This book has it all, 2 very strong lead characters both battling with their demons whilst having this past connection. Over the 3 books you are taken on a journey that at times I didn't want to go on. I wanted my HEA but I stuck with it and I'm so glad that I did! I'm not going to put any spoilers in here but what I will say is stick with it even if you have to shout and threaten to throw your kindle across the room you will enjoy the end result!
I'm not quite sure where to begin with this review as i'm not really into the push/pull relationship books but as it's book 1 of 3 it did a good job explaining the background of the 2 main characters, Reese and Luke. Reese has come from a violent family where her father was a drunk and beat on her and her mother, ending with him in jail. Her mother goes through boyfriends with similar violence happening on a regular basis. Reese's background is that of foster homes! A regular visitor to a couple who lives opposite Reese. Since a young teenager, he has stepped in a rescued Reese from when she was 8 up to the age of 14, where he saves her from being raped by her mother's current boyfriend. Now they are both older and at the age of 20 and him 25, they have an electrical attraction of which although they both try to ignore, it's impossible. She struggles to believe him when she catches him out on a lie but not knowing the true nature, the go their seperate ways... The story was deep and with secrets being revealed, it takes a dark twist that will leave you desperate for the next in the trilogy!!!
RESISTING RYANN (4 stars)
Book 2 begins where book 1 ended and continues the journey between Reese and Luke perfectly. After finding a letter from Luke telling her to move on, she's heart broken... But she doesn't know the truth as to what's happening and what Luke is actually protecting her from!!! What tragedy happens and she is mislead with situations... She decides it really is time to move on! Still she is kept from the truth!!! With Luke back but danger still around, is she a walking target? Can Luke protect her? He tries to win her back, but with out the real dark facts, she is willing and does, walk away! With secrets still hidden and hearts and facts still broken, the twists will make you want to shake her and shout for her to sit and listen! Myself, i struggle with books like this yet it does make a hell of a plot for a badass story! By the last page in this book, you will be shaking and desperate to begin book 3 and discover the whole truth as to what's happening and you will NEED to know... What happens next!!!
BREAKING RYANN (5 stars)
Book 3 continues perfectly from where book 2 ends and may i say... This is one hell of a conclusion and will bring out every emotion possible whilst reading! Reese is struggling with her feelings for Luke whilst trying to make a future with Sean. Luke is not happy and his heart is broken, but not giving up on his one and only love, he will do what ever it takes to win back Reese, no matter what the cost! With all the secrets out, that will leave you breathless and gob smacked yet tearful at the same time, i spent most of this book with white knuckles as the story finally unfolded!!! With everything out in the open and no more hiding anything, will they finally be able to get their HEA? With everything they have been through, is it too late? Have the secrets finally pulled them apart? All the answers to every question you have, gets an answer in this book and as i said before, it's emotional and a wonderful, yet shocking ending because just when you think things are great... A final plot twist will blow your mind... Brilliant!!!
All in all a good read!!! By the end of the boxset, i loved the characters as i had spent so much time with them all. I also totally loved the final twist at the end because it was unexpected but fitted perfectly, bringing the whole story together!!!... Brilliant!!! Looking for that story that just sucks you in and keeps you captive with the characters? Well meet Luke Ryann. MMA fighter, hot tempered and play boy, who once saved a girl and never stopped thinking about her. Now years later he is back working at the gym his foster parents own, when he walks in and sees that girl from so many years ago. Reese, has had a some what tough life surviving an abusive father and then an even more abusive step father she grew up strong. She teaches self defense at a gym so that young girls can learn to defend themselves. She never forgot the boy that rescues her, and now she is faced with a much larger problem. Luke Ryann is back and she doesn't know how to handle the heat that he generates from just one look at her. I loved reading this series of a reformed bad boy and how much he loves Reese. There is drama, suspense, heat, passion and so much love that your heart will burst. He is gentle and caring and she is loving and strong willed. Together they make one hell of a romance story that will suck you in and devour your heart.
This box set is the three part love story of Reece and Luke. They have a sweet and sexy connection that had to withstand some pretty serious situations. Luke is a fighter who is retiring and is training Reece. They can't resist the attraction they have for each other. That is until Luke leaves her behind and breaks her heart in the process. It isn't what she thinks, but Luke has to protect her and can't reveal what is going on. My heart broke for Reece as she suffers through the loss and it hurt for Luke too for all he is going through. When all is behind him, Luke comes back for Reece, but he has to fight to win her heart again. I so enjoyed their story.
Right from the first chapter I was intrigued by the book and what the characters had to offer. I couldn’t stop reading until I finished the series. Reese has gone through a lot in her life and Luke was always around to save her from her father and her mother’s boyfriend. Luke became a fighter and when he retired he went back to his home and since he has come back into her life all he wants to do is be with her but to do that he must break her heart to be able to conquer the demons that come from his past so that they can have a future. The whole series was great and I enjoyed every part of reading it. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who enjoys a great fighter book.
This is a great box set! I loved just being able to move from one book to the next. You certainly build an attachment to Luke and Resse. I loved this series a lot, and can not wait for Story's book.
This is luke. A walled and career protector. Reese is a women who has had been let down a few to many times. And had built a pretty big wall like luke. But she is who she is. Because of what like did for her a child. They are meant to be together. They make each other whole. That's all they will ever need. Story is proof of that. She is part of their future.. You laugh ,cry and smile. And cheer for all good they do for each other. Happy reading.
This is the 3 book set of Luke & Reese. I have not read a series that caused me so much pain & emotion like this in a very long time! This series has so much angst!! I thought about these characters constantly, while I was doing chores, trying to go to sleep, trying to function in the real world. I felt for them & empathized with them. I love them & love their friends. Spectacular series. All 3 books are amazing.
I am new to this author and I was excited to read it! Who doesn't love a bad boy right??
These characters were truly amazing and made you feel connected to the story. This author had a way of drawing her readers in. The characters had so many layers to them. They went through many ups and downs and I only hoped they had an HEA! I'm not spoiling that for you - you need to buy the book to find out!
I absolutely loved Luke!! He was amazing and so protective of Reese. Were they made to be together? Would they be able to resist each other? I just couldn't seem to get enough to read their full story! I also really loved Logan and Gia too - they were funny and great add to the other characters.
