Whelp. This one was a freaking disaster. Badly written and full of nonsense.

No es mi estilo pero me gustó bastante. Alex es todo lo malo y parece que si se lustrara un poco pudiera ser todo lo bueno. Stephan está en constante miedo y eso le gusta porque no se aleja (no es que Alex le deje, ja) y que alguien tenga tanto poder (de romperte los huesos) me asusta como a cualquier otro, pero de una novela llamada Macho difícilmente podría tomar algo verdaderamente en serio.
El final es un poco agridulce, no sé qué pensar de Alex, cuál es realmente su problema y si Stephan va a ser parte de él o no. Stephan tiene más confianza que Alex y yo así que démosle un poco de crédito al chico.

Im sorry. I thought this book was going to be trash, the only reason why I got it was because of the cover. I was wrong.
Im not good at reviews, so i'll just say, I loved their relationship even though if this had of been my friend I would have been exactly like Amanda. "Are you out of your fucking mind?" probably would have been how I would have reacted while I called the cops. I get it, but I still found Amanda annoying. I like that Alex cried not once, but twice! I also really liked that Alex was not so black and white, he had a lot to deal with and really no one outside of his 'boyfriend' to talk to about everything, and you can't always talk to your 'boyfriend' about everything.

Oh I loved this, absolutely loved it! I was in my element, I love a small effeminate man paired with a great hulking muscle man, love it! And that is exactly what you get in this story. It’s beauty and the beast at its best. Slim, pretty, make-up wearing Stefan finds street thug, bad boy Alex is attracted to him and he doesn't understand why as Alex’s gang are known homophobic bully’s. There is violence in this and homophobic slurs, but at the heart of it is a love story of two who want better for themselves.

Let's glorify abusive relationships some more, shall we?
I would have probably liked this book a little bit if Stefan had, just once, successfully stood up for himself. Unfortunately, his wishy-washy, weak-willed character was the perfect complement to Alex's rage-fueled, unapologetic, angst-riddled self.
Perhaps they deserve each other. That doesn't mean I want to read about how romantic their dysfunction is.

I liked the story, but I didn't love it. I would recommend giving it a try. It didn't rock my socks off, but it was good.
I saw a lot of potential though and would like to see this author hone her craft.
Like the previous poster, I found Stefan's friend Amanda annoying. Actually I found his friend Rufus a little annoying too.

This novella was okay. It had a little something that kept me reading until the end. Not sure what, though. Maybe because I found it humorous at times, due to it all being OTT: the MCs, their actions, and what happens to them. Maybe because it was so short. 🤷
Somehow a macho thug and a flamboyant twink fall in love. Even though they never really talk or have anything in common. It's sex = love.
This excerpt sums up their relationship:
Apart from that first night when we shared the pizza, we had never just sat and talked. Our time together was always spent satisfying his sexual needs. I knew little about Alex. He knew nothing at all about me.
The overused gay bashing trope is a plot thread.
The MCs are seriously injured and end up in the hospital. I nearly DNF'd when the injured twink, barely able to shuffle, somehow took down two bad guys while vaulting over a hospital bed. Then he's beaten up even more. How he survived is anyone's guess. 🤷 It was fairly entertaining, even if it was ridiculous.
There are only two short sex scenes, which are not detailed or steamy at all. The romance is seriously lacking. I never felt the love.
The ending is abrupt. I doubts the MCs will make it in the long run. An epilogue would have helped.

Different from the others
I read this in one sitting, because it was actually unique! Written in only 1 POV, not bogged down with repetitious sex .. and yet utterly romantic!

Loved it!
I will never understand why some people think it's ok to bully, belittle and even injure others just because they don't agree with them.

Good story line, it's a bit sad to see how certain things unfolded but I am glad love prevails . :)
