Oh man. It's so hard to keep reading. The writing style is just not good. Too much telling, not enough showing, cringe worthy dialogue and monologue...the list goes on. I don't like giving bad reviews, but I have to be honest. This is not good.

What I liked:
1) The only thing I enjoyed was the the H was different from his womanizing brother and best friend. He's got the looks and the charm, but he seems to actually like and respect women, instead of just using them for a good time.

What I didn't like:
1) The h. She's very juvenile and all over the place. One minute she's mad and the next minute she's horny. Not to mention the completely unrealistic expectations she has of people. She doesn't even let them know what they did wrong and just gets mad at them when they're confused. I don't understand her and she annoys the heck out of me.
2) Did I mention the writing? No one talks to each the way the MCs speak to one another. The dialogue is basically comprised of speeches that they make to each other. This is not happy reading.
3) The plot. There's nothing new here and seems like the author just wanted everyone to have a sad, traumatic past.
4) The insta-relationship. Falling in love after seeing each other (not dating, just bumping into each other) a couple of times? Too silly.
5) The profanity. I guess I'm just getting old. The language doesn't add any value to the story at all and detracted from it instead. Plus the H's brothers/buddies crass and disgusting.

4.25 "Second chance love" stars

I actually liked this one very much, and beats me why I gave it 4.25, there must have been a good reason LOL I just cant bring it to memory *facepalm*

anyway, here we have a second chance love after you ve lost a loved one, the one you thought was "the one", and the fact that as time goes by it doesnt make it any easier if you won't let go of the one you lost makes all the difference in the actions and decisions you make...

For Thano, that is the ultimate truth, he can't move on cause he doesn't want to. He lingers on a self torture and guilt for 4 year after he lost her. And there will be no one like her.
UNTIL he meets the fate.

Kilyn is everything that Thano never expect. And she awakes the feelings in him that are so different from those he was acustomed to. This is a whole new teritorry and a whole new guilt department Thao burry himself into...BUT Kilyn has her own issues from a horrid past that don't let her break her high walls down...except the accidental encounters with a the most gorgeous greek God makes her doubt the decisions she made a long time ago.

They both fight the attraction and the chemistry that makes them both vulnerable until they fall...

Even that brings more misunderstanding from the confusion they set themselves into, the guilt and the pain and the fear of the uncertainty and the most dreaded feeling of all - LOVE!

BUT destiny has its own way to prove them both wrong...

This was very enjoyable read, toss in some drama, over the top loud and out numbered Greek familiy, cultural differencies and traditions that stun you with humor, and silly situations mixed with emotional and hearbreakingly, a bit sappy expressions of affection all wrapped up in a Hallmark production and voila! You get a sweet bonbon to enjoy in its taste while you relax on a lazy afternoon....

I really liked reading and during it I laughed a lot, in some scenes I got tears in my eyes and in other very irritated with the hero and I finished reading with a good feeling.
He took a while to put his shit together but when he did was beautiful!
The mother of the hero when she appears on the scene is always hilarious.
Recommend!

“No way in hell. I can’t imagine my life without Savannah in it.”

“She’s having a heart attack.” My eyes widened as I fell back"

“Yeah, well, my daddy taught me two things. How to shoot a gun and how to order a drink.”

"Life moved on everyone kept telling me. The problem was I didn’t want to move on without her."

"I had tried to date two of them more than one time. I couldn’t get past the fact that they weren’t Savannah. No one would ever be Savannah"

"My chest tightened. Savannah and I talked about building a place in the mountains."

"I was torn between wanting to find out more about her and not wanting to forget Savannah."

"I hadn’t felt this happy in a very long time."

"The attraction I felt for Kilyn was almost too strong to deny. Yet, I wasn’t sure if I was ready to move on."

"A part of me felt guilty Savannah wasn’t here for me to show her first,"

“Don’t get me wrong, I really like it. I’ve never had anyone call me anything other than my name, but why ladybug?” Thano’s face turned white as a ghost. “I didn’t even realize I was calling you that.”

“Anyway, I guess when you said I was calling you ladybug, it threw me. I’ve never called anyone by a pet name.”

"I don’t think I’d ever seen anyone so beautiful, and that thought alone filled me with guilt. I used to think Savannah was the most breathtaking woman"

“Jesus, Savannah. What in the hell are you doing?”
“My name is Kilyn. Not Savannah.”

“I promised her my heart and I’m not sure I can give it to anyone else.”

"I am not Savannah. I will never be her nor do I ever want to be compared to her."

