This was another excellent book by George Stella. Same tasty recipes but this book included two options: The Fat Burner and the Calorie Burner along with sidebars for the Yield, Prep Time, Cook Time, Calories, Fat, and Carbs, Fiber, and Protein.

I saw this guy on the Dr. Oz Show one day and I was quite impressed. The author, George Stella, is a chef who used to weigh 467 pounds. He knew the weight was killing him, so he adopted a low-carb lifestyle and lost over 250 pounds. His whole family lost a combined total of over 560 pounds, just by changing the way they eat. This book has a lot of recipes that he developed in his quest to eat healthier. Some are familiar foods but have substitutions for the high-carb elements. For example, macaroni and cheese no longer has pasta, but has cauliflower as a substitution. One recipe title bothers me, and I realize this is just being nit-picky on my part, but breadless bread pudding is really just baked custard... if there is nothing to soak up the custard (ie bread or doughnuts) then it simply is not a bread pudding, but a baked custard. Anyway, I am hoping to try several of the recipes because they do sound terrific. I also have requests in at the library for some of his other cookbooks. I believe he has a new one out this month (February 2012).

refreshing to have a whole cookbook with no pasta recipes! going to make Mojo pork shoulder next week. Ken makes pernil (puerto rican style) and I think this can make it even better.

It is worth getting this book. A lot of great simple yummy dishes and no more soy flour recipes as there were in Livin Low Carb.
