Sweetest Sin

Rate this book
Forgive me, Father, I am flirting with temptation…
...And so are you.

The priest responsible for my salvation is the man leading me into temptation.

Or maybe I’m the one corrupting him?

Father Raphael St. Lucian shares my desire, but even he can’t fight our twisted thoughts and fantasies. He promises that we will be saved if we confront our lust and resist this dangerous attraction.

But an innocent kiss becomes a forbidden touch, and midnight secrets destroy us in beautiful blasphemy.

What happens when our faith is tested and my most honest confession threatens to break his sacred vow?

How long can we deny the sweetest sin?

Save me, Father, I no longer fear for my soul.

…I would risk my eternity to spend this lifetime with you.

Author Note: This novel is a forbidden romance involving a Catholic priest. Please be warned, the subject matter may be offensive to some readers as it does blend explicit, romantic scenes with many elements of religion and faith.

Hmmm so I didn't think I would like reading about something like this but I did. I Enjoyed this. This was very Hot especially in the first half. It had some tiny boring moments but not enough for me to skim. It did have some repetitive lines and alot virtue , his demons, forgiveness, absolution, sins etc..talk but that is to be expected . He is a priest. Hero did push away for most of the book but was it really pushing away? I'll tell you this his pushing away was damn sexy most of the time. Lol .I wouldn't say herione was chasing him either. She simply tried to understand and do the right thing. Now when she finally realized why he does what he does (even though he didn't even really know himself) she really stood up and told him exactly how it was. Ididn't really feel like the hero was blaming her for what was going on. He kept telling her yes to pray for her sins ask for forgiveness but at the same time he said it was his fault . Both hero and heroine are broken souls who need each other to heal!
Epilogue was not enough for me. It was a bit rushed and I wanted more. No doubt they will be togther forever but I'm selfish I need more.

Now the second half I understood him more, knew why he supposedly had them "test" their faith , pushed her to her limits, pushed himself and why he became a priest. I have to tell you it was heartbreaking :( My poor tormented priest!

I don't think this is for everyone. There are some parts that might be very disrespectful and offensive to the Catholic church. For me I'm not very religious so it didn't bother me much.

Safety:
Both virgins. It is never truly said hero is one but he is:)
No OW/OM drama
is just all about them.
There is mention of sexual abuse.
There is pushing away from the hero but in this story it makes sense. Did it get me a bit mad at times yes but like I said the sexyness made up for most:)
Herione I didn't feel like she chased him.
Hero is 30 herione 22

WOWZA! Holy forbidden! AND I loved it

Well maybe but I really don't care. You haven't met Father Rafe.

I can't imagine someone who is very religious or Catholic, specifically, not freaking out over this. I have to say that I don't know anything about that religion, well except the obvious here. Father Rafe would make me sin too! Hmmm, I wonder if that's why I've never seen a young hot priest! The confessionals were so hot! Things that never should occur in church did. Sexual tension galore. And my visuals of just bad bad things done in church.

I kind of understood why he decided to join priesthood and I can't help but wonder how many times something similar has occurred. I can't imagine a lifetime of boners, not that I know it feels but let's face it girls, we aren't stupid to the knowledge of a males body and reactions. Even a priest can't control that and I had to wonder if maybe a cassock really is one reason to be worn... to conceal that.

Once the festivities began it was on! There is a very good story here and I was happy to be told about his background. To me, love is love and I see no reason it should be denied to anyone.

OK first off I am going to say not in a million years did I think I would read something like this. Whenever you get into a "taboo" kinda book (for me anyway) it turns out to be so f'ing dumb. Most of the times (I seem to always find anyway) it has no meaning, full of erotica with really no plot, doesn't make sense, and unrealistic etc. I can safely say that I REALLY enjoyed Sweetest Sin by author Sosie Frost. I really liked Sosies writing. I liked the story was realistic.

We see two people who have been dealt with horrible, heartbreaking, and unforgivable pasts trying to do the best they can to live their lives. Honor (heroine) and Father Raphael (hero) have a forbidden attraction to each other, which they both try to fight. As they spend more and more time together they both find it harder and harder to deny the attraction (which was so HOT). They also find solace in one another and find ways to work out their past.

Honor - College student. Came home to help her mother. Her mother is a recovering pain pill addict. Shes not a slut or stipper or dresses provocative to get his attention, just a normal person who comes home and finds the new priest very attractive. Yes she feels guilty.

Father Raphael - Priest of the church for 5 years. I believe he is a virgin (I believe that is how i read it). His reasons for becoming a priest (to me) was very believable. He wasn't a recovering man whore or anything that would make this cheesy. He is attracted to Honor. He is feeling guilty too. Even more so than Honor.

It was overall a touching story and so glad I decided to read it.

Ehhhh... not the kind of angst I'm looking for in this kind of romance. It didn't actively offend me but neither did it have me asking questions or re-examining my beliefs like others have.

