Stephanie is a third-grade teacher who is surprised to inherit a castle from her grandfather. It is in a mysterious land called Tymberfeld, a name not on any map. After much searching, she visits this magical place to find out more about herself and her family. When she arrives, strange things begin to happen. She has entered a world that is in the midst of government turmoil, and Stephanie is unexpectedly involved. Meanwhile, young Christopher must protect his native land of Tymberfeld from an evil tyrant who threatens to destroy everything, including their way of life. It is time for a change, and Christopher must fight for his family, his home and an unsolicited crown that may be his destiny. With the aid of dragons, animals and magic, these two must bring their worlds together to keep the land of Tymberfeld alive.
I started writing poetry in 1st grade then began a "school newspaper" where I hand-wrote all the copies myself in 7th grade. I finally got around to writing stories when my children were young, finishing most of the stories years later. When my youngest child started school, I worked a bit harder to complete the stories and even write "A Story A Day" for when they came home from school. Tymberfeld was my third novel but the first one published. I am currently working on the second Tymberfeld book. I hope to have my other novels and short stories out there soon. I've learned a lot from this first book, mostly how important editing is, but also that there is a great need for more books that aren't full of bad morals, bad language and bad taste. Hopefully I can add to the positive reading experiences of readers young and old!
I have to say I LOVED it! It was fun, clean, sappy and enjoyable. It had a dragonheart feel to it at points, however it was unique all on it's own. A couple places were a bit wordsy but I think it was meant to slow the story just a moment before it sped on. I really liked it and fully recommend it to all. Of all ages. Very impressed with this author she's fairly new I'm hoping to boost her popularity. I hope my writing is good enough she does the Same. Yes I do know her and it only adds depth.
I gave this book 5 stars because I wrote it and I guess it wouldn't do much good to rate it lower than my closest fans... But I have to apologize for a few mistakes that are in it, some mine, some not. As a mom with teens, I hope this is the kind of story that will appeal to moms and teens alike, especially when it comes to content. This is a story that has good ideals, no swearing or other content that would make a mother cringe when she found out her child was reading it. Just good fun. Please let me know if you have read it and what you think ... especially since I am currently writing a sequel! And I promise the second one will be much better ...!
Thsi was a good story. It kept my interest and was easy to get into. An easy read. It seemed to be more of a fairytale. The love story seemed to be the biggest part of the story, with the action in the background until near the end. Things seemed to be a little easy for the characters. Even when bad things happened, they got through them pretty easy. If you like more love story, you'll like this book, if you like more action, it probably won't be your favorite. All in all, I liked it.
You are a talented writer Denise. I gave the book 3 stars only because I don't care for the fantasy genre that much. It was a well-writen book and those who like fantasy will enjoy the book.
