Refreshing

this was a very good story it wasn't too complicated where you got lost and trying to figure things out it wasn't easy read.it was an enjoyable read and you can relate to the characters with ease and clarity and the author did a good job of bringing you into the character's life so you could see what was going on through their eyes. Like my title stated it was a refreshing story

Abandoned @ 11%. Verb conjugation issues. Lots of telling. No emotional development. No sexual chemistry. Low sizzle sex. Blurb stated that the story was a long haul. Couldn't get into the MCs enough to hang in there.

In my search for a m/m romance novel featuring two African-American men, I found a gem in John B.'s "Halftime." I enjoyed following the story of their romance, their challenges, and ultimately an HEA. John B.'s story also helps to dispel the belief that all relatives of persons who are African-American and LGBT are homophobic. Loving yourself, communication and owning who you are were key parts of what brought Shai and Devontae together. A feel-good story I am happy to have in my collection. I would love to read more of this author's work in this genre.