3 stars
2.5 on the spice scale

MY BOOK RATING: 4.5 STARS This author is very talented. This book will offend some because of the subject matter AND because there is lots of sins committed in this book. However, this book also made me think. You can't go wrong, when a book makes you think before, during and after you've finished reading it.

What a difference a book makes - this one was too slow and I gave up at chapter 10. I love taboo the more taboo the better. That untouchable, illicit relationship that burns...........well this one didn't Father Raphael was one of the most boring (and hypocritical) characters ) I have met in an illicit story and I just could nto go on for another 15 chapters. He put me to sleep!

5+ Sinful Stars!

One of the best book i had ever read. Resisting temptation? Honor tried but failed as she found herself aching for Father Rafe more and more..
Father Rafe? Broken soul and was emotionally scarred, he was hiding himself until Honor.

Literally every page left me hot and bothered! Sexual tension started since page one. Highly recommended to all forbidden/taboo reads lovers BUT sensitive topics inside (religious symbolism)

4 my angel stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I enjoyed this book. It starts off smoken hot!!
It starts off with Honor getting herself off in the confession booth. Woah Mama!
 photo image_zpstkqdijvp.jpeg

Then it went kind of slow and I was kind of bored but after about the 5th or 6th chapter, I was glued once again.
Raphael is the hot priest

Who's tempted by one of his church members Honor

 photo image_zpsgvtsipib.jpeg

The chemistry is hot and complicated. They both keep trying to do the right thing but their pull they have with one another won't allow them to walk away.
 photo image_zpswcdoodo6.jpeg

Raphael is completely torn. He had a horrible past that sent him on the path to become a priest. He's devoted to his faith and loves being a priest but he doesn't understand why he has this strong love for Honor and why he can't leave her alone.
 photo image_zpstmvnusuh.jpeg

Their sex was delicious!! But I felt bad for Honor, anytime they sinned Raphael put it all on Honor. Like she was the only sinner and he was the guy to fight off her temptation. Made no sense and he kind of pissed me off.
 photo image_zpstjna21mm.jpeg

Anyhoo it was good and I was hooked and I definitely couldn't stop reading.

Just by glancing the cover, you ain't gonna be able to convince yourself that your about to read anything else but porn.

Essentially this book is 300+ pages of foreplay and genital teasing which by itself is enticing enough.

I struggled between giving this book a rating of either one star or five stars. But judging this as a serious literal work is intelectually dishonest. It's porn.

But was it good porn?

Eaummmh. Yes and no. The porn bits were hot. Subject matter was tantalizing. Nothing quite tastes or feels as exciting as something forbidden.

However hot the sex or rather, the tease of sex, was, it was majorly dampened by few things.

The book starts right off the bat with a sex scene. It completely skips the part of them meeting for the first time and the attraction that starts to build till it reaches the boiling point. To me, as an erotica and romance consumer, the building up to the climax is just as important, if not even more so, than the climax itself.

The priest kept calling the female protagonist his angel.
A) I'm not Catholic but I doubt that's a pet name any priest would use for obvious reasons
B) Calling someone by a pet name you nanna uses, is just creepy and wrong. You call a child an angel, not another adult.

A minor detail, but something that broke my suspension of disbelief was that the priest had a copy of Harry Potter in his office. I don't know if it was meant as a joke, but for a book that aims for "heartbreaking drama". Just no.

The names of the main protagonists. Raphael and Honor. Only thing more on the nose would have been Adam and Eve. Had this been only a silly romp, I think I could have given that a pass, but this book tried too hard to have a knitted brow about its story.

I think there was plenty enough conflict having the male protagonist be a Catholic priest and the girl be a college student. The tragic backgrounds of the characters was wholly unnecessary.

Having them mull in the misery of their personal lives while trying to seek some sort of comfort from sexual encounters, just felt tacky and unsexy.

If this was Wuthering Heighs were Heatcliff defiles Cathy's dead body in a wreched profession of denied love, the shock and taboo effects would've worked.

But this was porn. It's a bit ambitious to try to incorporate those kinds of studies of the brokenness of the human psyche into Harlequinesque foreplay.

Had this book been more light hearted, I would have given this 5 stars. Came for the sex and the sex was indeed good.

Read for the sex, God forbid, not for the story.

