Rate this book
Alexis Donovan is a woman whose dream of falling in love with the perfect men has been dashed because of her infertile status. Still recovering from a war that almost destroyed the world, humans have fought to rebuild and have once again opened their shields to outside visitors. As a liaison officer for alien races that are visiting Earth, Alexis does her best to ignore what she can never have, but when she is put in charge of four visiting alien warriors, her entire world changes...

Dragons Warriors from Arcadia, Xavier and Galan Tesera and their best friends Thorn and Brydan Volis, have been curious about Earth ever since they helped the humans defeat their enemy years ago. As commanders of their own space vessel they travel the galaxies searching out the unknown, but in their hearts they know they will never truly be satisfied without a mate by their side.

When the four Dragon Warriors land on Earth they are instantly enamored with the sharp-tongued liaison who ignites a burning passion in their hearts, and know that she is the mate they have been searching for who will complete their souls. Will Alexis take a chance on four alien warriors or will the fear of leaving everything she has ever known destroy her chance of finding true love?

LMFAO What the hell did I just read!! xD MMFMM? I had no idea when I started this book. I didn't even know this existed. Just so you know, I'm very new to all this. Erotica I mean.
Haha I really can't believe I read this. 4 dudes and 1 woman!!? Holy shit.
This might just have been too much for me ;) Lol, I'm gonna take a little break from the aliens now. Just a tiny one. Yes, I'm going to read some YA now :D

What in the Cristiano Ronaldo's abs did I just read? It says alien smut, but it turned out to be dragon smut. Read with the MacHalo Ladies, because we're on an alien smut roll.

The "story" is about Alexis, a "flawed"(infertile) Earthling female who works as a Liaison Officer in the Alliance (the government/military). She is given the assignment to host four Dragon Warriors, a sub sect of the aliens known as the Arcadians, during the extent of their visit. As soon as the four warriors appear they hone in on Alexis like she's the last woman that will ever be. Yes, all four. She's a little freaked out, but a lot more lusting out.

Alexis is described as having white blonde hair, purple eyes, tan skin. So....basically Daenerys Targaryn from GoT.

The Dragon Warriors, being aliens, you'd think would be super different from humans. Nope, they're just 7ft tall (which isn't that crazy since there's an Earthling dude that's 6'8 in the story), they have glowing silver or gold eyes, tan skin, long dark brown or black hair. And of course, super crazy muscular.
We don't even get something semi-creepy serial killer acting, like this alien man from Prometheus

The body is probably right, though.

What follows is a lot of M/M/F/M/M sex (right after she met them). I was wondering how they were going to make it all work, since according to my math, there are only 3 orifice options, unless you're going for the aural option. Then I thought maybe they'd daisy chain it, but no, they took turns - 2 on, 2 off, switch, and repeat. Real team work.

The Dragon Warriors are two sets of twins who are blood bonded, travel around the galaxies together, being all tough and stuff. Because of this bond they share, they all must have one mate to share. Guess who that lucky girl is? Alexis!

What proceeds is lots and lots and lots, and some more lots and lots of humping, sexy times with the Dragon Warriors. The story is about 80% sex, 20% story. The end of the story has Alexis go raging feminist on the archaic system Earth has for women, separating them into 'fertile' or 'infertile', with the fertile women being prized and the infertile ones being the replaceable worker bees. There's endless repetition in this book, I ended up skimming the last 30% of the book due to this repetitious style of writing. The book could also really use a good edit, it doesn't seem like anyone proofread this at all.

All in all, it's not a bad book, it made me laugh at times, and was pretty ridiculous. I'm sad the Dragon Warriors weren't more alien-y, that was disappointing, but they can shape shift into dragons.

I blame the MacHalo Crew!

I don't really know what to say about this one, when I heard it was an MMFMM ménage story with sexy alien dragon shifters I had to jump in on the group read but unfortunately I ended up feeling disappointed.

