Andrea Laurence has been a lover of reading and writing stories since she learned to read at a young age. She always dreamed of seeing her work in print and is thrilled to finally be able to share her special blend of sensuality and dry, sarcastic humor with the world. A dedicated West Coast girl transplanted into the Deep South, she's working on her own "happily ever after" with her new husband and a golden retriever puppy.
Saying Yes to the Boss by Andrea Laurence kicks off the brand new multi-author series Dynasties: The Newports. Ms. Laurence has crafted a full out sexy story which took me as a reader on an entertaining journey where blazing passion, deep emotions, intense drama between flawed characters captivated me from beginning to end. The riveting chemistry between the gorgeous Carson Newport and his PR Georgia Adams kept me entranced as they worked hand in hand in the business arena while simmering below is that red-hot attraction. For me, Carson came off as cynical in the beginning but seeing him evolve made me start to like him. Meanwhile the character of Georgia—I love that name!—had me rooting for her from the very start. Her attitude, her overall outlook had been engaging and realistic. I really think readers would find this story entertaining because I sure did! The story had the Andrea Laurence stamp on it: broody hero, strong spunky heroine, intense drama, humor and that oh-so-sizzling passion.
(Real estate CEO) Carson Newport is determined to build a children's hospital to honor the single mother who'd raised him and his brothers. But when his (PR director) Georgia Adams finds the perfect place to build, she must convince a lecherous business rival Sutton Winchester to give up his bid for the land. Carson doesn't exactly like the idea of her getting close to the enemy, who offered her a 1 million dollar signing bonus if she’d become his mistress, especially as his own feelings for her are heating up during those long hours at the office! But will an explosive family secret prevent him from getting to know Georgia much, much better, like finding out Sutton is his absentee dad?
Hero is a little lacking and few parts don't add up, but good story overall
The beginning of the Newport series has many twists and turns. Once again a parents choice messes with their children’s minds, trust issues, afraid love does Not exist. Both Carson and Georgia almost lost out on their love and future due to the foster care system and a single mom that tried her best. Still much intrigue about the twins father exists.
Even in spite of their hard upbringing the Newports and also Georgia did well for themselves.
This was a great story and a great beginning to a series that I am going to love. Saying Yes to the Boss was one of those reads that I lost myself in. The storyline was very interesting and had me trying to guess what was going to happen to the Newport brothers. Not only that but I also wanted to know what was going to happen to Georgia and the person that had come into her life. There were going to up and downs in this new relationship but they needed to make sure that they heard each other or else assumptions were going to be made. But in the end the happily ever after that was supposed to happen happened but I know there is going to be more for not only for the Newport’s but also for the Winchester’s.
I totally recommend this read. I’m off to read the other books in this series.
Received ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an Honest Review
I fell in love with Carson and Georgia from the very beginning of this story. Andrea Laurence sure does know how to write a love story that will leave you longing for more from her characters. This is such a great read and just what I needed for a break from my other reads.
Carson is a very successful man that is looking for a way to honor his mother that has recently passes away. When Carson gets the idea to build a children's hospital in his mom's honor, finding the right spot just might be the hardest obstacle that is in his way, or is it? Carson has Georgia that helps him with several things and is in charge of finding the perfect piece of real estate for the hospital to go on.
When Georgia does eventually find what she things is the perfect spot for the hospital, there are others that want the land to build their dreams on as well. To what lengths will Georgia and Carson have to go to to actually be able to buy the land?
I have to say that I am so excited that this is a new series and that we will get more of the characters from this story. All of the characters are very well developed and you can connect with them immediately because they are dealing with everyday situations that we all have to go through.
As things progress with the land deal, so does the relationship between Carson and Georgia. There are some steamy scenes that will leave you fanning yourself with Georgia and Carson. Will anything come of their relationship or was it just a result of spending more time together while working on getting the perfect spot for the hospital? You have to read this one to find out how it all ends for Carson and Georgia. You will not be disappointed! Thanks Andrea Laurence for another great read!!
