The name is Sarah. I'm a lifelong book lover and a die-hard fan of romance :) When I was in high-school I graduated from reading YA novels to my very first Romance novel. I'll never forget what it was. No Compromise by the legendary Rochelle Alers. In 2008 discovered K-pop while on a youtube "related videos" binge lol and I fell in love with both the music and the language, and wanted to learn as much as I could about them. Fast forward to college and I began reading much more interracial romance, and I noticed a lack of fiction including AMBW couples. So while listening to my favorite BigBang song I began my first novel, "Unexpected".
This is the third installment in the Saranghaeyo Series. Each book in the series is about a member of a K-Pop band. MISSING YOU highlights the youngest member of the band, whose name is Young and an African American woman, Sam.
There is a HUGE jump in the number of pages. The premise also has a twist, younger man-older woman. The story starts out with their “one-night-stand” after the wedding reception of Noel and Kai, the hero and heroine of the first book in the series. Nice. An unusual beginning which gave you some character information if you read the first book. If the author had stopped here with the fanservice, it would have served the story better.
First quip, the word count is too large for this story. There is a lot of plot contrivances and fanservice that weigh the story down. It becomes a little difficult to read through. There is a lot of fat in this story that needs to be cut.
Next quip, the love scenes. Exciting at the beginning, kinda boring towards the end. If you are making the reader drudge through a slow manuscript, you need to have ALLL of the love scenes be spicy. There were love scenes, that’s all I can say about the middle to the end of the book.
My last quip is the resurgence of typos and bad grammar. This really does take the reader out of the story. Unfortunate. With such a racy beginning between an older woman and younger man, I wanted to like the story more. It fizzled for me by the end
Sam is frustrating. I am not sure why she was fighting her feelings for Young so hard. Then she kept hurting his feelings for no damn good reason. Lucky for her, he kept pursuing her until her guard went down finally and they were able to enjoy their feelings for one another. I mean, I don't know why he thought she was so worth it, but he's only 20..actually because he's only 20, he should have bounced lol But hey, this is a romance novel. Anyway, I think Young is actually quite mature for his age and I think it's funny that being the youngest of the group, he still had more experience in the bedroom than poor G.K. haha Decent read and romance with some twists, but ultimately, we have a HEA. Looking forward to reading Kwan's story in Book #4.
2.0⭐️This is Young and Samara’s (Sam) story. It’s an age gap trope. He’s 20 and she’s 25. Sam’s attracted to Young, but she feels he’s just a kid. Young has no such qualms about Sam’s age or further acting on their mutual attraction. I like it when he becomes firmer when making his likes and dislikes known to Sam—it’s a bit of Alpha thrown in. The story drags a bit, but it is entertaining. I love the couple, and I love this series. What I do not like is some of the most atrocious errors imaginable throughout the book. The proofreading appears to have been nonexistent. I am still extremely disappointed—so much potential wasted all because of a poorly edited story.
I didn’t enjoy this pairing of Young and Sam. Even from their introduction in the previous book in the series she treated him like a kid. That continued on and escalated to the point that I never saw them as a couple. I didn’t like Sam’s character and Young was written as an immature child who had tantrum after tantrum. Not sure I will continue with this series.
Okay, can we have a minute to appreciate Sam and Young relationship... Young being resilient and determine and Sam focus and practical. I just adore these two.
Warm inviting and quite possibly real. This could happen. The relationship was loving but not always great. There were misunderstandings but real love based on friendship and common ground.
third story was as good as first two. i hated victoria and paul at first read. loved the comeuppances they received. hope we get a boom and jinyung story. also let's hook kwan up!!!!!
You know every time I get a glimpse of these characters it is always something new and its fresh. This was such a really good story and it was fun and sexy all at the same time. The chemistry between Young and Samara is so hot and sexy you just almost can imagine some of the scenes.I also like how the writer gives a hero who not only proves he is the alpha but also just a man in love and with feelings. This was really a good addition to a good series and I so look forward to the next installment, just don't wait so long.
I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!!! I truly hope Boom's story is next!!! I'm of the firm opinion, when people show you who they are, Believe Them! Victoria showed Sam who she was, so she should have been a little more vigilant...I Adore that Young knew what he wanted and went after it...What got on my nerves was Sam, she was unnecessarily mean to young, and the man who treated her bad she didn't unleash on....NOT UNDERSTANDING THAT!
I would recommended this book some time realistic problems these idol and their girlfriend's have. This made me wonder if things like this happens in real life with idols and those who love them.
Sarah G has quickly become one of my favorite AMBW writers. I wait for each published book of The Saranghaeyo Series with bated breath. Amazing Book, excellent read, beautiful love story, AMBW, KPOP, Yes, yes, yes! Write faster! Give me more!