Considering it's set 1000 years in the future equality between the sexes has taken a GIANT step backwards and women are just playthings for men to claim. Men get enhanced to make them stronger and more powerful so they can be better warriors while women are enhanced to look like sex dolls. That pretty much says it all so go into this preparing for your blood to boil! It does look like the status quo might change as the series continues though so perhaps it'll be less offensive in later books.

This is an erotic romance so there is way more sex than story, something I don't usually mind but when the sex scenes are making me cringe rather than turning me on then there is definitely something wrong. There was far too much mention of bodily fluids and I was sick of all the guys telling her to "take my seed" *shudder*

This also has some serious editing issues, I actually wanted to get a red pen out and start writing on my kindle screen LOL. There is potential there, the characters are okay, if a little underdeveloped, but there wasn't enough here to make me want to continue reading the series.

This book. Wow.

Mountain View

I demolished it all in one sitting, and while it was entertaining, it was hellishly flawed.

I would call this dragon shifter porn, they aren't really aliens and there certainly aren't any tentacles. :(

There is so much sex in this that sometimes I got confused as to which guy she was actually banging, but I guess that can be expected when there is four guys and one lady?

I can't get down with the vagina weeping, womb prodding and steel hard shafts. All of that doesn't sound sexy at all, it all sounds quite painful actually.

But even with these flaws this was an entertaining ride. I also really enjoyed the overall feminist vibe of the story, with Alexis trying to raise awareness for the females of Earth and how they are often used and abused by the men in power. I was not expecting that sort of depth in an alien smut book.

There is just something so hot about four men being brought to their knees by one female and I really enjoyed reading about Alexis learning about how much power she had over her mates and how cherished they were making her feel. And some of their proclamations of love just made my heart burst!

Could have done with a bit more story and a little less sex, but overall, a fun read.

This was definitely a deviation from the norm for me.

I mean, come on. A M/M/F/M/M with shifter dragon aliens who look like gods with swirly tattoos and glowing eyes. How can you not want to at least take a peek at that? And let's be real people. You don't go into a book like that expecting great literary prowess. You go into a book like that for the alien sexy times and on that front this delivered. Maybe a tad too much and a tad too tediously, but nonetheless it delivers in the alien lovin' department. However, I do like my aliens to be more physically alien than this. Not just big, muscled, hot shifters. Like actual alien creatures. But I'm weird like that I guess.

And maybe I'm just old fashioned but I think it would have taken more than a day to convince me to form a permanent mate bond with not one, not two, not three, but FOUR males (not men...they make that distinction very clear). But hey, to each their own :)

This was entertaining for about 60% of it while the other 40% was a bit repetitive. It gets 3 stars.

Buddy Read with the MacHalo crew. 'Cause we love a little alien lovin.

Oh Lord, what have I gotten myself into?

How the hell does this have such (relatively) good ratings??? This was terrible! 80% of the book was just repetitive sex scenes that were not that great. After like the 3rd time of Alexis being all "I can have sex with all of you and never feel tired" it was just like... Seriously? Really? Skip. I must have skimmed more than half the sex scenes which means like most of the book.

Don't get me wrong. I understood before starting this that it was an erotica novel but really? Couldn't we try for some plot? There was at least a bit of potential for some plot and character development instead of having this PWP smut-fest that you end up with. And about 3/4 of the way through the book you end up with this loooooooong sex scene which is like a summary of everyone's personalities and it's like "oh was that the character development I was hoping for?" It was like reading a character bio... while the character thrusts away into a "pussy" and if I have to read that word one more time. UGH.

Also, as is addressed at the beginning of the book, there are huge gender issues on this war torn Earth that Alexis is affected by and tries to help with a bit by identifying sexism in the military but instead of really doing anything about it So. Bad.