This is the first book about the Newport brothers, a self-made real estate company, becoming one of the dynasties in Newport. This book is about Carson, the youngest Newport and CEO of the company. He never felt like he belonged into his family and the feeling of not belonging he has in common with the company’s PR agent, Georgia, heroine of the story. She was a foster child, had never really had a family. She and Carson have a very strong mutual attraction towards each other and so ones in a while control slips and they kiss. Georgia, feeling that the company is her family, doesn’t want to tread the delicate road of dating with the boss, while Carson in his mind strongly objects to an office affair and on the other hand can’t stop thinking about her. At first I dove quickly into the story and after a couple of chapters and a thirty something pages I was bored. Nothing new (to me) was introduced, the story of a long lost father and a visiting mother I didn’t think it added much to the story. I thought after the thirty-ish pages, now that’s it, it’s the end. I had to wrestle myself through the rest of the story, but I didn’t like it that much. I got the feeling that the writer had some notes that had to be written into the story so the other writers of the series were prepared. I’ve read numerous books of Andrea Laurence and she always wrote her books so well (well documented, right amount of feeling etc) But I somehow missed it in this story and I really don’t like giving bad reviews. I’ve been putting it off for more than a week, but I had promised I would give an honest review. I am sorry I couldn’t be enthusiastic about the book.
Kicking off the new multi-author series Dynasties: The Newports, Andrea Laurence brings us the story of sexy Carson Newport! I enjoyed the building of the characters and storyline and can't wait to see what the future books in the series hold!
Successful real estate CEO Carson Newport wants to honor his mother by investing in a charity that was dear to her heart by building a children's hospital. They've been searching for the perfect piece of property for months now, and he's thrilled when his PR director tells him she's found it!
Georgia Adams is glad she got a tip on the property they needed, and sets out to help Carson make sure he can close the deal to get the hospital on it's way to being built. As they handle roadblocks going up around them, they stumble across family secrets, past indiscretions, and the possibility of big changes in the future. Will the distractions be enough to make them keep fighting the attraction they feel for each other, or will they add another dynamic to their boss/employee relationship?
Saying Yes To The Boss by Andrea Laurence. Book number 1 of "Dynasties: The Newports". I was a lucky winner in the Goodreads giveaway. My free copy arrived yesterday. The Newport Brothers are a force to be reckoned with. The three brothers own a self made real estate company. This book is about Carson Newport. He is determined to build a children's hospital to honor his single mother. Their PR director Georgia Adams finds the right piece of land to build it on. BUT....rival Sutton Winchester also wants the land. There are lots of twist and turns in this story. Mutual attraction between Carson and Georgia. Carson finds out the rival Sutton is his dad and dying. Also that he has three sisters. Georgia's mother, whom she has seen in years since she was put in foster homes since she was a child, call Georgia and visit. She says she has beat the habit of drugs, but she hasn't and steals. This book is a must read. Can't wait to read the rest of the series.
Georgia and Carson are the main characters. Georgia tells everyone they are involved at a cocktail party to celebrate the building of a new children's hospital and they decide after that to become involved. It was a great book and I would recommend to everyone. My only drawback was there was a father son relationship that was not touched on at all, I know it was the first part of a series so feel like that is why so much was left open since the rest of the series is being written by other authors. but after reading this one I want to read the rest of the series so I can find out more.

Georgia Adams had been working for Carson Newport as his PR person even though she had a fantasy about him and her. Life draws them together, but life seems to be pulling them a part. Georgia and Carson have so much in common and their ups and downs bring you along for the roller coaster ride into love, trust, and commitment. Another great sweet romance from Andrea Laurence. Received an ARC for an honest review.
Saying Yes to the Boss by Andrea Laurence was a good book to start off this series. I think I figured out the parental issues early, but it didn't distract from the story. I'm looking forward to reading about the rest of the clan.
This was a really interesting story about hardship. loss, wanting to belong and not feeling worthy of love. The interactions and chemistry between characters adds to this well written story line. Carson and Georgia have issues they both need to overcome as well as a growing love for one another. Very enjoyable read!
I liked Carson, and there were times I liked how he thought, “yes, but I’m the boss. When the boss says you can go home early, you can go home early.” Leaning in, Georgia pressed her lips to his..." I really liked Carson he was a sexy man I liked this book.
"Carson and Georgia find a sense of belonging in each other that begins with a friendly working relationship that shifts into full-blown passion" (4 stars @ RT Book Reviews).
Andrea writes such depth in her characters you feel as though they are friends you have known forever. Saying Yes to the Boss was a great read. It was fast paced and easy to read. Once I started I didn't want to put it down until I finished. This was a great start to the Newport series.
