The Warrior's Bride

Everyone knows that red-haired women are nothing but trouble! So when enchanting, flame-haired Fiona MacDougal rides into his castle courtyard announcing that she is willing to become his bride, Caradoc of Wales knows to be wary -- even of such a beautiful Scottish lass bearing gifts. He has no desire to take himself a wife, but her kisses are so tempting that the idea of an intimate -- and permanent -- union becomes most appealing indeed.

The thought of marrying this bold, handsome warrior sends shivers of delight down Fiona's spine. She wants nothing more than to tell him the entire truth -- that in his strong embrace she is certain to be safe from the despicable blackguard who would marry her for his own selfish gain. Fiona loves Caradoc dearly, but can she ever win her passionate husband's trust -- or gain his love -- if he discovers the real reason she sought him out?

There is more than one author with this name

Award-winning author Margaret Moore actually began her career at the age of eight, when she and a friend concocted stories featuring a lovely, spirited damsel and a handsome, misunderstood thief nicknamed "The Red Sheik."
Unknowingly pursuing her destiny, Margaret graduated with distinction from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. During that time, she also became a Leading Wren with the Royal Canadian Naval Reserve, where she learned to use a variety of weapons and had the weepy experience of being tear-gassed.
In addition to being a wife and mother of two, she's also been an award-winning public speaker, synchronized swimmer, an archer, and studied fencing and ballroom dancing.

Margaret sold her first historical romance and the premiere book of her Warrior series, A WARRIOR'S HEART, to Harlequin Historicals® in 1991. Since that time, she's written over 25 historical romance novels and novellas. She has also written for Avon Books, as well as a young adult historical romance for HarperCollins Childrens Books. She now writes for Harlequin's new single title imprint, HQN.

Her books have been published in France, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Belgium, Switzerland, Brazil, Korea, Japan, Sweden, the Netherlands, Russia, Poland and India.

You will enjoy this book if you enjoy writing like this (a random passage from early in the book, chapter 4):

He could seduce her with his voice.

No, he didn't even have to speak. He didn't have to do anything at all except look at her, and she was like chaff in a strong breeze, helpless to resist the winds of desire sweeping through her.

Also, Ms Moore appears to have been contractually obligated to mention sheep shearing on every other page. Not sure what's up with that!

Briefest plot synopsis: Fiona travels to Wales and offers all her money (plus French wine!) to Lord Caradoc if he will marry her. He says "hell yeah! especially if we get to fuck like bunnies!" They get married, get busy, admit their powerful attraction to each other, have lots of (tepidly described) sex, and confess their love. Finally, 75% of the way in, the bad guy shows up. Hurt-comfort ensues, thus ensuring a HEA. So original.

And unfortunately for me, this book has two things that I really do not like: (1) a meddlesome busybody heroine who thinks she knows what's best for everyone, and (2) a deception followed by a break in trust followed immediately by a complete renewal of trust. I hate that. If someone has been deceived, that person has every right to whatever they are feeling; they have the right to recover at their own pace. I found it so distasteful when Fiona muscled her way into Caradoc's room and insisted he hear her, and then declared that she would leave if he would not trust her again. Oh no, honey - you screwed up. Now he gets to decide what happens next.

Tempt Me With Kisses ended up being a decent read, after a difficult start. For me, it was that the writing was odd and did not flow during the first half of the book (or so). Not as good as the first book-3-3.5 stars

DNF.

THE PLOT FELL SHORT THE MOMENT THE CHARACTERS MET, IT WASNT COMPELLING, THERE WAS NO DRAMA OR HIGHLIGHT AND EVERYTHING WAS JUST BLAND.

NOPE, NO CHEMISTRY THAT IS GOOD HERE.

This romance novel hit the spot with me. The characters were engaging and believable. The prose was elegant and very well done. My only criticism stems from the sheep shearing lessons. These passages were quite boring and held no relevance to the actual story, so I mostly skipped them.

Bleh. Unattractive couple romance. The nice guy gets a girl! Yay. I hope this isn't billed as historical. Also, characters are flat, two dimensional. The book is filled with fluffy, idiotic passages. Nice try. Not a complete waste of time though. I was mildly entertained by the insane plot.

When I first started to read this book I was still hung up on Conner from the first book. Didn't think I would like this book as well but I was wrong. Definitely a must read.