In 3013 the world is different. After a war with an alien race, where humankind just scraped a victory, fertile women are now few and all girls are tested to see if they can bare children. Alexis Donovan is one of the many women who are infertile and as such any dreams she has of entering into a loving relationship are futile. However, her job as an alien liason is something she does love and her newest assignment could be her most challenging yet. Tasked with welcoming and looking after four Dragon Warriors she is prepared for anything, apart from the instant connection and desire she feels as soon as she looks at them...especially when they are looking at her in the exact same way.

Sometimes a girl just needs to feed her addiction and in my case that addiction would be cheesy sci-fi, when I picked up 3013: Mated I knew what I was getting into. I didn't expect to be reading the next greatest thing in romance, what I wanted was lots of gorgeous aliens and the woman they dazzle with their extraterrestrial penis wielding skills. And that is exactly what I got and I enjoyed it unashamedly.

In 3013: Mated we had two sets of brothers all who fully expect to share a mate, and as soon as they set their eyes on Alexis they know after years of searching, that they have found her. Alexis on her part sees two pair of hot brothers and like any red blooded gal faced with such a wall of sexiness immediately goes all hot and bothered. From there the book keeps heating up as the chemistry between Alexis and the guys increases until it hits critical and they show her that a sword isn't the only pointy object they have skills with. However, it wasn't all just sex, there was an attempt at making a deeper connection between Alexis and her men, however, this was a short book with five main characters so although it was sweet it was mainly the sexual connection that was explored.

This book was a lot of fun, my love for all things regarding sexy aliens continues and I will definitely be reading the next book in the series when I require my next hit of cheesy sci-fi.

I'm guilty of being a bit of a "shifter snob", in that I have relegated non-lycanthrope type shifters to the unsexy and therefore not for me category of paranormal romance reads. Sure I've downloaded various shifter type books over the years (because I can't pass up a book sale or a freebie deal to save my life) but they've remained unread on my tablet all this time. It's kind of like when you put a new vegetable in front of a kid and they look at it like it might poison them. I blame underexposure.
All that said, this was my first dragon shifter read, and it was a stupid amount of fun. Okay, sure, the writing was not the best (the dialogue was SUPER REPETITIVE) and yes, this is the kind of story that makes people (ehrm... non-romance/erotica reading people) think that I just read porn all day. But it still made me smile, swoon a bit, and get an extra drink of water for a cool down.
Honestly, the story had potential to be bigger and longer. More world building and character development would have made for quite the story. However, it had four over the top alpha males, and that alone is enough to satisfy this girl.
Plus, it was exactly the type of easy read I needed after my previous one had emotionally drained me.
I'll give more shifter types a chance after this.

Wow, it was a nice concept. 4 dragon shifters that are also not of Earth. LOVED that. Great characters.

The smut was nice, but a little more plot thrown in there would've been fantastic.

I know it's a series, so now I'm wondering if the series will focus on this unit of couple or others?

I do hope that there's more of a stronger plot line to the story that can fill out the book more.

Thanks to Mel for rec'ing it :-* I did enjoy it!

2.5 stars. Started off *so* promising and hot.....and then just became a boring, predictable (kinda preachy) hump-a-roo. I was skimming the sex scenes after the 75% mark.

PLOT:
Earth in the year 3013 is a planet gone through war and disease that has killed and sterilized large percentages of the population.
Women are outnumbered by men, and women who are fertile are even more rare. Mandatory testing at 10 years of age for fertility status and all receive facial tattoos to identify their breeding capability.
Women who can breed are obviously more valuable.

Also, since men outnumber women so much, relationships are generally one woman and 2 to 4 men. Men form groups so they are already a 'unit' when they can get a woman to join with them. (chortle) New meaning for the buddy system.

Alexis is an empathic elite officer working as a liaison between earth and alien races. She is also unable to have children. So she is in a lower class than the fertile women. She had her heart broken by two men when she was younger. They convinced her they loved her, got her to go to bed and have sex with them and later told her they would be forming a "bonded unit" (marriage) with a fertile woman the following week. Although they planned for her to continue having sex with them as their mistress.
She cuts all ties with them and moves to a new city. They also move to the same city and begin semi-stalking her.