“I’m sorry, Thano. I can’t play second to someone else. I’m falling in love with you and the only way I can keep my heart guarded is by letting you go.”

Kelly Elliott books have a fair amount of predictability in them and to be honest this is why I haven't read one for a while. However, if you like a nicely paced romance then you will likely enjoy anything she writes. I'm a big fan of the Wanted series and have a very soft spot for Gunner :)

I'm happy to say that this definitely has the hallmark of Kelly Elliott's tried and true writing style but it had it's own thing going on.

Thano and Kilyn individually have their own personal history that they are still dealing with. When they meet for the first time the sparks fly but giving into their attraction is not going to be easy.

Thano's heart still belongs to someone else and Kilyn doesn't want to be shadowed by that history he still hasn't dealt with.

And then on top of that he has a huge Greek family who love to stick their nose into every corner of his life. It can be quite overwhelming for Kilyn as she struggles with his family culture. Kilyn is more open to explore more with Thano but he needs to still get there himself.

If you enjoy low angst romance then this will hit the spot!

Dead fiancee trope that was surprisingly angst free. It ended up being cute which really isn't my preference in books unless I'm in the mood. H thinks he's still hung up on his dead fiancee. Accidentally calls h Savannah. Her name is Kilyn. Ends up being the H felt guilt because he was subconsciously relieved he wouldn't be marrying Savannah. h Kilyn was raped as a teen and was weary of committed relationships. H Thano get's his act together and then it's smooth sailing with a couple of hiccups from his big Greek family.

I had a really hard time finishing this.

Story of late 20-somethings Kylin and Thano. Both have had tragic pasts and they keep bumping into each other and there's an attraction... where have we read this before??

I think I was supposed to find most of the Greek family scenes funny; I just found them trite and obnoxious. None of the Greek families I know are like this.... although the food and family size are pretty spot on. The dialogue was uninspired and pretty boring.

I read so many romances that I expect so much more.

There's an HEA with a wedding, so that's at least partially satisfying.

Lame predictable DNF

Had such potential but this was so juvenile. They "made love" and fell in love within days of meeting each other. They both called out a different persons name at Inopportune times. Seriously?! 2 stars bc it started off strong. But the whole obnoxious Greek business was too much. I would tell that old Greek hag To shut up and mind her manners.

2.5 stars. I thought the book was cute. Of course everything happened very fast/pretty insta lovey which is annoying but I was happy the ending was cute. I'm confused because there is a 2nd book and I don't know what it could possibly be about. Which doesn't really Excite me because it could be that the author just filling pages with a whole bunch of drama that seems impossible which can be exhausting. But you know me, I will read it because I've started the series.

This book was a bit too reminiscent of "my big fat greek wedding," which made me roll my eyes! A LOT! Dont get me wrong, i LOVE the movie, but unless the Author is Greek, to me it seemed like she copied pieces from the movie, which was whack! For instance in the movie, every cousin was named "Nick" here the book the MCs name was Nick and all the cousins were named "Maria" 😒...#RealOriginalKelly

I did appreciate the eventual passage of time. Also i liked Katarina and loved Charity! You also need a spunky bestie, mix that in with a spicy MIL, and it is pure gold! Lol! I did laugh a lot in this book! At first everything was happening really fast then the author finally started to move time. Thank god!
Lastly, the description of this book, SUCKED. Like it gave no insight as to what to expect. Reading the 2nd book's summary, it sounds like the 1st book, so I am utterly confused lol

4 LADY BUG STARS

Greek hottie anyone?

Thano and kilyn I loved these two characters.

Thano is Greek, previously engaged but this ended in heartbreak and still years later is struggling to move on overwhelmed with grief.

Kilyn has been without parents from the age of 14 her best friend and their parents became her new family.

Two people who have both experienced grief.

A brilliant romantic story of new beginnings with humerous moments from the overwhelming and overbearing Greek family. OMG she's not greek she's Irish moments was so funny. Told in first person dual pov and leads to a heartwarming hea.

IN SUMMARY: HOT,FUNNY,HEARTWARMING AND MORE(ISH)

listened on audio by male and female narrators which was very good and dramatic in all the right places.

I would definitely read more in this series. Looking forward to Nic's story and more Greek family moments.

** ARC PROVIDED BY THE AUTHOR FOR AN HONEST REVIEW **

I was hooked as soon as I read the prologue to this book and how could I not be. We all have scars of some kind and it is how we move on and deal with those scars that make us the people that we are today. That is exactly what we see the characters in this book coming to grips with. This is a funny, sweet, heartfelt and emotional adventure worthy of 4 stars.