You ever read something and felt dirty the whole time? Hoping that while you're reading no one peaks over your shoulder to see? That's how I felt reading Sweetest Sin. I've never read anything like it. It's like the top taboo of taboos, but I loved it!! And I'm not sorry, AT ALL! It's just something about participating in something taboo that makes you want to indulge in it even more. I devoured every word!! Sosie Frost evoked so much emotion that you become one with the character. I felt more like I was experiencing than reading. Honor and Raphael's story was one of forbidden temptation and their struggle to resist. But, there was also a deeper story hidden beneath. Raphael and Honor also fought with their own internal individual struggles. Frost truly captured the angst of their struggles, you could feel their pain and suffering and my heart went out to both of them. This book isn't for everyone. It's for the people who are able to enjoy the story for what it is, fiction and some great fiction at that! If you're not able to differentiate fiction from reality, this isn't for you. My first book by Frost, but DEFINITELY NOT my last! I have to get a taste of what else she has to offer! I received an arc in exchange for an honest review.

While this wasn't the worst book I have ever read, it wasn't good. I've seen a few other books out there with a similar taboo storyline about a priest, but a lot of them got really bad reviews. I decided to read this one based on all the rave reviews that stated it was not an insta-love story and actually had some depth. Well, that just wasn't the case. These characters literally talk about NOTHING but wanting to have sex with each other. The entire book is basically the same scene over and over and over again....she goes to him asking for forgiveness for wanting him, he tells her they must resist, and then they cave in and engage in some sort of sexual activity. Seriously, same exact scene recycled in every chapter. Also, their dialogue in general really grated on my nerves. He called her some version of his "sweet angel", "pure angel", precious angel" on every page. There was also over repetition about how he hardened, she wetted, and he wanted to rut. Over and over and over. This book was extremely erotic, so if you are okay with forfeiting a plot in favor of just reading about them getting it on, you will enjoy it. If you want character development and an actual story, I wouldn't recommend.

Ok ...soo....ummm...well......ahhh.....

I have no idea what to say about this book.

Don't get be wrong it wasn't Bad not at ALL!! It was just different and maybe a little bit uncomfortable to read at times.

I suppose it was my temptation to read this and now I have to deal with the consequences of that decision. But this author writes a good story and clearly has some crazy talent! There was nothing you'd expect about this story it was truly SINFUL.

I guess the same reason I read this is the same reason I'm so at a loss for words. I honestly don't know how to rate it!! I think I was in a state of utter shock at the scenes the author depicted this story unfolding in. I don't think I had expected this and I'm at a loss for what to say.

But my personal astonishment aside the characters were pretty good the steamy factor was off the Damn charts !! And the story was well done soon ill get back with a rating cuz I don't know what else to say.

Is it really forbidden, if it's right? Is it a sin if it's just temptation?

Honor is a good honest girl of virtue who is trying hard to make it work when her mum has had a difficult past,So when she turns to the church for sanctuary is it wrong to lust after a man who is all sinful, the priest Father Raphael (Rafe)?

When Honor confess her sins to Father Rafe he tries to absolve her of them and her her fight for those feelings, because he feels them too.

Can they both fight the attraction that is believed too be oh so wrong, but feels so right. Will Father Rafe question his calling so can he "Honour" his true feelings.

This is a very well written book, although I'm not a religious person I could imagine some people might be offended by this hot sinful book. I received this book in return from honest opinion and I'd urge you to read and then repent for your sins.

I haven't read this type of a book before, so I was curious to see what I would feel like. But...ugh... I dunno. I just couldn't read it. I only read the one chapter, but that too while feeling dragged to do it. So I just didn't go through with it only to end up giving a bad review. This type is just not for me. All the "forbidden" and "sin" talk was just irritating to me...:-(

God forbid you read this for the story. This is a book you read for the juicy parts. Nothing is as exciting as the forbidden, am I right? With this cover and the title, you know exactly what to expect.

I love a good priest smut. Ever since I read Lessons in Sin by Pam Godwin I have been looking for my new favorite priest story. In my disappointment, nothing has come close to that one.

Where to begin?? I have read some cracking books from some extremely talented authors. Let me just say that this story had me in a Raphael and Honor trance from the very first word to the very last. I realise this book is not for everyone and the content some may find distressing. I do not. This is fiction, and while I can respect others views and beliefs, I expect the same in return. There are so many warnings about this book that the author has advised, so I believe those who read it will take it for what it was meant to be. A totally gripping, taboo, forbidden tale of a love that was not meant to be. A priest and a parishioner. These 2 have ingrained themselves into my thoughts for the entire time I read their tale. This book captivated me from the very beginning. When I was reading, I wanted time to slow. When I was not reading, my thoughts were hijacked by Rafe and Honor so ultimately, that I thought of nothing else until I could pick up where I left off, therefore wanting time to speed up, so I could once again be with them . I could feel the forbiddenness, the fear of confessing their sins, the fear of damnation like it was a living, breathing object I could hold in my hands. So powerful was their struggles. The sexual tension had a pulse, beating so loudly, that I was convinced I was right there with them, feeling and experiencing every tiny bit of emotion they did. The way the author penned this story just spoke to my very soul. I was to remain utterly and hopelessly devoted to Sosie Forst, until I reached the stunning conclusion. Everything I am has succumbed to this book. To say I loved this book has to be the understatement of the century. I cannot praise Sosie enough, and would recommend this book, and any of hers, in a heartbeat.