The story begins with Alexis being ordered to function as liaison officer to four Arcadian warriors. These Arcadian warriors travel space all their lives and are called Dragon Lords. The alien race of Arcadians helped rid Earth of an invading alien race that was bent on killing all humans. These beings must be given every courtesy.
She protests it but when the Dragon Lords show up early, she agrees to function as their host. All four of them are huge and handsome.

The Dragon Lords are instantly captivated with Alexis. Xavier & Galan are brothers and Thorn & Brydan are brothers, but they plan to form a "bonded unit" with one woman. Their race are dragon shifters, immortal, magical and can speak telepathically between each other. Oh...and they're hung like stallions. They all immediately sense that Alexis is their mate.

__________________________________

It started off SO hot! The chemistry between Alexis and the Dragon Lords seemed good to me, the first sex scene was *gooood*. I could see how the mean ex's were going to be brought back to get their comeuppance. However, most of the book was sex. It wasn't really enjoyable. It was a rotation that just kept occurring. All four would have to have sex with her, two at a time, blah blah blah. Out of all the sex in the book, there was ONE SCENE of Alexis getting oral performed on her. Really???? Four guys and a dozen sex scenes where all four of them do her. How sad is that?

The class systems between the fertile women and infertile women and elites and non-elites became a bit preachy towards the end as well.

HEA. I would only recommend this if you were bored and wanted filler reading material.

I picked this book up because a blogger thought a friend of mine had written it, which she hadn't. I wanted to read it for science after I read the blurb and I was not disappointed. I LOVED the heroes. They doted on the heroine and it was just so sweet. Simple story with steamy sex. Great rainy day read.

I had so much fun with this book. Alpha maleness personified. Not 1 or 2, but 4 alien warriors that are larger than life. When they first lay eyes on Alexis each of them know she is their mate. The four warriors are Dragon Shifters and travel the world.
Alexis is a Laison Officer, on a world that separates fertile women and infertile women. The treatment of infertile women is atrocious, they don’t have many rights and are limited in what they can do.
At first Alexis didn’t want the job of showing earth the to aliens, but it was the lesser of two evils. When Alexis meets the warriors, just their presence sets her off balance. Because of her past issues with men, she really isn’t very quick to want to make cozy, the men are not going to let her get away that easy.
I enjoyed the story soo much, first loving dragons! Then just the story as a whole was awesome, the way the men cared and reacted to Alexis, and even though she was cautious Alexis gave them a chance. There were a couple of times things got a bit con-fuddled... (always remember one important word – communication) The very yummy and hot scenes, I found myself thinking of the dynamics.. giggles. I even pictured how big the bed needed to be to fit 5 people in it (they didn’t always use the bed). Just saying. Again loved the story line and the characters. Nice job Ms. Roma! Enjoy

This book had everything I love in one, twin sets of hot aliens, with fangs, that can shift into dragons. I loved the world Laurie Roma has created and she explains the history of this new world in such a way that it is simple to understand, and the amount of information is not overwhelming. The four male characters each stole a piece of my heart, while the lead female was one of strength and not some damsel in distress, even though the men liked to treat her as if she needed protection ever once in a while.
I cant wait to read more from this series and pray I dont have long to wait.
Another series I can see myself getting addicted too.

The only reason this one took me as long as it did, was because I didn't read it for 3 days.

This was my first Laurie Roma...

This book tried to be so many things.
Futuristic.
Aliens.
Paranormal.
Shapeshifters.
MAGIC.

Yes, those last three could get lumped into the same category.. but not always.

It was set in the future. Check.
Aliens that have paranormal magic abilities that transform into Dragons. Yup, you read that right. And literally anything they needed or wanted, they just willed it so with their magic. Including extra lube. Guess that's really convenient when double/quadrupedal teaming a gal.