From the first few pages you already know that Thano is going to have some difficult times throughout the book as no one would easily get over what happened. All that, tied in with his in general easy going manner and the description of him portraying something of a Greek god then you can’t help but swoon at the thought of him. The journey he goes through really is heartfelt and you really can’t help but be a fan of his and root for him from the get go. As he and Kilyn cross paths so many times he comes to realise that maybe there is meant to be something there, if only he can truly open up to the possibility.

“I had to admit I liked the flirting thing we had going on. Kilyn’s personality was contagious. She was so damn chipper all the time.”

As relaxed and easy going as Thano is meeting someone such as Kilyn who has a lust for life and enjoying what she does is a bit of a revelation for him. Kilyn is feisty and passionate, having a spark about her that also ignites something in Thano making him want more. From the moment they met in the club and all the other run ins that follow Kilyn also can’t stop thinking of Thano and begins to realise that this might just be something. Regardless of how hard it is for Kilyn to take a chance after what she has endured it won’t work if she is the only one prepared to take that chance. Thano needs to accept what he is feeling too.

“Quickly wiping my tears away, I tried to make sense of what he was saying to me. I was beyond confused. One second he was telling me he couldn’t give me his heart and the next he was telling me how different it was with me. My head was spinning.”

True love is never easy and these two are no exception to that rule. Thano and Kilyn have great chemistry and plenty of funny moments and plenty of tense sexually charged moments but can they make it past just a few moments? Are they ready and able to move on? The fact that Thano is from a traditional Greek family and Kilyn is Irish catholic is another problem that they need to face. Going through their journey with them along with the supporting cast of family and friends is a great way to pass time and escape. The feel of the family when together certainly had me imaging scenes from My Big Fat Greek Wedding as they all congregate and talk at once and the overwhelming closeness they had. I really did enjoy that aspect though and those were some of the best bits when the family were involved and I was somewhat jealous not to be invited to the get together.

Considering the book is written by Kelly Elliott you already know you are on to a winner. She is truly talented in the way she writes and elicits emotion from the page and this book is no different. I loved the dual point of view that allowed you to get into the head of both Thano and Kilyn meaning you understood and felt for them more. I would recommend this book to all romance book lovers.

~ 5 Ladybug Stars ~

Whenever I pick up a Kelly Elliott book to read, I know I am going to completely enjoy it and have a huge smile on my face in the end. This book was no different.

Stay With Me is a standalone novel and is a fun and entertaining read. I loved the storyline and cast of characters she introduced to us in this book. I enjoyed that she gave us a little bit of everything to touch on all of our emotions while reading this story. I laughed, cried, swooned, blushed and even got angry. But who doesn’t love it when you can get sucked into a story that much to feel what the characters are feeling. That is what makes a 5 star read for me.

This is a fairly quick read and isn’t loaded down with a lot of drama or angst. Just enough to keep you turning the pages and to root for this couples HEA. This story moves along a great pace and the flow was effortless. I loved that kelly branched out into the Greek heritage. This reminded me a little of the movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Not the storyline, but the craziness of what it would be like living with and growing up in a Greek family. I loved all the Greek touches she threw into this story (When Thano talks Greek to Kilyn….swoon ;) )

In this book we meet Thano and Kilyn. Both have hard and tough backgrounds. Both have suffered severe loss, so each of them have serious trust issues and have built big walls around their hearts to protect them from love. What they didn’t expect was that FATE was playing a bigger hand in their future. After having multiple run-ins they decide to give it a try and date….Well that opens new issues because they have to deal with Thano’s Greek family. Will these two be able to break down their walls enough and find happiness together??? You’ll need to read this story to find out.

I loved all the extra characters we got to meet in this book. I know this is a standalone, but I have to say I wouldn’t be mad if she wrote a book for Thano’s brothers. I would love to read more about this crazy family!!!!

If you are looking for a book that is fun, sexy and features a sexy Greek God, then you’ll want to read Stay With Me. If you are a fan of Kelly Elliott’s then you don’t want to miss this book. She gave us another great love story with characters that just melted my heart.

