next installment takes off where the last one ended. Like the first book it is full of secrets, intrigue and action. Though to me this story has a more emotional quality to the story. The consuming love story between Dane and Ari is so emotional and explosive. I don't want to give away some important plot points, but there is major event and for most of the story I wanted to cry for Ari. This is a trilogy so there is a HEA for now but not a resolution to the continuing story. It looks as though the focus of the next book maybe Kyle from the epilogue.

Intriguing and engrossing story and characters that I cannot wait to see what happens next!

This story captivated me right from the beginning. The story continues as Ari and Dane try to have a relationship after her capture and torture by Vane. Dane is ready to launch his new resort 10000 Lux and with Ari by his side he is ready. Because of the capture they don't tell anyone except their very close friends about their relationship because Dane is afraid for her even with his bodyguard Amano tailing everywhere Ari is and even her best friend Kyle is afraid for her. But everything is coming together so one night Dane askes Ari to marry him and she says yes and Dane explains he wants to get married tomorrow, which Ari argues that they have too much work to do for the opening and that she wants to plan a fancy wedding. Dane convinces her to do it and they will still keep it secret and when all the danger blows over they will have the wedding she dreams of. They are married the next night with only a handful of people and they exchange bracelets instead of rings for now. In few weeks later its the opening of the Lux and they are excited then the lights blow out and a bomb blows up and Dane makes Kyle take her out of the building as he goes to help and she is knocked out by the blast and when she comes to she finds out her husband and his bodyguard are missing and presumed dead.
I made the mistake of stopping at this point to go to bed but I should have just stayed up because I thought about it all night. There is another book after this and I can't wait to see what happens next.

OMG!!!! I sooo love this series. The title for this book is amazing. I love how the author incorporates her titles with her storylines...simply amazing.
This is the second book in a teiology. I have to say that this book was as amazing as the dirst.
in this book Ari and Dane admitted that they cannot live with out each other and secretly get married. Ari figured out later that Dane was putting a plan in place jus incase anything happened to him. Its a good thing he did too. Because their hotel blew up and the world thought Dane died in it, including Ari. While she was teying to move on she found out a little auprise. Then a bigger suprise. Dane was alive and working to get the silent onvestors put away.
While Ari and Dane tey and move fowars Ari finds oht that a man she tought was dead was indeed alice.
I sooo cannot wait to read the final book. I want to know what happens to them and if Ari and Dane live happily. The suspense is killing me!!!!

I won this book as a giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
So I'll start by saying that this book took me a long time to read because I really savored it. No, it is not some deep, philosophical story that requires a lot of thought. But I thoroughly enjoyed the writing and did not want it to end. My only complaint with the book was that I don't think it was very realistic, assuming that it is entirely possible that there is a stunning man who is perfect in every way and basically a superhero, I just had a difficult time believing that he was absolutely flawless, and that the narrator was extremely brilliant and beautiful yet never second guessed her husband or what he does. That said, it's still fiction so I still really enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

First, I read this in one sitting.

Next, most of the time, when you have a trilogy or series, the subsequent books in the series pick-up the storyline using a supporting character(s) from the previous book. That does not happen, here. In this, the second book in the trilogy, the story carries on from where it left off at the end of book one. The central characters are still Dane & Ari, with supporting roles from Kyle (whom I do not trust of really like), Amano, Ari's dad, etc.

There are a couple of major things (plot devices) that happen that briefly derail the path to true happiness, but all is as well as it can be by the end of the book.

I'm looking forward to book #3, which does not come out until October 2016.

4 deeply invested stars. This is book two in the trilogy so it just continues Dane and Ari's love story. There's some seriously soul tearing in this book. It's emotional, intense, fast-paced and intriguing. The story swirls around Dane and Ari but snags on outside players and forces to have a complete picture. I have to say I was impressed and look forward to the conclusion of this couple's story.

So very good!

I love this series. It is a totally over the top billionaire story, but it is also steamy and passionate and full of intrigue. I get so caught up in it that I can hardly put it down. I was lucky enough to get an ARC of book three which comes out in a few days. I'm definitely starting it tonight!

The first book was five stars and this one was three. Plot was unbelievable and trite. It also reminded my of the Twilight Series.