I devoured this book and felt sinful the entire time. It was incredible.

“I would risk my faith, my vocation, my very soul because I can’t spend ten minutes apart from you.”

I have to admit that ever since watching Fleabag, I’ve had a thing for priests. I grew up Catholic, but then went to a Protestant church during my teenage years. Now I’m not religious at all, so I can read priest porn without feeling much guilt about it. But the real reason why I read this deliciously sinful book is because I found a Tiktok of someone’s unfinished manuscript where they quoted a smutty scene with a priest and a woman. I immediately rushed to search up priest romance novels, and I was lucky to stumble onto this one.

Sweetest Sin follows Father Raphael. He’s a thirty-year old man who is dedicated to his church and well loved by his community. Honor is on her senior year of college, and she just moved back home to help out her mom who recently got out of jail and gave up her addictions. The book starts off with Honor’s confession, telling Father Raphael that they need to distance themselves from each other to avoid falling into temptation. I was hooked from that very moment.

This book is written so well. Every sentence is there for a reason. It lands with a punch. The dialogue was exquisite, to the point that I had to reread most of it more than once. The writing is flowery and metaphorical in the best way. I was so engaged in this forbidden love story that I managed to finish the book in one day, which doesn’t happen often with me.

Father Raphael and Honor have so much chemistry. It was flying off the pages. Every interaction they had was so full of angst over them not being able to be together. They hated themselves for their sinful thoughts, but kept getting closer and closer anyway. It was definitely a slow burn, but so well done. I just found this book impossible to put down. I think blending religion and sexuality makes for fantastic stories, and this was no exception.

I am already in search for other priest romance books. But I feel like no other will live up to this one. The only thing I don’t like about this book is the cheesy book cover. Other than that, it was perfect. Give it a read if you’re not afraid of a bit of sacrilege.

Well-written with a mixture of forbidden desires, angst, turmoil, heartache, sizzling-hot chemistry, and gut-wrenching emotion. Sweetest Sin is a beautiful, unforgettable love story that is intense, painful, and very much alive! If you like stories that are taboo, sexy, dark, and heartfelt, where you can't wait to see where the story takes you, this is the book for you. Once you start reading, you'll be so engrossed in the story that you will lose tack of time.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This author can write! Probably one of the best writers in romance IMHO. Seriously. With that said, you can be an excellent writer of a not so good story. I wasn't a fan of Boyfrenemy, also written by Sosie Frost, but I still thought her writing was on point. Reading Sweetest Sin solidifies my opinion that she's an amazing writer. The dialogue between the characters and the flow of the story is also very well done in this book. I am not Catholic, so I wasn't offended in the least with the turn of events in this steamy novel. It is a page turner. Rafe and Honor are sizzling and the love scenes ..wow! Amazingly hot. The torment that Rafe has regarding his feelings as a man vs being a priest are pretty compelling. I read this book literally in one day. So very good. Not for everyone though, I get it. But this is truly a hot forbidden romance. I really enjoyed it.

This is so fetishizing and racist wtf:

“Honor’s beauty was not simply found in the sable richness of her skin, though I imagined she was as lovely as Solomon’s dark Shulamite woman.”

“She saw Dad in the mocha shade of my skin, the dramatic arch of my eyebrows, and our shared, silly smile.”

“She accidentally shivered, a shock of pleasure that stole her breath. The cake crumbled and fell upon own chocolate skin.”

“The lovely sable brown of her skin contrasted with the ivory of my sheets, I hardened again.”

“I stared at him, memorizing the angle of his jaw, the strike of the candlelight in his hair, the pale loveliness of his skin that contrasted more with my color than the blackness of his robe.”

🤢🤢🤢

I looked up the author’s twitter and website and they don’t have a pic, but I’m positive that they are white.

This book had great potential to explore so many issues but the author uses sex to bypass further exploration. The most touching parts of this story were Honor's honest feelings about her mother and living with an addict for 16 years and Rafe's childhood abuse. The sexual aspects of the story should have been secondary. If you want an in depth story that deals with priest and finding love highly recommend "Forgive Me Father For I Have Sinned" by Tiana Laveen. Overall, this is a book full of potential and this is the one time where I would say the author would really benefit this story by creating a part 2. My rating for this story is a 3.5

A woman of class, grace, and absolute sensuality who wanted nothing more than for me to take her again and again until I seeded her with my child.

I would have liked this book a lot better if it weren't for the dirty talk... This was just lit bit too nasty for me... It was borderline creepy...
I think every half page there was a mention about his "seed" and about her "swelling with his child".
Plus this chick kept calling herself "cocoa darkness"... That's weird right? It doesn't sound like something people would be referring themselves inside their minds...