So I love the cover! Have you see the guy? He is smoking! 😍And I dont even know his name... haha

Anyway I couldn't wait to read this book, especially with such great ratings.
But this book was disappointing.... It did not meet my expectations.
For me it was an okay book for me... No offense to the author, but her writing style is just not for me... 😔

4 GORGEOUS GREEK STARS
This is a sweet, poignant, heartwarming, sexy, funny story. Thano lost his fiancee when she died suddenly. Kilyn lost her parents when she was fourteen. Could life offer them both a second chance?
Thano has a very strong willed Greek mama in his life. In fact there are a lot of Greek relatives in his life and their reaction to his beautiful, Irish heritage, very non-Greek girl is highly entertaining. There's a little bit of angst, lots of humour and plenty of sexy stuff all mixed in with some very romantic gestures.
So, why not five stars? These two fell in love incredibly quickly and I prefer more of a build up. I get the whole instalust/scorching sexual chemistry idea and that works beautifully but Kilyn and Thano were making demands on each other and were displaying expectations that one normally sees between two people in established relationships. I preferred the interaction between them later in the book when they were more solid as a couple.
Recommend to any Kelly Elliott fan and anyone who wants an entertaining and sexy read.

SPOILERS AHEAD.....
HEA? Yes , plus sweet epilogue.
Cheating? No
Triggers? Thano's fiancee dies in front of him - cardiac arrest. Also there is historical rape but the description is not overly graphic.

“You’re the only woman who has ever truly been here. Right here in my heart. Without you, I’m nothing.”
Kelly Elliott has done it again. Kelly Elliott is always a release day must read!! I have not read one book by Ms. Elliott that I didn’t love!! She can write a strong alpha man so well that it makes me weep!!
Thano thought he lost the ability to love again when he saw love die in front of him. He never thought he would find that or something better ever again.
Kilyn guarded from a scary experience doesn’t know how to let people into her world. She is established and successful.
Thano and Kilyn have a series of random run ins and finally decide to give it a shot. But can these two overcome their pasts and can Kilyn be accepted into the Big Greek Family known as Thano’s.
I am excited to see if Kelly will continue to write about this wonderfully large family.
This is a MUST read today!!!

Thano is a greek adonis and of course he has a hugely Greek family who believe that he should have a Greek wife, he suffered a tragic moment in his life which ripped him apart and vowing never to enter another relationship in his life again. A few years later with his family still breathing down his throat he meets Kilyn and the chemistry is undeniable. One problem though Kilyn has had her own fair share of tragic moments in life and she's Irish. After coincidently bumping into each other not once but 3 times the insta love flows but can they commit and can they get round the obstacle of Thano's Greek family ?

The characters in the story are easy to love although I felt myself enjoying some of the side characters more.
I wanted to love this story but ended up just liking it. Even though it had some witty moments which I enjoyed, I felt myself needing more angst and found some of the story a bit to plain sailing and uneventful. However that may just be me and what my preferences are in story. Overall though the wittiness saved it for me and it was quite enjoyable. So if you love a sad start which then turns into a sweet love story then this is definitely the book for you.

Elliott freakin blew me away again! This book was absolutely amazing. Definitely had a My Big Fat Greek Wedding feel to it. I laughed so hard at times I had tears. Not only was the story amazing but the characters were definitely relatable. I'm not Greek but my family is huge and loud and most definitely crazy. I found myself picking out characters and comparing them to my own life. This read was definitely a breath of fresh air.

Thano and Kilyn were absolutely perfect for each other. He's all dark and sexy. She's a little spit fire full of sass. Although neither of them had much luck in love they some how managed to make life grand for each other again. And boy was it a great experience to read. I fell super hard for Thano. So swoonworthy!

I am so smitten after reading that I can't stop smiling. There were some rough parts of the book where the past always seems to make its way into the present but that makes the journey better. What's a good book without a little angst and tension right??? Don't miss out on this one y'all. It was great and confirmed that Kelly can write anything and I will love it!

If you like an incredibly sweet cheese fest, this is perfect for you. I mean it. This was like when you buy the Sara Lee frozen cheesecake and just dig right in to the whole thing. Even after you get sick from the cheesecake overload, yet you can't stop eating it, that's what this book feels like.

In an effort to be fair, I really feel this book is probably better than three stars, but I just can't bring myself to give it four stars. Several things hold me back.

The Greek theme was too much. Ugh, every page had some mention of his heritage. And I get how overwhelming his large family probably was, but Kilyn was an absolute bitch about them many times. Both of them have legit baggage, yet they kept making stupid mistakes that kept them apart. I have not much patience for unwarrented insecurity. Both suffer from it at times and both run or attempt to run. It got old. Their union was one I can't say I really felt like cheering.