I think I have decided 4 dicks is too many. Also, the whole twins/brother aspect that crops up in M/F/M or more stories tends to wig me out.

It gets very repetitive. Very quickly.

The plot is predictable. (As there was so little)

And lets talk the boys.

The only real personality I remember is Xavier. Because he is an absolute alpha male jackass who yells ALL THE TIME. And I didn't like him at all.

Because it's a M/M/F/M/M story, of course the boys only have 4 personality traits, and never do they cross.

Xavier, we have touched on.
Galan, I think he was the Lover-not-the-fighter of his twinset.
Thorn, I think was the observant one.
Brydan, only had wit. Yup, amused mirth in his eyes at all times. Though his humor was never actually shown? Just the eye glint / smirk.

Not sure if I will continue on in the series or not. But I think it's different authors, so possibly. Actually, I probably will if nothing else just to get to Jax and Sully's story.

This is the first in the (hopefully, long) series of 3013, which I didn’t read in order. I gobbled up this book as soon as I finished the second book, 3013: Claimed. What an incredibly interesting new world: Laurie Roma takes a classic alien story and tailors it to perfection to fit in with the new world order. Alexis Donovan has fought long and hard to make something of herself, but will always be inferior due to her infertile status. All that changes when four sexy dragons walk into her life.

The Arcadian Dragon Warriors…where can I get a pair of my own? And lucky Alexis gets two pairs! This book is very fast paced, and while it could have been much longer with things fleshed out, it works this way. The passion is absolutely smoking hot in the 3013 books, and my goodness, do these men deliver! Let me just say, I’m sure glad that they’ve got magic to help with any soreness, or Alexis wouldn’t be walking for half of the book.

I greatly anticipate future stories from the 3013 world, and hope that changes are made to the culture (although, not too much is made of that in the second book, so I’ll keep my fingers crossed that future books will help infertile woman gain some ground in society). This book was a pleasure to read on this stormy evening, and will definitely go into my “re-read” pile.

Five flames for smoking hotness.

Proof read?

I liked the story, but wow there are a lot of mistakes. Words are missing completely, wrong tenses are used, anyways is not a word...it goes on. I like the story and connected to Alexis right away. The heroes are definable and aren't carbon copies of one another, and there is an interesting plot. I'd give it a better reading, but the mistakes are incredibly distracting (early instead of earlier is a common type of mistake). I have issues with writers or publishers asking for money for a product with lazy to zero editing. If the mistakes are detracting from the story, you have a problem. As the product is...I can't recommend it. Between the grammar, no editing, it isn't of a quality to ask for five dollars in cost. I really like this author, and while editing is poor in her other books, it isn't as distracting. Seriously, it reads like a rough draft.

This book: The ultimate ladies-fantasy, or "turn-about-is-fair-play" on most men's fantasies.
Oh, if only this scenario of 4 dedicated, sweet suitors could be true in real-life, it would be a heaven on earth.
Series overall: These are short, spicy alien or shifter or cyborg romance stories with really HOT good-quality sex and sweet romance. I really, really enjoyed this series. Very guilty pleasure. I CANNOT wait for more to come out. These need to be read in-order to make the most sense, as previous characters are in later episodes.
Re-read Worthy: Yes, Like Popcorn. Can't stop eating it!!!
Things I would love to see: Longer stories, more complexity. More stories. I love lots of suffering before the main-characters work towards their happy-ending.

I loved 3013! It was a really awsome read Laurie and you never cease to amaze me and bring in something new! This is normally not a book I would read, first because it is set in the future theme, and second because it has 4 males in the menage and the most I like is 3 partners but saying that I thoroughly enjoyed it! I loved the main alpha males, Xavier, Galan, Brydan and Thorn. They all had a place in Alexis's heart for their own reasons and brought something different to the relationship. Alexis, who was strong yet vulnerable and had been let down throughout her life and felt like she never belonged but she soon learned that these wonderful males were hers and they would never let her down! Fantastic, loved it!
