Adventure awaits! After reading Trixter's story I absolutely needed to know what happens next - and while reading "Hero" I got some glimpses into it that only heightened my curiosity. So I pre-ordered this one, started reading right away when it downloaded on my kindle and the story sucked me right in again. Trix is pure sugar, his character so very loveable, and his golden companion absolutely awesome with her dry humor and her childlike innocent delight in adventure and new things. Their quest kept me enthralled but what makes the book special is the loving and creative way Alethea Kontis draws her world and the inhabitants in it. The brownie, so bitingly funny. The leprechaun, so quirky and dubious. But my fave is the fawn, daughter of the Great Stag. I absolutely fell in love with the little one! The scenes in the courtroom was amazing, so funny, so special, so cool! And of course now I wait patiently (ha!) for the next episode, this one was so so good!

Just as Trix and Lizinia have set out on their journey to find Trix’s father, the King of the Eagles, Trix receives a vision from the Faerie Queen begging him to come to her aid. The dragon that his sister Saturday awoke in Hero is causing chaos and his Aunt Sorrow has bound the fey magic for her evil purposes. Trix, the Boy Who Talks to Animals, must now speak for the animals and free the magic before the world is destroyed.
Trix and the Faerie Queen, by Alethea Kontis, is just as awesome as the previous book, Trixter. I love these two of all the Books of Arriland most of all because they are so full of light and laughter, as opposed to the creepy dark magic in a few of the others. I also love how all the books tie together so perfectly. Several of them overlap in time, but the stories work together so seamlessly, each having its own plot but working towards a common goal, with characters jumping between books.
I absolutely adore Trix and his adventures! His mischievousness and cheeky personality made him one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. And Lizinia is wonderful as well! She is so sweet and pure that she is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside, all covered in gold. Trix’s sisters, Trebald, the Leprechaun, and the various other characters added color and life to the plot.
Another thing I liked about this book is the presence of Trix’s sisters. Having read the other books in the story-world, I fell in love with the Woodcutter family. So I was happy to see some of his sister’s show up in this book. In addition to just plain being fun to read, the relationship between him and his family was neat to see. Even when the girls were not there, Trix still thought about them and missed them. It was a reminder of how wonderful families can be, adding a pleasant touch of hominess.
Trix and the Faerie Queen was fantastic! I cannot wait to read the next installment of the series and recommend it to readers who enjoy YA, fairytales, and fantasy.

Ugh I wish there were more of these!!! I have officially read the entire Books of Arilland Series thats been published. I know the whole back story about not having the rights so Alethea Kontis cant re release or publish anymore in a financially meaningful way, but as a reader I am still bummed. What is going to happen to Lavinia!!! LOL Currently moving on to The Truth About Cats and Wolves, hope its just as good!!

I'm embarrassed by how long it took me to finish this book! I started it years ago and for some reason didn't finish until today. The story continues the overarching plot of the woodcutter family but it follows Trix rather than one of the days of the week sisters. I.will probably finish the series since I'm curious enough to find out what happens.

It was okay
that is about it. Maybe if I had remembered more of the previous books I could say more. The ending did make me a bit upset. This poor family just can never catch a break. Six books is too long to wait for a happy ending. I will not be adding any other books in this series to my want-to-read list.
I still love Alethea Kontis and will continue to support!

Yess! Another Trix book! I love him and Lizinia! They are the ultimate power couple! And the guest characters in it are awesome! It’s an awesome sequel!

I do love this world and it's hard to read knowing there will be no closure for the series. Especially after the ending here... really enjoyed this one.

Entertaining and well-written. I received a copy of this book for consideration during awards nomination season for 2016 and previously knew nothing of this series. I found the cover attractive and intriguing, but wouldn't have guessed the lighthearted nature of the novel based on this or previous covers I saw in the series. It was evident by the story that I was coming late to the series, but the author did a nice job of neatly introducing the characters and backgrounds organically and I never felt I was missing anything essential to reading this as a standalone. The story is charming and, though I rarely read MG or YA, seems a lovely fairy adventure for younger readers (and even gave me a couple of laugh out loud moments). I would highly recommend the Audible version, beautifully narrated by Alastair Cameron.

Alethea does it again. I absolutely could not put this book down. I love the Woodcutter family and cannot wait for a new edition to their stories to be released. Trix and his companions have a delightful story. There is so much great material that I truly feel the story continuing in their world without me and it sometimes breaks my heart that I am not there with them. I have never been someone who reads fan fiction, but when a world is so richly created I can understand how one's imagination continues to create stories there. I am drawn into the Woodcutter family's world often in my dreams because I have been so thoroughly transported there with every book in the series. If you love fantasy, you simply must read this series!!

If you like fairy tales, this is the stuff. Woodcutter sisters spinoff books stray from the theme set by the previous mentioned sisters books only slightly, less reworking of old material and a little more original, without losing that flavour. Feels like a fairy story mixed with a whodunnit and some action adventure even a bloke like me can read happily. It is seriously good fun.
Writing is tight as always, situations unfolded and neatly sewn up with little to no glaring coincidences. Good fun well rounded out characters with new added.
Top fun stuff. Give it a go.

The second book in Kontis' Trixter series finds Trix and his friends on another magical quest, but at least this time they run into a few of his sisters to liven things up. Like its predecessor, this one felt a little bit underbaked--I just wanted things to be a little deeper. I mean, it's all fun and exciting, but there's not a lot beyond that. I'm not emotionally invested in these characters, at all. But it /is/ pretty fun and exciting, so there's that. B/B+.

This book was worth the wait. Just like the next one will be. Trix is such a well developed character. You see him for who he really is and that makes him all the more charming. The story had a wonderful adventure and pace. However, what made this story amazing was all the little details. It was the little moments that show more about a character or where we learn a back story. It was a great read but even better a nice puzzle piece into the larger story.

Trix and the Faerie Queen picks up after the events of Trixter. Trix has a vision of the Faerie Queen, who begs him to help her. So Trix and Lizinia are off to save the Realm, with a little help along the way.
This is a great addition to a wonderful series, although I wish the author would HURRY UP AND WRITE THURSDAY'S STORY!

Just as good as the first one

Trix the Woodcutter and his golden friend Lizziana are embarking on a mission to save the Faerie Queen. Along the way, Trix encounters a many magical creatures and some lost family.
This book was definitely well written and Kontis has a way with words that made the story engaging. However, I was given this book and didn't realize that it was part of a series. I was very lost. I finished the book but I honestly am not sure what happened. My rating is based entirely on the writing most importantly the character development and world building. I think a lot of fantasy readers will enjoy this but you really need to start with the first book.

A fae, a girl made of gold, queens, witches, and even Dragons and a lot adventure are in this story. I definitely enjoyed it. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

This was the first book in this series that I've read, but it won't be the last. I loved the characters and the bits of fairy tales woven into the plot, but in a totally unique way. The story was compelling and I was disappointed when the story ended and now have to wait for the next book, but that's a sign of a great story.