Ok, so maybe I shouldn't feel guilty for giving it three stars.

I freakin' loved Thano's mom, “did you say you were on a date? Dimitris! Your youngest son is on a date.” I could hear my father saying something in the background but I couldn’t make it out. “Praise the heavens above. Bring her to me.” seriously the scenes with his ma had me almost peeling myself laughing, "before I even had a chance to open my mouth she said, “Masturbating is a very normal thing, Athanasios.” My mouth fell open as I stared at her. Holy eff. What was worse? My mother catching me having sex . . . or my mother thinking I jacked off in the shower?" I should probably clarify the her in the scene that he's staring at is his woman not his mama. I loved this book yes I loved Thano and his woman but it was his mama that made the book.

My first Kelly Elliott book and I was not disappointed.

Thanos (Super hot Greek guy) is not looking for love. His engagement to his high school sweetheart ended in tragedy and he knows he will never love anyone else again. Until he meets Kilyn.

Kilyn has her own issues that keep her from letting any man get too close to her. Until she meets Thanos.

a chance meeting at a bar find these two running into each other in a host of unlikely places.

I really enjoyed this. There is a great mix of emotion, romance and humour. The Drivas family, especially Thanos' mum, are hysterical.

if you're looking for a real heartwarming romance then I highly recommend trying this one.

I am a huge Kelly fan, so of course when she writes a new story, I always pick it up and read. Stay with Me is the story of the amazingly sexy, Greek Thano, and the stunning Irish beauty Kilyn. I loved the humor that balanced out the sexy times and the hard, angst ridden times. I also learned some more about Greek culture which was fun. I loved that Kilyn was such a strong, female lead. The chemistry between them was sizzling!

If you are new to Kelly's stories, or a long time fan like me...this is not a story you are going to wan to miss.

GREEK MEN! Enough said, right? Ugh, this book is perfection. I have always been a huge fan of this author and her sexy cowboys but now she can write sexy Greek men. Sold! I loved, loved, loved this story and I already want to read it again.

Thano has not had luck in love. Or he did before he lost it. He thinks he deserves to be unhappy for what happened to him. He's stuck in a loveless rut and he doesn't mind it so much. But his family, especially his Mama does. She wants her boys healthy and happy with a Greek woman.

So when Thano meets a girl in a bar one night when he's out with his brothers, he doesn't think anything of it, except she has the most beautiful eyes that he has ever seen. He finds himself not being able to stop thinking about her and it's driving him crazy. He shouldn't feel this way about another woman, ever.

But when Thano and Kilyn keep having these chance encounters...it's nothing but fate trying to push these two together. Kilyn thinks he may be stalking her but she can't get over his gorgeous face and his hot body. These two were definitely thrown into each other's lives for a reason and they can't deny that.

So when Thano decides to get his cabin designed and winds up and her business, he thinks this is about the funniest thing that has ever happened to him.

Quickly they find themselves in a whirlwind of feelings and love. Something Thano never planned on happening to again and Kilyn never thought she deserved to feel with such a dark past. These two need each other in this thing that we call life.

Kilyn and Thano's story is very very unique. I have never read something so different in my life. I loved the Greek traditions and culture that was introduced in this story. My heart literally breaks for Thano (but I do love his full name) because of everything he has been through in his life. I feel terrible that he had to watch that happen to his wife. But I'm so happy that Kilyn came into his life. I'm glad Thano was able to recognize everything that he has been feeling for Savannah and move on. This story is so good to me because they are both able to get over their insecurities and issue to be with each other.

dnf @63%. This was hard reading, a bit like trudging through boggy ground. Not just the writing but the mc's as times acted like juveniles and their interactions left something to be desired. One of my go to tropes for delicious angst is the deceased love trope where the H struggles with moving on, but here that was overshadowed by an irritating h. The fact that they needed to break down, almost belittle, the H's previous relationship to ensure the h wasn't seen as 2nd choice turned me right off.

Greeks... think of those as My Greek Wedding portrait. You get this.
Small town, hot alpha crazy ass Thano and broken Irish girl that thinks she isn't worth much and crazy family that doesn't know a meaning of personal space.

Laugh, few rolleyes and overall nice book to read. Will i remember it after few months? No. I will not.

3.5 Stars...I liked the first half of the book better than the second half....the second half felt a little too much like My Big Fat Greek Wedding. I liked that movie, but it was almost exactly the same and it felt a little...meh. Still. This was a well written, enjoyable read!
